No matter who comes this squad is past it's sell by date. Changing manager isn't the solution anymore
-
The players know that they won't get the boot. There is a sense of complacency as they know that like in the past 5 years it's the manager that will get the boot and not them. I say it's time these lazy ass old legs on fat pay checks are fired and we bring in players who are eager to prove their talent. Like Sturridge has this season... Mikel, Malouda, Anelka, Terry, Drogba, Kalou should go. Just go for the sake of the club and fans.
-
Two different managers but same players and same performances. That tells me that neither Carlo nor AVB is at fault. It's time the core of Chelsea gets the boot.

Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas

Thats exactly what I thought as I was typing it. Sadly, it is true....Our top players from Mou era are spoilt. When Fergie came to Man Utd, there was the booze culture and there were players addicted to drinking drugs and partying, Fergie's first objective was to get them on right path and let go of those who refused to tag his line. Bryan Robson was one of those who he got back on the right track. AVB has a similar challenge. He needs to get rid of the player power and the cliques formed and only then he can get the club back on the track. -

because while the managers kept changing the core formed by Jose in Drogba Terry Lampard and Cech have been constant. Any new manager will first have to appease them and then the squad. Not to mention The salaries these players are on and they are famous personalities. Also they are close to Roman since roman gives them his private yatch to party. A new manager in this case is almost an outsider to the clique formed at Cobham. -
Absolutely. There was a time when I used to have bad and depressed weekends when Chelsea lost. I was depressed for a week when JT missed the penalty. But now I dot let it affect me. I found out that not going on forums after the loss helps alot.

Absolutely what I am trying to say. Sir Alex always had problems with David Beckhams off field fancy lifestyle and even had issues with him marryig a pop star and that is why he let him move on to Madrid. Yes getting hit by the boot also played a part but he was already on his way out.. Similarly JTs off field issues are derailig our title challenge almost every year. I won't hold him guilty just yet for being racist but he attracts negative media attention almost every season which affects the team. Also JT and alot of people around at the club give the impression that he is untouchable. And going by past events I have no doubt that that's true -

Being loyal has nothing to do with this. David Beckham was loyal but was shown the door. You can't fuck around with the manager. And that is one reason why Alex Fergie is successful while at our club the owner listens to the Terry. -

Yes.. I am not saying he is past it. He had a tussle with Mou according to Maka and according to him Terry did play a role in Mou sacking. He never retracted that statement. Terry and couple of players complained against Scolari and got him sacked. He even tried to lead a coup during the world cup. Wasn't exactly a coup but the way he took on Capello in the media was something. It made me proud to have a player like that but you got to ask youdelf? Can someone as powerful as JT harm his own club? And the answer is yea. If he can do that to Capello and scolari he can definitely do it to AVB. In a tussle betn a player and manager the manager always must end up as a winner if not then something is seriously wrong at Chelsea and is what is holding back from moving on. -

Vinnie jones compared the situation of AVB at Chelsea to that of Fergie at Man uTd when he frat came in. And I absolutely agree with that. Vinnie Jones also mentioned that JT should move on if AVB has to stamp his authority. And I do beleive that. -
Best football forum for sure when it comes to friendly mods and admins and the freedom of speech that is encouraged. I had left the forum for a year and a half in betn to try out other forums but gotta say this ones the best and most busiest

Wouldn't go that far. What was all the hold up 2 seasons back when Man City were in for him and then he signs a 150k after weeks of silence. Regardig MLS he ain't that old. He is 31 only and still wants to play at the top level while earning shitload
-
Very true. Just look at how many touches e takes when he receives te ball. That's a habit he needs to get rid of sharpish. Romeu on the other hand looks sleek
-
Not if the lesser men were on 150 a week. But I agree. People are fickle fucks out here

Interesting point from Jamie considering He is Franks cousin. I don't want to veleive but I am sure he gets insider info from Lamps

I think we need to go for a squad revamp next season. With AVB at the helm. The players e has brought have been the best performers and the only thing that's stopping us from playing well is the old guard. Out: Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Malouda although he has said he wishes to see off his contract, Terry although I am in two minds. Mikel needs to go. His habit of not releasing players and taking more than two touches hurts us time and again. Essien is crock. That's 7 players on sale next season. Unless try go and AVB brings in his players we won't be seeing the Porto football. He may bring in: Hulk, Hazard, KDB, -
Why is it that when mentioned about transition, everyone talks about players. Transition could also be from one management to another. We have a new management and backroom staff. New manager, asst. Manager, coach, opposition scout in a new league. The new manager needs time to enforce his ideology on the squad. And the fact that he has got a load of old legs doesn't help much. If anyone expected him to turn on the style in first few months I'd say you are naive. He did show his tactical superioryi at QPR and Everton

Some of the threads are just embarrassing on this thread. The fans have gotten used to the owners style of handling the managers. AVB Out? Seriously..Get a grip -
1. There is ALOT to suggest AVB is a Fantastic Manager. The way we played with 9 men away at QPR was a tactical master peice. The way we played against Everton away, to grab a victory. Thats a place we always had trouble winning. It was almost Mourinho'esq 2. So? We havent finished outside top 4 have we? Last season we had idiots saying we would end up outside top 6 and we got 2nd. There are 6 teams and anyone could beat anyone and we can still finish top 4. Few bad results and every one starts panicking. How can you say their place was never in jeopardy specially when they finish 3rd twice in a row. I am sure at some points man Utd fans would have been thinking what you are thinking now. 3. He won Serie'A against an OLD Milan team and thanks to the fixing scandal. He is a good manager. But you miss the point here. Patience IS the key. Ancelotti won Champions League and you still wanted him out. Makes me think, you will only support a manager who makes us win all the time. Transition, Patience are words missing in your dictionary. 4. Against Man Utd we lost because of TWO offside Goals. These are NO tactical errors. Mikel taking 4 touches outside the box is not a tactical error, Luiz shoving a player in the box without being close to the ball isnt a tactical error. Terry slipping after a bad back pass from Malouda isnt a tactical error. Fucked up Refereeing at QPR isnt a Tactical Error. 5. Because, he has an ideology. Someone has to start somewhere. Ancelotti tried to play efficiently with these players last season, and it didnt work. something need to change. These players are past it. Give the guy a break. 6. True, but not proven? you must be joking. He earned his stripes by winning the quadruple. What has proven manager in Scolari given to this club? AVB is young and with the way we played at QPR and Everton, I am sure, if given time he will make us unstoppable. Regarding Patience, thats the point. you wont get your answers now as to where you'd end. Hence have Patience.... 7. I agree, but Josh is too young to be thrown in the premier league. Even Wilshere went to Bolton before regularly starting at Arsenal. He does play Sturridge often, he has been playing Torres, Studge Mata combo too. Romeu has been playing champions League and Cup games. The fact is that the players he has trusted the most are shining for example: mata, meireles, Studge and romeu. If he can bring in more young players to replace Malouda and Drogba, we will see better football. The irony is that the players making us suffer are the ones from Mourinho Era in Terry, Mikel, Kalou, Malouda, Drogba. But who do you think we can replace them with? If we keep playing josh and Lukaku, we wouldnt even end up in top 6.

Yes because, the Spanish league isnt as pacy at the English League. England's game for years has been reliant on pace and power and you see the same characteristics in the way the teams play in the Premier League. La Liga on the other hand is slow. They rely more on possession than pace and power. If you see the way teams play in the la liga, their build up is usually very slow. Alot of horizontal passes and then one killer vertical pass. In England, you cannot play that football as teams wont let you pass around for that long not to mention you will see 2 layers of defence by the time you reach the opposition half. Neither can you play an expansnvie style of football. You will get slaughtered like us or like Manchester United untill few weeks back. Hence slow defenders in Pique and Puyol can cope up in that league but they would struggle in England.
