  1. Rami still not 100% fit? Not even on the bench.
  2. How lucky were Arsenal? First that terrible offside decision, then the bar and WBA missing open shots.
  3. Well, it's official. I'm not eating turkey ever again
  4. Exactly why I hate late kickoffs. It's like the whole day you're being teased. Give me my Chelsea already!
  5. Basically Egypt right now: To paraphrase Noam Chomsky, as an imperialistic state, when your favorite tyrant/dictator is trying to suppress a revolution there are three steps that you take, and those have always been true throughout history: 1- Support the tyrant fully until the army or the businessmen turn against him. 2- Give glowing speeches and empty rhetoric about how you support freedom, democracy and the right of the people to decide their fates. 3- Try your best to replace the fallen regime with one that is almost identical to it. These have been applied to perfection in Egypt.
  6. Never heard of him and that has got to be one of the most deluded football opinions I've ever heard.
  7. This is one of the reasons why I dislike WBA:
  8. Same here and that was one of the worst matches I've ever seen. The Newcastle players looked like they wanted to get relegated. They just needed a single goal to stay up and they never went for it. I can never forget in the the Newcastle players putting the ball out of play in added time because an opposition player was down with a foot injury!
  9. I want to know what Iva did! The video starts with commentator saying "Huge mistake in the defense. Branislav Ivanovic almost gifts Sunderland the opening goal."
  10. Those are actually excellent suggestions. CC: @Jim No, the price for that is still one BJ as you know very well!
  11. Anyone else think Rodgers will get the sack after Liverpool lose to Stoke? I can honestly see it happening. That's 19 games per season. He's literally been injured for half of his career!
  12. Roman has been a good boy this year, so on Christmas eve Santa is coming down his chimney (or the helipad on his yacht) with Leo Messi as a gift. He certainly fits in his bag..
  13. IIRC, he said in a interview (or maybe a documentary, I can't remember) a couple of years ago that his family had always moved with him but that they enjoyed London the most. I also remember reading somewhere that in his last season in Madrid, his daughter was attending college in London. So, you're both kind of right.
  14. Yes, I'd imagine they'd have more than 14 players available!

  16. Let's be honest here, Harry never had 'it' in the first place!
  17. That would actually be a pretty good move if he can get into the starting XI.
  18. Wouldn't be the end of the world. We WILL lose a game eventually, I wouldn't mind it happening now and getting it out of the way to take some pressure off the players. The talk about the unbeaten run and the invincible season has gotten beyond ridiculous.
  19. Chomsky on Obama and Martin Luther King: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3YeIqpDVwI That may be true, but racism in the US is still a huge issue that is often entangled with class issues and you still have a LONG way to go towards equality. That is simply undeniable. Forget Mike Brown, look at how the police have treated the citizens of Ferguson since the incident. The majority white police of the mainly black town are using military equipment (which according to the army itself they have absolutely no need of) to cover up the obvious murder of a black teen by a white cop. If that is not racism then I don't know what is. Of course there are a lot who are taking advantage of this to loot and commit crime, but that does not in any way change any of the facts above no matter how much the police and media try. And calming things down is not necessarily making them better. That only ensures that the situation continues as it was before all this happened. No one has ever won their civil rights by calming things down. You need rage and often even violence if you want to change the situation which no doubt needs changing.
  20. We need to sign a top CB. Don't let the good run of form and the unbeaten run we're on fool you. Thinking ahead, or even for this season for the CL, we need a top CB. I honestly half expected us to sign someone this past summer and I am certain that we will get someone in the next two windows. First, the work load on Cahill and 34yo JT is just too much at the moment. It's lucky that we've had so many international breaks so that they can recover, especially John, but I still don't know how they're going to get through the busy Christmas period. A single injury to any of our defenders, and we'd have to play the same back four throughout the busy period and that's just a recipe for disaster. Even as it stands, one or two of the regulars (JT, Cahill, and Iva) are likely get burned out, or worse, suffer a muscular injury from exhaustion. From a tactical point of view, perhaps the only major weakness of our current side is the fact that we don't have a proactive CB to suite our style of pressing. We see it happen in almost every game, our midfielders press high and our CBs stay low because JT doesn't have the pace to recover and Cahill just shits himself if he has to defend 1vs1; this obviously leavse a gap between midfield and defense. We might be getting away with it now more often than not, but against top opposition in Europe you get punished for that. People talk about a right winger, but for me, the priority in the market is a CB in his prime and that is regardless of whether or not Zouma, or any of our other young CBs, get loaned out or stay.
  21. You think either will catch up him? I honestly doubt it. Messi is over 100 goals away and Ronaldo is 30 this season. Of course, the records can't be compared because of the completely different eras, though...
  22. Or yourself as their personal sex slave for a week I know you'd love it...
