Immobility doesn't equate to sitting deep and no transition. Gerrard and Carrick have immense passing range that gets around their immobility. Xavi, Alonso and Busquets isn't the most mobile midfield in the world. But it seemed to work well enough for a World Cup and a Euro.
Maybe that would work. Johnson and Hart have been fucking awful though. Even Liverpool fans are sick of Johnson. I forgot about Wilshere to be honest. Maybe I could move Carrick to the DM spot and replace Barry with Wilshere.
The England national team fascinates me. Here is how I'd manage the bastards: Starting XI Lallana - Rooney - Walcott Gerrard - Carrick Barry Baines - Smalling - Jones - Chambers Forster Bench Hart Shaw Jagielka Milner Barkley Lambert Sturridge Reserves Ruddy Cahill Johnson Lampard Rodriguez
Refer to my signature and 'Fav Player' for your answer! Either way Kroos offers an immense versatility for the midfield. Players of his skillset and versatility are hard to come by.
I don't think anyone rates Josh McEachran anymore... Besides the club's scouts and Jose seem to be fond of Shaw and if the reports are true and if they are loaning out Bertrand while attempting to sign Shaw they must see something we don't.
This is 50/50 for me. I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed or left Bayern. Maybe he is worried that Pep will force him to play in a position that he isn't comfortable with or that he will become a bench player. Who knows what goes through that shiny bald head. I don't really think pace has anything to do with his playing style. He plays around his weaknesses and uses his strengths to his advantage. Xabi Alonso and Cesc Fabregas have never been quick but that has not stopped them from being able to play a high tempo attacking game with a splash of countering. He has the passing range and vision to get around this weakness.
You could also make an extensive list that compiles those that have struggled from the Eredivisie. Afonso Alves, Mateja Kezman, Ryan Babel, Marco Boogers among others.
