I have a Torres mini kit in the back of my car. Normally I have the normal side of the kit (like this) showing towards the rear window, but I've turned it around to show the TORRES 9 part of the shirt. Since I've done that, he's been sent off and suffered knee ligament damage. It's like some kind of voodoo doll!
-
Each to their own, apart from a couple of important clearances he had very little to do.
-
There was no logical reason to play him there against Spurs. But he did.
-
Hardly a surprise when we don't have any natural wingers in the squad. They all have a tendency to come inside, especially Hazard and Schurrle from the left.
-
I think we'll see something like this from José - Cech | Iva, Cahill, Terry, Cole | Mikel, Lampard | Ramires, Mata, Schurrle | Eto'o
-
Agreed. Plus, Schurrle's performance yesterday evening is worthy of retaining his place, as far as I'm concerned. Oscar has made as many appearances as anyone, and the most of any Chelsea player over the last 14 months. Deserving of an afternoon off, IMO.

Good performance, in the second-half in particular. All that is missing is the killer instinct in front of goal. We can focus on his assist and his good movement, but there were many instances where he wastefully shot from 25+ yards instead of making a simple pass - one such instance nearly saw us succumb to a 4v4 counter, and Lampard had to foul his man and pick up a yellow card. Just needs to work on his decision-making.

My match ratings: Cech - 7/10 - relatively untroubled, but he had to make a couple of saves, especially from those Stanciu efforts (one of which caused him the back injury).Ivanovic - 7/10 - an unspectacular and typically-solid performance, he did well in a defensive capacity and got forward very well. He is performing much better in an offensive sense. Definite improvement.Terry - 6/10 - imperious and untroubled. Relatively untested.Luiz - 6/10 - much the same as Terry - solid when called upon. Cole - 6/10 - he had little to do in a defensive sense as most of Steaua's attacking threat came down the opposite flank, but he did well to support Schurrle down the wing when he did, and played a decent game.Lampard - 6.5/10 - involved in moreorless everything. A brilliantly-take goal and a case study in attacking passing. Exposed once or twice with poor positioning, however.Ramires - 8/10 - magnificent performance. UMAD HATERS?Oscar - 6/10 - looked out of sorts in the first half, but he improved massively in the second half. Unlucky not to score when he fired against the woodwork. A workmanlike performance which demonstrates that when he doesn't perform the fancy flicks an tricks, he can still get stuck in in a defensive capacity.Mata - 7/10 - He's proved his point. He carried on his excellent form from the Tottenham game without going over-the-top. Just such a shame he hit the post, as his performance warranted a goal. Torres - N/A - didn't play enough to warrant a rating. Hope his injury isn't too serious. Same old Torres, whenever he puts in a decent performance he gets done by an innocuous injury. Schurrle - 8.5/10 - man of the match, but only just. His best performance for us. The haters will say "its only Steaua", but Andre is a player whose game revolves around confidence, and he exuded it here. Really deserved a goal.Subs - Eto'o (7/10), Willian (6/10), Azpilicueta (6.5/10). I also hope you all enjoyed my commentary!

Every time we have a game I do the commentary for, the game is shocking - luckily my commentary is absolutely incredible

I'll be providing text commentary on the twitter page tonight, bitches!

He shouldn't have done what he did when he raked his hand across Vertonghen's face, but Torres at his best at Liverpool was a petulant bastard. Sarcastically clapping the referee and getting all fired up like that is another glimpse that the old Torres is in there, somewhere. We just don't see enough of him. I still maintain that if he can put in the sort of all-round performances he has in his last three starts (Bayern, Swindon and of course yesterday), he is the best option we have up top right now. It's early days with Eto'o but we have to be realistic with him - whilst he adjusts to life in London and the pace of English football, is Sammy going to be able to compete with these performances by Nando? I don't think he can, being brutally honest. I hope I am proved wrong, because two forwards playing decent football means better competition - and that's the only way our striking options will improve.
-
Fair point. He certainly wasn't brilliant yesterday, but I think people need to re-watch the moment involving the Spurs goal - it was Lampard who lost his man rather than Mikel. Nevertheless it was a sloppy goal to concede. With Mikel yesterday, his withdrawal was more tactical than down to his own individual performance. There was space to exploit and Mikel isn't the man to facilitate that. So whilst I would would agree that he looked more like his "usual self" yesterday, his withdrawal was moreso down to the fact Mata was better suited to the match than he was himself. I'm not exactly a Mikel fanboy but I do appreciate his contribution to the team - but I have to concede that, whilst he wasn't our worst player yesterday (I thought Lampard had a lackadaisical game in truth), he certainly didn't put in the same some of panache we've seen in the last couple of matches. Typical Mikel, really!
-
I watched him quite closely yesterday. Was he that bad? Or are we just being a bit too unrealistic with what we want from young Eden?
-
Torres didn't even clip Vertonghen. The ball was going out for a corner, Jan knew he wasn't going to get the ball, so he threw himself to the ground. It wasn't even a convincing dive - the delay was embarrassing. If that had have been at the Bridge, he'd have been booked for simulation. Vertonghen got Torres sent off; no doubt about it.

No, you're speaking to someone who really doesn't give a damn whether you're banned or not, but you're certainly heading the right way for it by arguing the toss. It's clear you get off on being an attention whore, so I'll do my sanity a favour and add you to my ignore list. -

You go around causing trouble. You bait arguments and deride people constantly, whether you realise you are doing it or not. Right now you have two options; lay low and keep your head down, or alternatively keep arguing the toss. I get roughly half a dozen reports complaining about your attitude - should I simply ignore that and carry on? Thin ice indeed, so tread carefully. I won't need to look for a big excuse to ban you if you carry on being such an attention-whore. -

Sorry Kojo but I'm going to back my staff member here and agree that you have the tendency to make a mountain out of a molehill. I've also noticed that you find it acceptable to name-call but if anyone says anything derogatory towards you, you don't like it. Just advising you to either be a little more thick-skinned, or stop being so melodramatic. -
When you look at it from this angle, it's clear to see why Nando was sent off. Raised elbows.

HAHAHAH UNITED HAHAHAHA
-
He was brilliant today, but obviously that's what Eto'o does in every game as well.
-
Since Ba is useless and Eto'o will no doubt play against Norwich, José might as well continue with Fernando up front. European football is his forté.
