No I said he was our worst player against city because he was not defending as he usually does and his pass success percentage was shocking. Yesterday, it's pretty hard to say who was our worst player because everyone was competing very hard for that tittle. I do agree that Meireles has been a good player for us so far, but to say that our midfield is disjointed without him is over the top in my opinion.

What Torres' fan club doesn't realize is that players are selected to start a match based on their performance in training. So Torres has obviously not been putting enough effort in training as he has not put enough effort in most of his matches at Chelsea. Besides, AVB said that he is not for sale at any price...which translates to "He will be gone by July at most".

Andre by no means is to blame for yesterdays set back. Our players gave very little effort throughout the game. The contrast in the players workrate between yesterday and Monday is shameful imo. Fatigue maybe an issue, but still the performance was unacceptable in my book. I feel the squad let AVB down. Regarding the subs. Taking Romeu was spot on because we didn't need a CDM with the way Wigan were playing and Kalou actually made a couple of good runs when he first came on. Mata had to come off to be rested before Tottenham first and because he was having his worst game in a Chelsea shirt; Mikel came on to break up the wigan attacks after we scored. Malouda then came on because we needed a winger and we couldn't risk Danny anymore with Wigan playing so physically after conceding. Of course we would all have preferred if Malouda and Kalou hadn't come on, but unfortunately those are the players that we have on our bench. Bottom line is, I really don't see what AVB did so wrong to deserve all the bashing he is getting from a lot of users oon this forum.
