Luiz was pretty bad and gave the ball away almost everytime he got by trying some ridiculous hollywood pass, Ash's positioning was terrible for someone of his experience, Eto'o did absolutely nothing whe he came on except give away a needless penalty, Ramires passing was....Ramires passing and Cahill had more completed passes to Atetico players than to teammates. Eden made a couple of defensive mistakes that ended up costing us, but if everyone else was doing their job they wouldn't have. Take those two mistakes away and he was one of our best performers and the only one causing the Atletico defense some trouble.

Are we really criticizing Eden for the goals? There were so many individual mistakes yesterday. In those same first and third goals we had about 6 defenders in the box who all decided to play spectators. In the third goal Turan had the time and space to take a free header inside the box and then tap in the rebound without anyone even reacting! Even if you want to pick out players for defensive mistakes, which this isn't a time for, imo, it would not be Eden who you would pick out.

Not really the point. The team has over-achieved simply by reaching this semifinal, so us going out tonight is not a "failure" you would pin on someone. You of course have the right to criticize Jose and blame him for tonight's result, and some have indeed done so, but that is completely different from cynical knee-jerk crap like "No bus parked, no win. Jose is a genius!" which is far from constructive criticism, not really thought through, and frankly makes us look fickle plastics. If you want to criticize the manager who has led us this far, even though this is not the time for it, at least construct a proper argument.

No they're not. I don't think I've ever seen Tom overly criticize or insult one of our players. And that's besides the point which was the bashing of our players is completely uncalled for since they have already exceeded expectations by taking us so far. This is a moment to reflect and be proud of the boys, it's not a moment knee-jerk over-criticism and it certainly isn't a moment for cynical swipes at other members and starting petty arguments.

Proud of all the boys. Great achievement to have even reached this stage. Game plan went very well, but individual mistakes cost us. Can't slate the defense that has been so immense all season for one bad game. This wasn't our day, but we'll be there next season. KTBFFH! :blue scalf:
