Mikel did all the intercepting, but i remember in the first half when he made a nice tackle and put Mata in on goal. And all the part about positioning: Mikel was the DM while Luiz had the license to go forward. It was just like the game when we played Romeu and Mikel together, this time Mikel was the one able to go forward, but he didn't play nearly as well as Luiz did. Imo some people are judging him too harshly considering he's only made 3 starts in the position, he has been doing well enough. What doesn't make sense? if you sign the player you pay his full wages for the duration of his contract. On loan, you have the possibility of paying less with the parent club covering the other portion.

Two things: 1. I thought Luiz was very, very good after Mikel came off. He stayed back and won the ball in the air and also on the ground. Attacking wise, he played the best 2 passes of the game to Mata and Cole. Isn't this what people want from the 2nd midfielder playing next to the DM? productivity at both ends of the pitch? Luiz offers this, he has some areas to work on, but this is just his 3rd start in the position. 2. Ivan-Cahill partnership makes me miss JT less. Very solid most of the time.
