  1. He got 26 goals last season while being in and out of the team, also added 10 assists.
  2. How isn't Higuain good enough? his stats are very good, especially for a player who hasn't been a regular starter the past 2 seasons and was also out for 4 months the season before that. I'm defending him because he was one of the names i had in mind along with Soldado who has been very good in the scoring department for the past 2 seasons and is well on his way to the same kind of numbers this season also. And i don't think we need "one of the best" strikers. We need someone that is more efficient than Torres, simple as that. For all Torres' faults he still has 13 goals this season, that is not bad for any other striker in football - but we all see him every week and know how many chances he screws up and how badly he plays.
  3. Lewandowski is going to leave BVB at the end of the season for less than 20m, he's not going to sign a new contract like Kagawa. The problem is, Man utd are being linked with him more than anyone, and i think they'll get him. I think you're right about Napoli not selling Cavani which is a shame, he just signed a new deal last summer too which makes things difficult. And finally i'm sure they're a lot of good strikers out there for less than 35m. Cavani and Falcao are two of the best, but doesn't mean others are shit.
  4. No. I think anything above 35m is too much for any player (obvious exceptions, Messi, Ronaldo, Iniesta)
  5. Oh of course, i was just talking about Lewy being more than just a goal scorer. Cavani is a great player and also not only about the goals, he works hard all over the pitch and so deadly on the counter.
  6. I think he just had a bad day, something which is not uncommon unlike some would have you believe. And i also think Atletico can cope if he does leave, it will be hard to replace all those goals but i'm sure they can find a cheap striker to add to Adrian and Diego Costa. (Speaking of replacing Falcao, Porto did this with Jackson Martinez for around 6m pounds and he has 14 goals in 18 games) Lewy, Cavani.
  7. How can't 50m Falcao score against Celta Vigo? omg
  8. Didn't know there was a game today, on it.
  9. On the 31st we will finally realize we can't sign Falcao and make a late move for someone like Carlton Cole.
  10. I do too, but only because he reminds of El Matador, Cavani
  11. Maybe it is something we should do more often, given how the cheap players we've signed recently have turned out I only gave 3 examples, but like you said every top team have a top striker. This is a fact. But, none of them ever cost this much, also another fact. You don't think even for a second spending 98m on just two players is ridiculous? Shakhtar dominated us in CL and i'm sure their entire team did not cost as much. Or will a top striker also change the fact that our double pivot collapses under any kind of pressure?
  12. Aguero would have cost us exactly what Man city paid. I believe he had a release clause also. And you're right people ask for more from Chelsea, but it's not like all of a sudden a 10m player would become 30m. Cavani for example can be bought for 35m, but it depends on whether he wants to leave Napoli.
  13. Cavani was sold to Napoli for around 15m pounds. Falcao was sold to Atletico for 40m euros. Aguero was sold to Man city for 35m pounds. This is how it normally is. All the top teams bought their strikers from somewhere, but the fees are always around 35m or lower. Depends on what you call formidable, it doesn't have to be a massive name, but they're many players out there with a reputation of scoring loads of goals, and will probably do the same in the PL. And won't cost 50m.
  14. Tbf, Cavani and Van Persie will rip shit up in the Portuguese league lol.
  15. Malaga have been banned from the next UEFA competition they qualify for in the next 4 seasons.
  16. 1. You will never find me bashing him, i've been saying we should sign him since 2011. Before we went and wasted money on Lukaku. 2. If he goes wherever i won't be one of the people crying after every goal he scores, like some did with Aguero and will inevitably do with Sturridge. 3. If we sign him for that much money and he does well great, everyone's happy. If he doesn't i will say i told you so, though
  17. It's not about buying top players. I was in support of buying Hazard for 32m, very young player, massive upside, no brainer.
  18. It's funny. This is the same kind of optimism people were having when we were linked with Torres. "Top, top striker" "Him and Drogba together? OMG" "He will score a hat-trick in his first game" blah blah blah. Now in hindsight, these same people would say he was off form when we signed him - when actually he was looking very good under Dalglish, he was on a run like he is on now, 5 in 4 or something like that. He also had a goal unfairly ruled out for offside. This is why i'm worried about Falcao, it doesn't matter how good he is atm, things do not always work out the same in a different team and a completely different league. Like i said before, Kaka was the best player in the world, went for Madrid for 60m and failed. Who saw it coming? no one. He was amazing at Milan, but things just didn't go his way in Spain. If Falcao comes here i will pray every morning he does well, but it can also easily go bad. He's not superman, he has bad games like every player and misses chances also. He just had a run of 6 games without scoring from open play, and at the Copa America he scored 1 goal from open play against Bolivia.
  19. I'm confident it will be a letdown, but it wouldn't matter if the player can put the ball in the net.
  20. I'm struggling to find who we'll sign if we don't get Falcao. According to Dutch Telegraph, Emenalo has doubts about Bony. Huntelaar is linked with Arsenal, and they're also rumours of him signing a new deal. Llorente is heavily linked with a move to Juve. Lewandowski the same but to Man utd - i don't know why they need him, but there's been "Lewy to Man utd" talk since the summer. Remy is apparently on his way to Newcastle. Falcao is like the only striker we're linked with.
  21. He gets bullied off the ball too easily, i can agree with that. But regardless he's still a top top playmaker: who scores goals, assists, and is quality on set-pieces. They're very few players i would trade him for. And on Madrid, Ronaldo was a good buy for them, but they've had a lot of flops spending big money on good players. Players that didn't quite turn out as well as they had hoped.
  22. It is. But i just think atm that money can be better used on multiple players, than just one.
