Mourinho was a person who dint like interference. It is widely speculated that Arneson poked his nose in the transfers of players along with Roman which was Jose's department. Also, it was beleived that Arnsen wanted the Academy players to be given a fair chance in the first team in cup competition. But Jose being himself never wanted an outsider to mess up his team. Jose stuck to his players and hardly gave a good run to the players from the academy in the first team. With the exception of Sinclair, the likes of Woods, Sahar, and couple of other academy players got a look in for few mins in a match or two and nothing more. Arnesen was trying to push these youngsters in the first team but Jose was against it. This is why Jose and Arnesen never got along. I agrre with Grant that we are still in the Race. Last year with 2 injuries in our squad we struggled to win at home. This year with 8 injuries in our squad we are winning away and at home. Last year it was just Man Utd and Chelsea and other teams were well below power. This year its Arsenal Chelsea Man utd Pool Citeh Villa all rite behind each other cabale of beating each other hence 6 points behind the leaders this season is no big deal when compared to the last season. And btw....Last year Jose couldnt organise a defence without terry, and we drew 2 games at home against weak teams like fulham and some other team. Drew again at Villa ( away) on the new year. Inspite of losing only Cech and Terry. Look at us this season. We dont have half of our team and we are still up there. winning away games. Look at the positives of your manager rather than paying minute attention to his negatives. No one blamed Jose when his defense gave away last minute GOALS against weak teams. WE COUDNT DEFEND then. Add to that the injury list.. It is Worse than what it was last year with Jose at the Helm. Last year we missed Terry and Cech this time its Terry, Cech, Carvalho, Lampard, Drogba, Sheva(just when he gave his best performance in blue shirt), Malouda. And still we are in the same position as we were last year under jose and thats 6 points away from the leaders in the new year. Grant did this, with players he dint choose, with players who dont fit his style of play, with players chosen by another manager. He did this when the team hit rock bottam after Jose left. He did this when his side has kept losing its top players while Arsenal and Man Utd are playing with full squad. and still we are rite up there.
