Bertrand and van Aanholt will be out. Even the Vitesse manager said himself PVA is not good enough to play for Chelsea. So sense would be to sign a younger left back than 29 to save having to buy another in 2-3yrs or so
-
I dont think there is anything in this story. I'd expect to see a similar story concerning Moreno soon, thats how the tabloids work isn't it?
-
Marca are so unreliable "usually". Conflicting as at Atleticos summit meeting Monday, they told Simeone he doesnt have to sell Diego Costa, finances are fine. Plus Luis has said he wants to stay
-
I'll eat my hat if van Aanholt or Bertrand are still at Chelsea come September 1st/2nd. Be it sold or loaned out, i think they're goners
-
I reckon [may have said it in previous post] we have close to £100m-ish to spend. £50m off Luiz, the remaining sum from January roughly £24m plus any revenue from TV and competitions entered.
-
I doubt it's signed and sealed as they're on the stock exchange so it'd have to be announced immediately I'd guess.
-
Depends how far along Utd deal is. With there being no announcement it's possible we could enter the chase
-
I don't understand why the press constantly link us to new CB, we have Zouma, Cahill, Terry plus Ivanovic can deputise. 2+2 = 5 from a lot of these media outlets i think. More likely a CM comes in with the Luiz cash and a LB than a CB even if Benatia is quality [which he is]
-
In regards to your outs, don't think Oscar will go. Despite Ba saying Jose asked him to stay, a good enough offer he will go IMO. Marin, van Aanholt, Bertrand, Moses, will also go I think. Your ins I think Shaw will go Utd, although I'd happily take him, Mandzukic and a DM doubtful and AM last thing we need.

Bookies suspending betting isn't always a sign of something happening. Based on flow of bets. Only ironic thing is, the market got suspended day after we sell Luiz for £50m. Fair chance people started lumping money on him joining us, and bookies closed the market

who said "much less" and why would he give up 30000 a week? He would earn more here than at Saints and perhaps get a decent signing on fee to compensate for his loss of loyalty bonus. He doesnt get his loyalty weekly, they're paid upon completion of a years contract. Let's say Saints want £30m for him and he has a loyalty owing of £3m. If Chelsea offered the 30m, saints then have to pay Shaw £3m. If Shaw hands in a TR forfeiting that £3m.. saints would then perhaps take £27m as they've saved 3m anyway [so fee and saving of loyalty equals the 30m they wanted]. So yes, there is every chance they could take less if shaw pushes.... It's confusing but it's why players handing in transfer requests tend to move quickly and for fees less than quoted
-
No way are we going to pay best part of £30m+ for Paulinho. I'd eat my hat
-
I don't think it'll be a CB myself. Terry, Cahill, Zouma, Ivanovic can play there with Azpi going right bk. Wouldn't surprise me to see the Luiz money reinvested into a CM. I remember Mourinho saying we will sign a couple of clinical players to improve the team immediately and after that if someone goes, someone will come in. So I'm guessing Luiz, and Cole both need replacing on top of the "clinical" buys he already wanted
-
Telegraph, and Guardian I tend to believe over others, but again it depends who is reporting. Ogden as mentioned is good for Utd news, as is David Mcdonnell of The Mirror. Neil Ashton of Daily Mail used to be good for Chelsea stories don't know about now. [he broke the smoke bomb incident, and cole shooting the work exprience lad before anyone]. So although certain papers get ridiculed for being rubbish, some reporters genuinely are pretty reliable
-
what an immature response. well done. You mean to tell me you dont think the slightest chance if we bid for him and southampton play hard ball, shaw or his agent wouldnt be in the media pushing? of course they would. .naive When a player hands in a TR he forfeits any loyalties owed to him, therefore clubs tend to be more lenient in their negotiations when the player has waived his right to said moneys. [also the reason rooney didnt hand one in, he would have probably waived millions]
-
Daily Star saying we're gona go for Mandzukic instead due to fitness worries. Very much doubt it, 1. hes a Mourinho type and i think the deal has already been done to be announced after Saturdays CL final. 2. Daily Star are shit I think deals will already be discussed, know who we want enquiries made even with a WC looming. Only thing that changes with WC's is there is a chance you find a gem in the tournament and decide you also want to sign him.
-
Thing to remember with Shaw, [if we have any chance at all] is I think he'd push for a move to here more than he would Utd. Therefore I think he may drive his own price down and hand in a TR, and we could have offered them part ex. Be it Bertrand, Moses whatever
-
Think we will get Moreno if not Shaw and Marin will be involved in Moreno deal. Just my personal view. Inclined to think Shaw to Utd is on the verge of being announced tbh, otherwise I think we'd be right in his agents ear about him coming here
-
van Aanholt and Bertrand will both be gone IMO. edit: and the talk of us having to sell before buying is only coming from the media mainly. Of course we are going to make out we aren't full of cash this year as it goes against you in negotiations. But we all know Roman will give Jose a fair bit of clout to get us challenging from day 1
-
Those quotes are what he said in the press conference before Cardiff game i think [may be wrong]. He may be telling the truth, but i wouldnt be surprised in the slightest if we did something, or agreed something before the end of WC. I'm still expecting something official re.Costa next week after CL final
-
I think we will sign either just Costa with Lukaku staying and even Torres. Or we sign Costa plus 1
-
I remember seeing one time that with Bayern, BILD have insider knowledge
-
sport1 in Germany reckon he isn't coming here, and Juventus are very much in the hunt for him. Maybe one of our German users can tell us whether BILD or sport1 are more reliable
-
Telling thing with Mandzukic is neither Matthias Sammer when asked, or Rumenigge have put this story to bed and ruled out him leaving. They say "with Lewandowski arriving it will be hard for Mario." They seem to be telling him he's not wanted without making it too obvious IMO
-
lol same. He is suddenly "shit" and they want Benatia immediately
