Hasselbaink was a penalty taker his entire career, was very rarely injured and always first-choice up front, whereas in 2004-2006 Drogba was rotated with Gudjohnsen and Crespo, in 2008 was totally frozen out of the squad and in 2010 took months to return to his best because of malaria...

I don't see why Meireles has become a target. He's a good player, and granted he is not a long-term option, he is the best we have at present.

He said Bruma was as good as useless, he scored a few goals to his credit but he was underwhelmed by his lack of defensive ability and his poor concentration, and he was always the weak link when he was played. His consistency was also an issue. He was impressed with van Aanholt though, he said he has a bright future though that may not be at EPL level. I don't understand why Bruma is suddenly a defensive messiah, though?
