  1. Cech Ferreira - Cahill - Luiz - Cole Essien Meireles - Lampard Sturridge - Drogba - Kalou Resting Terry, Ramires, Torres and Mata for the Benfica home game.
  2. If they offered that much we would HAVE to accept.
  3. We do seem to be saving our best football for the FA Cup and the UCL, no doubt about it. I don't think we'd finish 4th even if we tried our best because our fixtures are so tough. As long as we finish above Newcastle.
  4. Of course we played well, we defended absolutely brilliantly and had by far the game's best chances (Kalou's goal, Mata hitting the post, the Kalou header, Meireles' shot from the edge of the box). We were lucky to survive the penalty appeal though, that is something I have already said. I think you're just angry because you've been shown for a very disappointing side, I expected more much from Benfica but they were distinctly average and we could have won 3-0 and the result would not have been flattering. I hope you turn up and play in the second leg, otherwise it'll be a very easy game, especially if we play as well as we did against Napoli. In fact, Napoli would have destroyed you, they are a better team technically with a more adept manager and far better attacking players than both Benfica and Chelsea. If Cavani and Lavezzi would have had the chances Kalou and Mata had, you'd be out of Europe already.
  5. I don't think we'll win at Villa though, even though they are so poor. They always play well against us and Villa Park is a bogey ground!
  6. I would like for us to have a new manager in place before the Euros.
  7. Red would just be something completely out of the norm. Maybe that's why people are against it, but if we have a blue home kit, a yellow or white away kit, and then a red alternative strip, then I'd be very happy as it means there would be no ridiculous luminous colours. Perhaps red for the goalkeeper strip?
  8. Haha, you're actually right these days Ron! Time is very limited to me so I only tend to write when there is the will to do so. Very difficult to do that for this season... although if you look at the other two famous UCL matches against Valencia and Napoli then you have two.
  9. You're the second person to infer we're strict as a staff team. How so? It really amazes me because we have possibly the most lenient Mods of any forum I have ever visited, and I have visited countless numbers of them. Although admittedly I do have my tipping point.... As for it becoming more professional... well... that's just a good thing.
  10. I like that idea LDN, it just depends if Jim can introduce a working hook for it. It's something I'd like to look into.
  11. I'd quite like something different in our away kits. Yellow, purple, green, even red. In fact I would love a red kit with white highlights.
  12. I was going to do a 'view from the stands' one as well, but I think it would be best if I alternate, that way its more varied and exciting for me to make.
  13. Nope, you got it wrong mate. As Manpe said, we can just move the thread when the player is actually linked to us
  14. Shall I be a sad bastard and tell you all the games he's scored in and we've lost? 3-3 vs Blackburn (lost on pens), December 2009 1-2 vs Internazionale, Feb 2010 1-3 vs Manchester United (Com Shield), August 2010
  15. If you ever have a problem with a member of the staff team, do not hesitate to ask another staff member for a second or even third opinion, we are always happy to help and keen to ensure everyone is happy
  16. That's exactly what I'm proposing By getting rid of the 'rule' it goes down to individual discretion.
  17. Also please feel free to discuss. I have voted yes to both.
  18. They're all 12 or 13... meaning they're not too young for a slap and too old to complain about it
  19. PROPOSAL ONE The following proposal has been suggested by Swedish House Mafia in regards to the Transfer Talk forum rules. Therefore: We are suggesting abolishing current ruling, which dictates that moderators are free to delete links and articles from 'unreliable sources' such as Goal.com. This is because this is firstly a discussion forum and to do this is defeating the purpose of debate. Furthermore, the vast majority of sources are what you would deem 'unreliable', meaning consistent exercising of this practice would become a time-consuming endeavour. As already stated, this 'rule' has never really been consistently exercised by all staff (I for one have never been bothered by it, but it is down to moderator discretion). Therefore allowing discussion and debate over any source would be good in terms of activity for the forum and may serve as interest to HOWEVER... Some members may feel that they do not wish to sift through topics containing articles with little substance. NEVERTHELESS This new system would therefore invite individual member discretion to what they personally deem as 'reliable' or 'credible', and thus can choose whether to take the source at face value and therefore discuss it or not. PROPOSAL TWO By extension, I have thought to bring up a suggestion I have made several times in the past - change Transfer Talk into twosub-forums; one for discussing linked players and another as a 'transfer wishlist' forum where members can discuss summer transfers and discuss players they'd like to see at the club that haven't been linked to Chelsea in the media. I believe this proposal would help clean up the transfer forum as there is nothing to differentiate between some threads - "which have articles and which don't?" is a question often asked by members, leading to great confusion. PLEASE VOTE!
  20. What it boils down to is individual discretion. We don't over-rule one another if a topic is locked, for instance, unless a lot of people complain. But in regards to Transfer Talk, I am considering getting rid of the rule about deleting links from unreliable websites, because as you say, this is a discussion forum and doing that is defeating the purpose. Furthermore, the entire media these days just spouts bullshit, and we'd have nothing to talk about. We've actually been talking about this and I'm going to put it to a poll to see what everyone else thinks! As for the situation regarding Kez, just because she didn't reply doesn't mean I should demote her! Kez is actually one of our Admin team and she does a damn fine job in my opinion, but as you say she should have replied to you. Either way it's in the past and can we all stop this petty arguing? Its becoming annoying.
  21. I think I just said something along the lines of 'leave it'. Thank you. Haha I would... but it would spoil my alliteration
  22. He was tactically excellent tonight. From my match report:
  23. Tottenham beat Bolton in their FA Cup quarter-final at White Hart Lane on Tuesday evening to secure a Wembley semi-final against Chelsea on April 15th. The original fixture was abandoned after the horrific incident which saw Fabrice Muamba suffer a cardiac arrest moments before half-time, with the game finely-poised at 1-1. Goals from Ryan Nelsen, Gareth Bale and Louis Saha scored for the Londoners, whilst Kevin Davies knocked in Bolton's late reply as the game finished 3-1 in Harry Redknapp's favour. This result means Spurs will face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley next month, having drawn 0-0 in the Premier League just three days ago, as well as 1-1 earlier in the season. Everton and Liverpool will contest the other last-four tie. Click here to view the article
  24. Come on guys, let's not get personal and insult each other. This is a great night in our history, so let's try not to spoil it! Thanks for reading and commenting. Give me some reps you bastards! I don't have enough
