I don't want to go off topic with a long post, I realize that football is about money these days but in short, the big deal, for me at least, is that whenever footballing benefit crosses with making money, our club seems to choose the latter while for example Bayern can manage to choose football while still remaining a top club.

Actually that is exactly the point (which I said in my first post). That is the principle that I was talking about. The club insisting on choosing business ahead of football. We actually did better than I thought we would. Torres and Ba both missed clear cut chances and Ake was so unlucky right at the end as well. But it does matter, to the fans, to the players, to the club's image. Imagine how Luiz would have felt and how much would he have loved the club had he been given the arm band.

Really? There are tens of quotes from Torres blaming our "slow player" and our team playing style for his inability to score a goal even if it were an open net. Then he had the nerve to say to criticize the club and say he wants to leave minutes after we've won the biggest trophy in our history (no thanks to him). I swear most football fans only have short-term memory.

Rafa has nothing to do with this. It's just the club, yet again, putting advertisement and shirt sales ahead of something that matters to people who genuinely care about the club.

Torres has made it clear on countless occasions that he does not care about Chelsea, only about himself. Go read his comments blaming the club, the players and even the fans every time he goes on one of his many goal droughts. Heck, just check his quotes after last season's CL win. Torres does NOT deserve the honor of leading a Chelsea side.

Yes, I think it is disgraceful to give the armband to Torres who's done very little for this football club ahead of people like Luiz, Ramires Hillario and Mikel.
