  1. I think we need to go for a squad revamp next season. With AVB at the helm. The players e has brought have been the best performers and the only thing that's stopping us from playing well is the old guard. Out: Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Malouda although he has said he wishes to see off his contract, Terry although I am in two minds. Mikel needs to go. His habit of not releasing players and taking more than two touches hurts us time and again. Essien is crock. That's 7 players on sale next season. Unless try go and AVB brings in his players we won't be seeing the Porto football. He may bring in: Hulk, Hazard, KDB,
  2. Why is it that when mentioned about transition, everyone talks about players. Transition could also be from one management to another. We have a new management and backroom staff. New manager, asst. Manager, coach, opposition scout in a new league. The new manager needs time to enforce his ideology on the squad. And the fact that he has got a load of old legs doesn't help much. If anyone expected him to turn on the style in first few months I'd say you are naive. He did show his tactical superioryi at QPR and Everton
  3. Some of the threads are just embarrassing on this thread. The fans have gotten used to the owners style of handling the managers. AVB Out? Seriously..Get a grip
  4. 1. There is ALOT to suggest AVB is a Fantastic Manager. The way we played with 9 men away at QPR was a tactical master peice. The way we played against Everton away, to grab a victory. Thats a place we always had trouble winning. It was almost Mourinho'esq 2. So? We havent finished outside top 4 have we? Last season we had idiots saying we would end up outside top 6 and we got 2nd. There are 6 teams and anyone could beat anyone and we can still finish top 4. Few bad results and every one starts panicking. How can you say their place was never in jeopardy specially when they finish 3rd twice in a row. I am sure at some points man Utd fans would have been thinking what you are thinking now. 3. He won Serie'A against an OLD Milan team and thanks to the fixing scandal. He is a good manager. But you miss the point here. Patience IS the key. Ancelotti won Champions League and you still wanted him out. Makes me think, you will only support a manager who makes us win all the time. Transition, Patience are words missing in your dictionary. 4. Against Man Utd we lost because of TWO offside Goals. These are NO tactical errors. Mikel taking 4 touches outside the box is not a tactical error, Luiz shoving a player in the box without being close to the ball isnt a tactical error. Terry slipping after a bad back pass from Malouda isnt a tactical error. Fucked up Refereeing at QPR isnt a Tactical Error. 5. Because, he has an ideology. Someone has to start somewhere. Ancelotti tried to play efficiently with these players last season, and it didnt work. something need to change. These players are past it. Give the guy a break. 6. True, but not proven? you must be joking. He earned his stripes by winning the quadruple. What has proven manager in Scolari given to this club? AVB is young and with the way we played at QPR and Everton, I am sure, if given time he will make us unstoppable. Regarding Patience, thats the point. you wont get your answers now as to where you'd end. Hence have Patience.... 7. I agree, but Josh is too young to be thrown in the premier league. Even Wilshere went to Bolton before regularly starting at Arsenal. He does play Sturridge often, he has been playing Torres, Studge Mata combo too. Romeu has been playing champions League and Cup games. The fact is that the players he has trusted the most are shining for example: mata, meireles, Studge and romeu. If he can bring in more young players to replace Malouda and Drogba, we will see better football. The irony is that the players making us suffer are the ones from Mourinho Era in Terry, Mikel, Kalou, Malouda, Drogba. But who do you think we can replace them with? If we keep playing josh and Lukaku, we wouldnt even end up in top 6.
  5. Yes because, the Spanish league isnt as pacy at the English League. England's game for years has been reliant on pace and power and you see the same characteristics in the way the teams play in the Premier League. La Liga on the other hand is slow. They rely more on possession than pace and power. If you see the way teams play in the la liga, their build up is usually very slow. Alot of horizontal passes and then one killer vertical pass. In England, you cannot play that football as teams wont let you pass around for that long not to mention you will see 2 layers of defence by the time you reach the opposition half. Neither can you play an expansnvie style of football. You will get slaughtered like us or like Manchester United untill few weeks back. Hence slow defenders in Pique and Puyol can cope up in that league but they would struggle in England.
  6. Things arent going well for us but part of being a fan calls for patience with your manager and team. AVB is a fantastic manager. He is only 34 but the way he has been dictating things around at Cobham, shows that he is exactly what we needed since Mourinho. AVB has bought in Meriless and Mata and promoted Sturridge. All three have done well so far but the rest of the 7 outfield players have been passed on from Ancelotti Era out of which 5 have been playing since Mourinho's Era. Now AVB has his own ideology. He likes playing attacking/expansive football. At the moment we dont have the horses for courses. Most of the players we have are suited to the efficient football we played. But AVB is trying to force his ideology on the team. It would be foolish to expect our team play like Barcelona in the first season. But hey, you got to start somewhere. Even Mourinho got spanked 5-0 by Barcelona last season trying to play like them. Look at Mancini at Man City. The team is flying. Everyone expected him to be fired last season but Sheikh isnt as trigger happy as us. Fergie went three seasons without winning anything in the process grooming the lethal combo of Ronaldo and Rooney and the rest is history. 3 title and a champions league after that. First season is always difficult. With January and Summer Transfer, AVB can bring more players to suit his football style. With right players and the exuberance of our young manager, there would be no stopping Chelsea in a season or two. The key is patience. Patience from the fans, patience from the board and patience from the owner. The club and fans MUST understand that there HAS to be a transitional period and this season it is. Next season, we could see players like, Kalou, Malouda, Anelka, Mikel, Drogba and dare I say Terry, leave. Thats 6 players who have been with us for last 4-5 years and who have been a part of the first 11. We could see young, fast, sexy football playing players like Hazard, KDB and the likes coming in. We can see a new core forming. Our Manager is the most sought after managers in the world. What he could bring to our team knows no bounds. All we need to do is back the team, back the manager and assume this season as one for transition. I for one would be happy with a cup or two and a top 4 finish. A Champions League is a lottery. But with the amount of goals we are leaking. We will be done on the away goal rule. But come to think of it, the goals we are leaking are due to individual errors. The games we are losing are due to individual errors. The man has had ZERO luck so far. 2 offside goals and a pinball goal at OT, Terry slips at 3-3, Mikel fucks up, Terrible Refereeing at QPR does us not to mention error by Luiz to concede the penalty. You cant fault the manager for these mistakes. So, lets lower the expectations in this transitional period. Give the man a chance. Winning 4 trophies and not losing a single game throughout the season is a feat no ordinary, no matter what league. He is Special and I hope we are patient with him.
  7. Mikel is the problem. Not because he made the mistake but because with him in the side, passing is labored. He takes too many touches which slows the play down, allows the opposition to get into position, and like you saw it today, causes fuck ups. Without him in the side, there was alot more intent to go ahead.
  8. I saw some IDIOTS making comments that Chelsea aint a Big Club anymore. Well...... FUCK OFF TO MANCHESTER CITY
  9. Thats the one I was talking about.....The other group looks goood
  10. It's been 4 years? Time flies by. Nice knowing all. I remember I was on the old forum and for some reason it went down and Stuart aka aesthetic relic told me that the forum has Moved to talkchelsea
  11. I was in few weeks back....but thought id give you the update to make you feel better..lol. Give them time, they will join.
  12. Why are you talking as if he has been proved guilty? Police have charged him like they charge any suspect. His fate will be decided in the court. I dont know if the court is going to get some lip reading expert. Usually if there is even a slightest of doubt the Court doest not hold the suspect guilty. It is a shame that Chelsea fans are falling for this Anti-JT media frenzy. Back him till he is proven guilty...
  13. True, their ancestors bore the full brunt of racism and these black millionaire footballers roaming in fancy sports cars and living plush life all of a sudden start playing victims of racism just because a south american who speaks latin calls him a negro which in latin is black and is a word that was used by martin Luther King in his speeches and the other apparently is disturbed because the England captain apparently called him a fucking black a word that was advocated by Malcom X. If only they weren't such pussies and had acted like men.... I was speaking to an Indian guy today at the my work place. And he told me that after 911, during one of his mid terms, he and another white guy got the same answer wrong but the professor deducted 20 marks for the wrong answer while the white guy only had 5 marks deducted for getting the same answer wrong. All he told me was I could have raised the issue about being discriminated because of the race but instead I decided to work my ass off and not give the dickhead an opportunity to deduct any marks on my final. He got an A+ in his final. This is a Joke....If JT gets punished, Anton's had it from fans specially JT fans. May not be in the stadium but he will be subjected racist comments on streets or twitter or FB. Because he made a big issue out of it. Had he just ignored it, and given JT benefit of the doubt things would have been just normal for everyone.
  14. Well....warnie 666 isnt the lawmaker in England is he?
  15. Absolutely agree with Poyet. Laws in England are just stupid.
  16. I guess it's racist cus we can't refer to them as that now. Africans were widely called Negros untill 70s And it wasn't considered offensive atall. Americans were and are still called yanks or Yankees. No one takes offensce. Negro was ne'er an offensive word untill civil rights movement. Aragones was 67 when he said that to Reyes. My grand parents called Africans Negros when I was a kid and they meant no harm cus they grew up refering to blacks as Negros. Infact some old blacks would rather take offense if you called them black and instead would be ok with the word Negro because of the era they grew up in.. Aragones has grown up calling Africans Negros which wasn't an offensive word back then. Our generation on the other hand has grown up to not calling the blacks as Negros. It is a Latin word after all not an abuse. It comes from the Latin word niger. There is a philanthropic organization called United Negro College Fund in the US. I guess they should be banned or sued or bombed. How dare can they use that word. infact in 60s Calling black a black was considered most offensive and racist and hence people refereed to them as Negros. Now Negro is offensive and hence we mist call them black. Wonder what are we gonna call them in couple of decades.
  17. Well thanks to those scousers counts standing has been banned. They don't learn from it. They trampled their own fans in order to get inside the stadium at Athens
  18. Really? I thought UK had these stupid laws And as bb said Anton is well within his rights to take JT down. A big man would have handled it maturely but this is just disgusting ridiculous and stupid. I have no sympathy for Anton whatsoever. Rot in He'll you cunt
  19. Now that I know how stupid the laws are I'd rather sit on the fence and watch Anton get humiliated.
  20. What does US foreign policy got to do with this. You slam an airplane into a building killing thousands and expect the US to turn a blind eye? It is not just the US foreign policy. But entire west foreign policy towards brown or black and I wouldn't say that's because west is racist. It is because the middle east/Africa is a haven for terrorists and non state actors. Add to that a rogue state like North Korea and the communist Vietnam. Not sure why you even brought that up as it has nothing to do with racism
  21. Like I said, in this day and age we are all equal. What happened in the past shouldnt dictate what happens in the present because it only creates differences. If Anton hadnt been playing victim, he wouldnt have been subject to those racist chants by Chelsea fans and racist remarks and death threats on twitter.
