I love Ramires, but he's borderline useless out on the wing. The only reasons he is being played there are: Sturridge is even more useless He's fast We have no better options Moses will play more games than people expect.

PSG are going to dominate French - and possibly European - football for the next decade. And with King Carlo at the helm. Happy for him.

I refuse to be drawn into these petty squabbles, so there is little point trying to provoke a response with such posts. I thoroughly agree with what LDN has said on the matter. We make decisions both on impulse and after extensive deliberation, to ensure the smooth-running of this place in such a fashion that it is for the benefit of the majority. Utilitarian. If you don't like it, that's tough for you.

Well done, Pea Man.

After pondering over the action of discontinuing the Prediction League, I have made the decision to run the competition for the coming season once again. That means you can pit your wits against the best minds on TalkChelsea in an epic, season-long contest. Head over to the PL forum now - check out the revised rules thread (which has been streamlined ahead of the new season) and familiarise yourself with the set-up. The first topics will be put up soon!

Top three Premier League. Champions League semi-finals. Win either the FA Cup or Carling Cup. Win two from three out of the Community Shield, UEFA Supercup and FIFA World Club Cup. At least 20 goals for Fernando Torres. Minimum of 10 by January. If not - sell him, and sign another forward.

Ivanovic has become very inconsistent. He is poor going forward most of the time. The team had better offensive balance last season with Bosingwa in the side. Ivanovic is the better defender but he is no Ashley Cole when it comes to all-round competency. He is a centre back and nothing more than a makeshift full-back. Some competition for the position will keep him on his toes, especially as he will have to compete with Azpil, Luiz and Gaz to play in the defence alongside Terry and Cole.

Exactly. Dressing room policy dictates players that can't speak English very well have to sit next to John Terry, Frank Lampard and the rest of the English boys on the left of the dressing room. That will be where David Luiz learnt 'geezer' from.

Retire the number 11, lmfao. You do not retire 1-11 jerseys at big clubs. You honour them with a next generation of talent adorning them, ie. Real Madrid's number 7 belongs to its greatest players.

Xpert 11 - are you up to the challenge?

Wait until the season is over and then you will be drafted into League One. -
You're seriously talking about backing a signing because he speaks French? Oh my days...
-
Completely take back what I said about Moses. We do actually need someone like him afterall
-
^ done. Rep me bitch!

My player profiles are very boring. If its a fitting eulogy that you want, I'm your man. I'm so good with words I can make Malouda look awesome

If you are creating a new team, you will not be accepted until the end of the current season. If you have applied to take over a new team, either myself, Tomo-91, Terminator X or LDN Blue will accept you in charge of that particular team. Also, I can only boost during the close season, so if you have a really shit team you have a couple of options: Leave and get a better team (unlikely as all the 'good' jobs have gone!) Be very patient, be effective in the transfer market, invest in the youth academy, and persevere - and your players will get a boost soon. -
Yeah I just accept everyone's nominations tbh, regardless of number haha! No.

My vote goes to Hutcho_CFC

Due to so many people being nominated, I've gone through the entire topic and made a tally of the nominations for members. There were six members that all had at least three nominations, and they have been added to the poll, which will close on Saturday lunchtime, British time, or if we have a clear majority of 8-10 votes prior to that point. The nominated members (and the amount of mentions they had) are as follows: Ryan Davidson - 8 Duppy Conqueror - 8 Hutcho_CFC - 6 Manpe - 6 Jim - 4 Henrique - 3 Spike Spiegel would also have had three nominations had Capriciosso not withdrawn his nomination for him. Unlucky Also because I'm sick of your incessant whining, I intend to update the table of previous winners. [rigged poll](I'll also add all the future ones on for the next 12 months, as I already know who they are).[/rigged poll]. [Reichsfuhrer]Congrats to Hutcho_CFC for winning it this month![/Reichsfuhrer]

No, this is thread of the year, bitch -

Apparently an opening bid of €7 million was rebuffed. Marseilles want €10 million or so the rumours suggest.
-
^ Correct, but the calibre of opposition defences has somewhat improved since joining a Premier League side I actually don't particularly want Moses here. He's no better than what we already have, and come next season when de Bruyne returns from Bremen, he'll probably be shipped out himself. Put it this way, he is not Champions League material. He'd excel at a mid-table side like Sunderland, or perhaps at a top 10 side like Liverpool or Everton, but he is not the quality we are looking for in my honest opinion. This would be a token buy.
-
No such thing as a 'shit goal'. A tap-in from a yard that deflects in off the defender is better than a 50-yard volley that hits the bar, because it is a goal. You can't criticise the player because his goals aren't spectacular. He is a great goalscorer, not a scorer of great goals. It would be similar to watching a video of Raul's goals, 90% of them are him being a penalty box predator, but that does not make him worse than a consistent scorer of beautiful goals, such as del Piero.
-
I agree in part with that, there. Obviously different coaches and coaches from different footballing cultures look for different things, but I tend to focus on the weaknesses as much as the strengths, as I'm sure you do yourself. I do see your point, however. Cesar won't come to sit on the bench for Chelsea when he can be number 1 at a team like Spurs or Liverpool.
-
^ I reckon that's part of the bargaining to be honest. Kakuta will never make it here. Look at the growth of Mikel, from the player he was when he signed him, to one of the best defensive midfielders in the world now. Kakuta can't develop like that, because he isn't good enough. I know they're totally different players, but my point is Mikel was good enough at his age when we signed him to be EPL standard. Kakuta is nowhere near.

The Premier League's two best shotstoppers (obviously in my opinion only) are English - Joe Hart and John Ruddy. So I disagree heartily with that statement. However you will not get better than Turnbull in terms of a youngish British goalkeeper, so I see your point there.
