  1. Nice to see you popping in. Like others have mentioned, it's always great to interact with other supporters in a civilised manner. Unfortunately that's pretty rare on forums. City fans do seem better than your bffs and those scousers
  2. What he's saying is true (and what Jamin has been saying since the incident happened lol) but he needs to cool off for a bit and get a couple more good results first
  3. Yep this is looking very likely now. For 6-7 million I think it would be a decent buy. He'll be 3rd choice behind JT and Luiz. Ivanovic will be the 1st choice RB.
  4. Yeh what Redknapp said about Steve Kean being someone to be under real pressure by the media and fans is true. I feel for that guy. He hasn't done that bad a job and hasn't been helped by pathetic owners and yet the fans just crucify him week after week. AVB's comments after Valencia were still ok imo because he was pumped up and frustrated by the media which I can understand but he needs to drop it now and also stop talking about Neville and co because they are pundits and the majority of them are morons anyway. He's not going to change their minds because they are naturally biased and the comments that he's made will actually make them against us even more. Also I thought Gary Neville was very fair in his commentary on Tuesday. I've also read comments by regular Sky viewers that his punditry is unbiased as well. lol hmm I think I agree with him though
  5. ^ Look at the sources from which you have quoted...............
  6. All 4 others are deserving but I went for Laylabelle
  7. Damn you FB. I was about to do a cartwheel in celebration.
  8. Most of my frustration towards Torres is not purely because he hasn't been scoring. It's because from the moment he joined us until now except for 4 or 5 games, he has shown the skills of an average footballer. When he tries to dribble, he loses the ball. When he tries to run past a player, he loses the ball. He has lost pace and is so bereft of confidence that it is extraordinary. His run that set up Kalou's goal against Newcastle..... The old Torres would have scored that. Look at the goal again. He almost lost the ball due to poor control. His assist for Mata against Leverkusen was similar. Old Torres woulda scored that. I agree that my criticism can be over the top at times but it's purely due to frustration and he hasn't been helping himself on occasions by showing no interest on the pitch
  9. Night games are special. Believe we can put up a special performance Come on you blues! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
  10. We have bigger things to worry about atm. Lets just take the CL one step at a time. Lets first see which team we get next Friday. There's a two month long break before we even have to play them. Who knows what kind of form we may be in then. Like others have said though, it may come to us this season simply because we don't expect to win it for the first time since Jose arrived. Even under Carlo last year when we were struggling so much in the Prem, but there still was tremendous pressure on him and the players to do well in the CL. This season, it is obvious that Roman is willing to let AVB take things slow but steady. We won't be under the same pressure as we are used to. Doesn't mean we should get our hopes up, lol. We aren't good enough to win but doesn't mean that we can't. If we do get past the round of 16, and if luck is on our side, we can end up on the "easier" half of the draw with a few of the "better" teams on the other side knocking each other out. The other 15 teams that are still in this competition: Bayern, Napoli, Leverkusen, Inter, CSKA, Arsenal, Marseille, Benfica, Basel, APOEL, Zenit, Real, Lyon, Barca & Milan That has definitely got to be one of the weakest group of teams that have made it to this stage in recent memory. The highlighted teams are the biggest threats. With luck, a couple of them will immediately face each other in the next round. Then if we get lucky in the quarters and end up on the good half of the draw, who knows?
  11. Very aggressive approach, if true (but I doubt this is true) Can go extremely wrong or extremely right. Agree though that the players do need some strong handling.
  12. Yeh that's why I said "apparently" in the original post lol. Twitter rumours are definitely unreliable. The rumours say that the story is going to be in the papers tomorrow though
  13. yep Really hope this isn't true because it's just so sad. Same thing happened to JT's brother's team-mate who allegedly committed suicide after finding out his wife had been having an affair with Paul Terry
  14. Apparently, Duncan Ferguson had an affair with his wife for 13 years and is the father of one of their kids :o
  15. He could easily be a 20goal a season midfielder if his touch and technique was better. He's definitely on his way to at least 12 goals though
  16. His natural instinct is the try to score, so it's understandable that he hesitates with the pass. Also it is important to remember that he has only had a season of consistent first-team football. Before this all he was getting was substitute appearances and reserve team football. He will learn!
  17. Drogba was brilliant but I voted for Romeu because I was very impressed with his performance, especially considering it was his 4th match in 11 days and his first taste taste of "real" Champions League football (decent oppo, tremendous pressure before the game). He did look nervous in the first half but he has great strength of character to be able to keep going and change it. Also the third goal was all him. Terrific header to set it up. You can see that all the players around him are static. Even Meireles was signalling to him to calm the play down with a header towards the defenders or something. But he has the awareness and vision to see that Valencia players are all centered around him and Mata has a bit of space and puts that header in the perfect spot.
  18. Another two assists for Mata. He must be on, like, 15 assists already or something. okay, agreed (for now). His effort and work-ethic in the last few weeks has been impressive. Even before half-time yesterday you could see that he was knackered and was struggling. But he still tried in the 2nd half. He doesn't have the energy to run around chasing defenders like mad or track back any more, but he still does a decent job of pressing when the ball is near him. Hope he can continue this good run of form going into the Christmas period. He'll be going for the ACN, won't he?
  19. Thanks for the mentions guys So many to choose from... the few that I was thinking of have already been nominated, so I'll go with Super-Frank
  20. I know what you mean, and I definitely think Drogba should be playing instead of Torres. I've been saying that since his Wolves performance and was even more convinced after Newcastle. What I meant was, he is going to be 34. It's obvious he doesn't have the legs to play like this every match. So I feel like he'll want to conserve his energy and only "play when it matters" which he has done in the past. An uninterested Drogba is not a good thing to have. Also, do we really want to give him a 2 year deal? He's 33!!! I don't mind if we give him a two year deal if the 2nd year is on a pay-as-you-play deal or something like that.
  21. We drop the high-line defending and suddenly JT and Luiz look world-class Didn't realize it would make this much of a difference. Hope we have scrapped the high-line for good now.
  22. Woohoo the forum's back up! Excellent excellent performance. Pretty much everyone was superb. Drogs!! what a beast! He's obviously playing for a contract, but it's nice to see he still has it in him! Whether he is willing to play like this all season....... I doubt it. I honestly think that if we offer him a new deal and he signs it, he'll go back to his "play when he feels like it" attitude. Romeu was SUPERB. What a game. The third goal was all him. Good pass by Mata but terrific header by Romeu to set it up. Everyone around him was STATIC and yet he managed to place that header into space for Mata to run on to. Class player.
