  1. People must be forgetting the fact he was the standout Premier League player up until January...
  2. LDN I think you're missing my point. The fact we purchased a striker who was out-of-form and low on confidence for such an extravagant sum suggests money is no longer a barrier for us once again.
  3. The 'he isn't worth it' argument is one voided by the signing of a 27 year old for £50 million.
  4. Sturridge should be loaned out for a full season anyway, I reckon. Nothing wrong with a Chelsea legend seeing out the last year of his contract.
  5. A Champions League knockout game with a fair referee. EDIT - Oh, you said realistic. In that case, the Quadruple? It might please the doubters that crawl out from under the floorboards when we're not winning everything.
  6. Thanks for all your comments, guys Just been in a nostalgic mood today.
  7. Drogba, Bosingwa, Mourinho and van Persie are the only four people to stand up to UEFA. That earns them my respect. (Well, maybe not van Persie...)
  8. Not as painful as seeing Ferguson lift it with an average team. I despise Barcelona's acting, but they are a better side.
  9. Cheers guys! There is a possibility that he could well move on this summer - I really hope he doesn't though. But these last four games could be his final matches in Chelsea blue. And you never really appreciate what you have until you lose it. We'll miss Drogba more than any other player when he moves on, I think. Players can be replaced in their respective positions, especially 20-goals-a-season strikers, but with Drogba you have Didier the footballer and Didier the man. You'll replace him as a goalscorer, but never as a person. Living Chelsea legend.
  10. Welcome! I'm only 18 though... not quite a pensioner
  11. For the record, I think Eusebio was better than Pele. And Maradonna Although its hard to say because I've never watched any of them play.
  12. Cheers mate. Even after all he's given the club I still don't think he is appreciated as he should be. Proper legend!
  13. Benayoun with Lampard and Mikel in midfield then? Could work...
  14. I've acknowledged that, but there are Jewish users on here that don't know that
  15. 10 reasons to love Didier Drogba... 28th Apr 2011, In Articles, by Alex Hinsley
  16. Fuck Neil Barnett, get this guy on Chelsea TV!
  17. [cliché]If people had the same tastes, life would be a very dull experience indeed.[/cliché]
  18. Yury's injury is mental - every time he gets a chance to make an impression he looks like a rabbit caught in headlights.
  19. Barcelona were brilliant. The problem is, Mourinho is playing Italian-style football with a Spanish team, and it really doesn't work. 'Defender' is a misnomer in Spanish footballer, because they all basically play in the midfield and just run back when they lose the ball. Trying to play a disciplined back five does not work in Spain, unfortunately for José. I absolutely agree about what he said with there being a conspiracy about Barcelona having to reach the final every year. And from the amount of times he mentioned Chelsea in his post-match press conference yesterday, you can tell his misses England.
  20. Best player (more than 10 apps) - Petr Cech - our stand-out performer bar none this season. Worst player (more than 10 apps) - Yury Zhirkov - I'm a fan of Yury, but every time he was given a chance he did next to nothing in each game. He's just a spare part nowadays unfortunately. Most improved player - Ramires - I know he only joined in the summer, but after so many on here called him shit and I was one of those that stuck by him, Rambo is an obvious choice for me. Best goal - Alex vs Arsenal, home, Premier League - I like free-kicks, I like Alex, I like beating Arsenal, so this makes this an amazing goal. Best buy - Yossi Benayoun - he's had his injuries, and we may well bring in a new playmaker next season, but Yossi is a consummate professional and simply a different class when it comes to being creative. In the inflated transfer market of the present, £5 million is a steal for someone who can give three-four years of supply to the forwards in a squad role. Worst buy - Fernando Torres - seeing as though Luiz and Ramires have been sensational and Yossi came for such a great price, el Nino's £50 million pricetag is the only thing which makes him anything close to a bad buy. We'll see that money paid off though, have no doubts. Best team performance - vs Manchester United, home, Premier League - a goal down to that despicable cunt and his team of wankstains, what a great goal by Luiz and a superb performance. Champions they may well be, but I tell you - United are friggin cack, and will only win trophies this term because of Fergie's brilliance. Best individual performance - Petr Cech vs Stoke, away - okay, so maybe I'm just being a pleb and wanted to choose something different, but Cech's performances this season have been excellent and he played superbly at Stoke and earned us a valuable point. Best youngster - Josh McEachran - the club have been good with McEachran. We've given him a taste of the big time, and now he has the taste of it he will strive for more and more experience of first-team football. We could have just let him warm the bench all season, but instead of giving him an automatic pass to step up a level, he knows he must work for it and continue to show the potential to be brilliant. Most memorable moment - The Twenty-Four Seconds - I'll remember this season for the Twenty-Four Seconds at Old Trafford. 24 seconds in which we dared to believe and then saw our hopes instantly shot down when Park scored United's second. That's been the tale of this season... good, but not good enough.
  21. Rambo a doubt for Spuds... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_6900714,00.html
  22. Touché, but with van der Wiel, he isn't world class. Unlike Torres. As right backs go, we could do a lot worse, but I'd rather see Todd Kane be given a chance there.
  23. Overrated and out-of-form. Paulo Ferreira's a better option at this moment in time...
