  1. LMAO, brilliant by Terry to land on the ball after he's fouled.
  2. No harm in giving it a go against the league's weakest side, it can offer both players valuable minutes and confidence.
  3. I thought you meant Chris Martin for a minute. I'd love to see him up front. Andre Villas-Boas has selected Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres in a two-man frontline. It looks as though Villas-Boas has gone to a 4-4-2 diamond shape, with Frank Lampard tucking in behind the front men and Florent Malouda playing on the left of midfield. Branislav Ivanovic replaces Alex in the centre of defence, while new signings Juan Mata and Romelu Lukaku are both on the bench. Norwich defender Leon Barnett is available after serving a one-game ban in the League Cup defeat to MK Dons, while new defender Daniel Ayala is out for eight weeks with a knee injury. Wes Hoolahan was a doubt with a hamstring problem but starts in midfield. Chelsea will line-up in the following 4-4-2 diamond formation: 40 Hilario 17 Jose Bosingwa 2 Branislav Ivanovic 26 John Terry © 3 Ashley Cole 7 Ramires 12 John Mikel Obi 15 Florent Malouda 8 Frank Lampard 9 Fernando Torres 11 Didier Drogba Subs: 22 Ross Turnbull33 Alex,19 Paulo Ferreira, 20 Josh McEachran, 10 Juan Mata, 39 Nicolas Anelka, 18 Romelu Lukaku Norwich are expected to line up in the following 4-5-1 formation: Ruddy; Naughton, Whitbread, Barnett, De Laet; Crofts, Johnson, Hoolahan, Tierney, C Martin; Holt © Subs: Rudd, R Martin, Bennett, Pilkington, Fox, Jackson, Morison. The referee is Mike Jones.
  4. No thanks. And please use the search feature to check if a topic already exists!
  5. A nice game to look forward to, I'd rather play a London derby than have to play another meaningless game. There will be some spice in this one!
  6. THE THIRD ROUND DRAW FOR THE CARLING CUP: Cardiff City vs Leicester City WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs Millwall CHELSEA vs FULHAM Aldershot/Carlisle vs Rochdale ARSENAL vs Shrewsbury Town Burnley vs MK Dons Leeds United vs MANCHESTER UNITED Brighton vs LIVERPOOL Nottingham Forest vs NEWCASTLE MANCHESTER CITY vs Birmingham BLACKBURN vs Leyton Orient/Bristol Rovers Swindon/Southampton vs Charlton/Preston North End EVERTON vs WEST BROM Crystal Palace/WIGAN vs Middlesbrough ASTON VILLA vs BOLTON WANDERERS STOKE CITY vs TOTTENHAM
  7. Sky Sports News and coverage will also be on the BBC Website (live text). I'll try finding links
  8. I'd love it if he made it as this club, he could be our own Steven Gerrard.
  9. It's people with information that isn't split by commas, ie. favourite players that look like this - Torres,Lukaku,Bosingwa,Flo,DiMatteo,Zola,Lampard,Osgood - it stretches the resolutions of the box. If you tell me whenever you see a member which such a profile, let me know and I'll rectify it.
  10. Agree there, I can't stand him. Curry is an apt surname because he's one big bloke.
  11. Rooney - Tevez - Ronaldo is my favourite outside of CFC.
  12. He's a deep-lying playmaker, á la Alonso - but nowhere near as good. That being said he's still a decent player and is out of contract at the end of this season.
  13. Because this kid is going to be our next RB, I believe. He has all the qualities to be a first team player for Chelsea.
  14. Maybe now he'll be twice the player, he's proved to be twice the man some members here take him for.
  15. I think it's sensible. Transfer market should open properly on June 1st, close August 1st. Two months to negotiate, simples.
  16. Can I say Robben - Drogba - Duff? The fluidity of our team, particularly in 04/05, was absolutely outstanding. I loved Gudjohnsen, but I also loved Crespo and I loved how he and Drogba were rotated in 05/06. Granted they only got 30 goals between them but the contrast was fantastic. On the few occasions we played them together we absolutely hammered teams, especially the 4-1 against West Ham where Maniche was sent off and we were 0-1 down.
  17. I've never been a fan of seeing goalkeepers wear the armband. Of course they have the benefit of seeing the whole of the pitch and there have been numerous successful GK captains in the past, ie. Casillas, Dino Zoff, Nikopolidis, etc. etc., I just prefer having a defender as the captain and the leader of the team.
  18. I totally agree, and you of course raise an excellent point that links in with what I was saying in regards to the origins of the popularity of sport in this country.
  19. And also Wilshere and Ramsey coming in our direction.
  20. Unless AVB is going to do what I said in 2008 and play Bosingwa as a winger (Andy Gray gave me the idea when he could only say 'Boswinger' when commentating) then there is no chance of vdW joining. We already have 45905409721308433 right-backs. Well, okay, three, but that is already far too many.
  21. Yeah, apparently Lampard and Bastian spoke when Bayern played us in 04/05, when he was only 19 - he wanted to swap shirts then but Ballack and Lampard had already swapped I think.
