  1. This will obviously not be the end of it. We are talking about English football here. He will probably end up with a 10 game ban which comes into force in 2015 once the FA have come to a 'quick' decision in their kangaroo court.
  2. There are loads of players that get said treatment up and down this country (Terry, Suarez, Rooney, etc) - He surely has the character and mentality for that not to affect him.
  3. He's bang on! Hazard is in the wrong, just accept his red card and mandatory 3 game ban and learn from it in the future. But the ball boy 'instigating the situation and then cry foul for next to nothing' is spot on. You'll seriously have people compare this to Cantona I bet and push for him to be banned for the rest of the season. I wouldn't even be surprised if somebody makes a complaint to the police for GBH!
  4. He should have known better but let's me honest this doesn't warrant anything more than the usual 3 game ban. My biggest worry is with the media circus in this country and the obvious difference in rules between (i) Chelsea, (ii) Man Utd and (iii) the rest of the league, the FA will find some form of ridiculously inflated ban for him.
  5. The most embarrassing thing is the little fucker will become a celebrity in this country overnight, with the English media culture and likely 'Sun Exclusive Interview' to follow...
  6. If he knew he was going to be sent off for it he should have stamped on the little pricks head!
  7. Does this point to Daddy Beckham moving back to the Prem?QPR or West Ham maybe?
  8. Rijkaard is hugely overrated - he's lived off the reputation of his time at Barca where he had the likes of Ronaldinho, Deco and Eto'o in their prime and has done nothing since.
  9. I agree about the inexperience. Toronto what would your opinion be on someone like Michael Laudrup? He hasn't had the opportunity to manage at the highest level but has good experience both on the continent and in Europe, has always set his teams up to play good football, always comes across well in the media and I think his playing career also demands a certain respect.
  10. Yep Zola has previously been quoted saying Roman has always treated him well and a job offer was always on the table as a coach, but Zola only wants to return in the future as manager.
  11. I echo many of you - I'm worried we are fast running out of options available. The board have to accept a shift to a more long term viewpoint and provide a project to anybody who comes in.
  12. Klopp would be a great fit having proven himself already in one of the top European leagues and in Europe with an exciting brand of football played by a predominantly young team. However the most important thing over everything is the club starting to show a long term plan and vision which has so far been lacking. A short term 'must win' mentality is fine when we're winning trophies, but eventually it catches up with you and now we are starting to see the damage of sacking endless managers and letting a team grow old together before trying to rebuild it over a summer.
  13. If we had to make a straight choice between Torres or Benitez leaving, knowing that the other would be here for another 2-3 seasons, which would people choose?
  14. He would be a great signing IMO. He would add quality to our midfield, and a real strength and presence in the middle. Add to that the importance of having a player able to step in straight away - he is proven in the Premier League and already settled in London. Sometimes with some players you just have to take a chance with them to see if they will adapt to playing at the top level, and for £3.5m it is a very small risk to take. We all already saw first hand what he did to us this season, he almost single handedly won that game for West Ham. We couldn't cope with his mix of pace, power and athleticism, matched with what is an underrated football ability. If he were to come here and prove himself then we have pulled off a coup, and if he were to come here and struggle then there are still likely to be a number of clubs who would be willing to give us a profit on the player in 12-18 months time. If we had a choice of Diame for £3.5m, and Fellaini for £22m+ (who let us not forget is also unproven at the very top level of football), I would go with the low risk option and sign Diame.
  15. Wasn't a problem for Romeu playing in the Spanish second division - if he's good enough, and our scouts seem to think he is, then sign him up. I like low risk transfers that pay off down the line!
  16. Torres has been positive for one thing - my wife's pregnant and it may be to do with my frustration at how lame Torres is and having to show him the art of shooting and scoring properly
  17. Does it need to be English? Arsenal never had that when they went the season unbeaten. England is a pure, overrated footballing nation and i'd rather excellent players from across the world as opposed to average or good English players.
  18. Being linked today with Modric - would love him to come here finally. Especially if we got him for less than Real paid for him and what we offered Spurs 18 months ago. Would really rub it in Spurs faces!
  19. I agree, I think he's a good player in a good team. But he isn't anywhere near the level to match the money Shakhtar want for him.
  20. Please any potential deal involve Torres going the other way!!!
  21. Yep agree - don't forget Blackburn have won a Premier League title...something those dirty scouse bin dippers have never done!
  22. If the deal was right I would still be inclined to take a punt on him.
  23. Demba Ba will score goals if he is given the opportunities. I actually worry that if the club persists with Torres we won't make the top 4. Starting Ba is a must!
