The vast majority of the hundreds of Chelsea fans I know and can read their opinions believe that Frank has been generally bad this season. If you want to go into classifying who is "worthy" and who is not, then I'm not going to join you, sorry.

Just check what people are writing here and who they want to start the next match. Check the Schalke match thread. On Twitter as well. When I was doing the match feed yesterday, everyone was tweeting me about Lampard and how Rami-Mikel should be our starting pivot.

I thought you were talking about the end of the season before that where he was in decent form. So Sandro was the second best DM in England after Carrick for 3 months (although you could argue that on form alone, Schneiderlin was better as well). And to think he's not in the shortlist for the Ballon d'Ore!

I think he would have gotten some minutes against Schalke had he done better vs Arsenal becasue Jose looked furious with everyone who played yesterday. Doubt it happens now, though.

Well, Mikel has been very good in every single appearance he's made for us this season bar 45 mins at spurs while Frank has had more bad games than good. There are no excuses why he continues to be selected.

Well that's the million dollar question, isn't it? Why is Jose persisting with Frank even though the vast majority of people can see how bad he has been? Is Jose playing him because of his past glories? Or can he see something that we all can't? This is completely beyond me, but I hope we fix it soon because it's costing us games.

I was with you until you said Sandro. It is completely irrational how overhyped that guys is, especially if you consider that he's spent most of his time in England injured. On topic, I think most reasons of why not have been covered. If we are going to experiment at CM, the logical choice would be KDB, not Oscar.

Him performing well was not by any means the norm so far this season. He had 3 good games in a row but he was bad at the start of the season (not as bad as yesterday, though). In fact, he's had more bad/average games than good ones this season and with different combinations of teammates and different type of opposition. So No, it doesn't make sense to try and blame his awful performance yesterday on someone else. In the first half yesterday when the game was looking like a very easy one and we should be able to score, Lampard misplaced 8 of 29 passes, 6 of which where easy short ones that you'd expect any one to make. The thing is, most of those misplaced passes came during transition when we had loads of space to exploit. He broke up so many of our attacks by misplacing passes or picking the wrong pass or taking too many touches on the ball. If we had played any other CM option instead of him, we would have most likely scored in that first half, it's as simple as that. And that's without mentioning his defensive "work". He had one defensive action in 70 minutes! How he even made it to 70 minutes is beyond me..

Indicator of what he might be saying behind the scenes. The players are definitely getting hair dryer treatment. Expect changes against Schalke and hopefully players who are fighting for their lives on every ball.

I don't think anyone can subjectively dispute that, but you can't deny either that Bertrand's performances this season have been better than all of Ash's (bar City, maybe). I'm not at all suggesting that this small sample is nearly enough to say that Ryan is better than Cole, but don't you think that it should be enough to give Ryan more chances especially that Ash is not exactly setting the world alight?

I'll rewatch it only because I need an excuse to get out of studying tomorrow morning

I know him. Got a lot of potential and it definitely won't hurt if we get him, but he's one for the future.
