  1. Chelsea and Inter yearn for a return of Mourinho's magic
  2. I think AVB has tried his best to revoloutionise the squad with what he's got. We have to give to him give him credit for doing something, not many managers had the balls too give in and demote Lampard to the bench and stuff. I think you can't really have a revolution without trying to enforce a new style too. But I do agree, we need a plan B until the seasons completion, then we can fully implement AVB's philosophy. Afterall You can't make a Lamborghini with rusty parts. Alex and Anelka were probably two players that should've remained over others. But they wanted out so what can he do? I think he's done well with playing Sturridge, but Mceachran should've been used better. He's still made bigger steps in half a season that most previous managers in the youth department He's shown a lot of guts but dropping Torres would be a difficult task for anybody. The £50 million price tag virtually guarantee's him a spot.
  3. Chisora put up a suprisingly good fight. Disgusting when he slapped Klitschko, but what happened after was mad. Chisora v Baker
  4. Great stuff, reminded me of this instantly:
  5. David Luiz - the shining light of Chelsea FC.
  6. It's sad how most teams we play nowadays seem to have an upset written all over it. Nevertheless I hope we have a clean easy-viewing victory today.
  7. 100% certain, I've had it done once their and in JJB. It's not a difficult process, it takes like an hour or so because they have to schedule a slot. The actual process takes like 10-15 mins. You can purchase letters and numbers from the net and DIY if all else fails.
  8. Hurry and order from the Chelsea megastore now! I ordered both a David Luiz and Mata long sleeve home shirt for £37.50 each (without the badges) I think it was 25% off so order from their, it's the cheapest you'll get it. The goods came within 3 days too. Lettering only is something like £3.00 a number and a £1.00 a letter at Sports Direct or JJB (forgot which one, think it's JJB) if you just want the shirt printing done.
  9. This is kind of relavent to this thread, didn't want to create a new thread for it. Talk about being a Class A dick.
  10. Thought maybe we should have some sort of wishlist thread because a lot of the times it appears as though we are being linked with players in the Transfer thread when in reality it's us proposing the club to move for player X. What do you think? Yes or No?
  11. You know things aren't right when we're using shit as an analogy.
  12. Feel sorry for Ivory Coast, really wanted to see Drogba lift that trophy. He deserves so much more. Nevertheless congratulations to Zambia, a fitting tribute to the generation lost in the 1993 plane crash.
  13. Indeed. Most of the youngsters may compromise for one season, but nevertheless you want to see Chelsea fighting at the very top level. The Europa league is just a joke and I don't want to see us on channel 5 competing with Stoke.
  14. That's why I said its not the sole factor, because like I said money talks. I mean it did for them along with the project. However you can't deny its a decisive factor which many top players require. I mean look at Liverpool, a club with history also building a project so to speak isn't exactly attracting the best players. Money is a hugely decisive, but the UCL can make a difference. A top club needs Champions league football, for the prestige, money and the mere reason that every player wants to be playing at the very top level. If City didn't qualify for the UCL last season I can bet you some of their players would of left.
  15. Money talks yes, but Hazard specifically for example has outlined his goals. For me it's simple out of us or Arsenal whoever finishes in the top 4 will probably get him. The UCL is a BIG BIG attraction point, it may not be a sole factor but it can be decisive.
  16. We have to afford AVB another season. He was never going to be an instant success with the squad we have. I mean the basis of our team is so weak and that apart from Mata, Luiz and Ivanovic & Essien IMO, we don't have the materials of a truly top side. AVB was for the long term, his whole play and philosophy is one which will come gradually. Our aging players still make the base of our squad i.e. Cech, Terry, Lampard and Drogba when he's available. This is clearly a transitional season. He isn't the type of manager like Hiddink or Mourinho that can come in and get our players playing in a fashion to challenge in the short term. With our base living on borrowed time, and our squad consisting of some very average players it is difficult to get them playing in a way proportional to our aspirations. I don't think AVB has that in his locker, he's still playing us in a fashion as if we have a top squad. He need's to try and incept a B plan for us to run on until the end of the season. Weather that means Kalou coming in and playing on the wing for Mata to play attacking mid, or get Torres on the bench to Drogba's benefit, then so be it! Champions League is so important that I'm not going to explain it. All I'm saying is as much lye's in our qualification as does AVB staying. To attract the players we want, UCL is pivotal. If we fail their then this transitional season could be completely redundant. AVB's plan requires UCL as we need it to attract quality players such as Eden Hazard or Lucas. He's clearly manifesting a squad with the future in mind. So let's not be too brash in calling for his head. We all have good reasons to be agrieved, nobody ca be happy with how we're playing atm. Yes we may find temporary salvation in a caretaker manager such as Hiddink, but where do we after that? If AVB get's us in the top 4 then he's done the minimum of what was required. After that he will have summer to replace the old guard and get us the players we need to challenge.
