  1. The last one I received was on 15/08/08, has anymore been sent out since then? Also did anyone receive that member bulletin thing from Frank the other day, as I didn't???
  2. My membership pack came through just over a week ago, but still no magazine, so have emailed the club again about it today on [email protected] as I've tried using the online form on the website 3 times in the past month and not heard anything so doubt that it works properly.
  3. Not had that problem, but not received my first monthly magazine
  4. Would be nice, but no, no no!
  5. Drogba on form is formidable, but sadly that is a bit of a rarity, so why anyone would think that the sun shines out of his arse is beyond me, in my opinion Drogba didn't get us to Moscow on his own, but he did play a major part. We pay a lot of money to watch our club, and our club pays a lot of money for Drogba to perform, which he does as and when he can really be bothered, hence why he's not everyone's favourite player. He isn't the greatest striker in the world, and a club like ours can replace him very easily, except no-one was really that interested despite Drogs saying he wanted out, and his agent probably working his socks off to get him a deal at another club. A high price tag might put a lot of clubs off, but in reality it's his attitude that will put most off, as who wants to spend a vast amount on a striker who will probably say he wants to leave after a season or two?? People pay their hard earned to see him at the bridge, on sky etc etc, and when they see a piss poor performance they will have a moan, and quite rightly so. Best way to shut up the moaners is to play well, not sulk like a teenager and put in several more poor performances. Rant over, soapbox put away, good night
  6. Remember we beat Ipswich on penalties, same compo, 1/4 final if memory serves me correctly from that season as well.
  7. See your point and in a lot ways agree, but would rather JT gave as good he gets so to speak. JT was right last season, until Uncle Fester screwed things up. Ths year with a fully fit squad to choose from, and with Scolari's tactical nous, we'll blow those red shites away, and JT has done a grand job of making ol' Red Nose well aware of that.
  8. Not received my pack yet, although in saying that only got round to sorting it out about a week ago
  9. Kenyon is a prize prick, and IMO brings nothing to the club as he gets too involved talking about football, which he clearly (by his own comments) knows nothing about. I for one am concerned by our spending/debts, and am v.thankful to Roman for what he has done for the club and continues to do. Yes he could walk away, but (again) IMO I don't think he is the sort of man who would walk away and leave the club in a mess, as having put so much cash in, why would he seriously do that? We will become self sufficient eventually, but I strongly doubt it will be by 2010. Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it. Of course the day will come when Roman decides to call it a day, but I'm sure he'll give plenty of warning as he will realise (being an astute business man) that the club might not cope with wages without his money, so he would most likely stop signing players and wait until all high earners contracts are at an end etc
  10. Think Sheva will be our dark horse this season. Goal early doors could be the start of a big season for him. I hope anyway
  11. Spoilt for choice in the middle, which is great. Hope I'm not tempting fate (touches wood) but have a sneaky feeling that Drogs is on his way out and if we played Anelka and either Kalou or Malouda up front it could prove to be tactical genius. Let's take Tyler's lineup above for example. The back four is solid, and we have great cover on the bench. Have a four man midfield of Essien, Deco, Ballack and Lamps, with Essien effectively sweeping behind the other three. That would be awesome, Essien picking up the scraps, Deco working his magic and Lampard & Ballack creating killer final balls or going for goal themselves. Plenty of flair in there, and attacking options. None of those four are particularly good for hugging the touchline but, in Anelka and Kalou for example we have two strikers that can easily pull out wide and then allow Lampard and Ballack to take up central positions (along with who upfront hasn't pulled out wide) in the box, with Deco on hand to pick up any clearances. One word, Formidable!! As much as I love Drogs, if the above is the plan, which me and several others really hope it is, then I would rather see him go over Frank any day of the week.
  12. All great teams need two great keepers, we have that in Petr and Carlo. Why is Carlo a freeloader considering the years of service he has provided, and the fact that when called upon he has done a sterling job, and will continue to do so as long as the club want him to as he loves the club. SWP is fighting for a place, and hopefully in the not too distant future will be worthy of such a place on a regular basis. If we never saw him and read reports that he was happy with playing in the Reserves then yes, but as that's not the case he is no way a freeloader. Sadly Mr Pizzaro is not ever going to do anything, has been a major let down, and as someone rightly said we got the wrong Bayern forward. We would get more quality from Alan Carr up front, time to get rid asap.
  13. Hoddle got us going, playing better football, lured Gullit to the club and the years that followed have been nothing short of magic!! Roman made us a huge club, and Mourinho made us one of the best in the world
  14. Ahh the 7 - 0 demolition at the City Ground, the ribbing I got following that one. Had done alright up until now to block it completely from memory, cheers!
  15. Quality song, have it on my phone as my alarm in the morning. Nothing like waking up to a bit of Blue Day
  16. £20mil is a bit steep, but then you always pay more for the homegrown UK/Irish players. Didn't Manure pay a similar fee for Michael Carrick? Would rate Keano to be on par if not better than him
  17. Players always do get away with it and always will, as they can just put it down to a passing conversation when on England duty or whatever
  18. Been lurking for a while and thought I should register and join in.
