  1. The problem with some fans and people at the helm of affairs is the"if he lacks the experience of managing a big club, he cannot be qualified for the role" attitude. There are plenty of managers out there who consistently over-achive with their "small club" given the limited resources they have to work with season after season. They have proven man management skills, superior tactical awareness to carlo and ability to utilise their resources to full potentials e.g David Moyes, Jurgin Klopp (dortmund), Martin O'neill and a host of others can be recruited and wouldn't cost us a fortune but they will get overlooked due to the very reason I provided above.
  2. What difference does it make. dodge the main issue all you want but the fact remains we lost the epl title and crashed out of the UCL to the same team in a space of three weeks. that's bizarre to say the least
  3. Injury to key player's? We had a relatively full squad available in our last 3 consecutive defeats to man utd. this season and against newcastle.on sunday what is the excuse for our woeful and shambolic display in these fixtures and what tactical changes did ancelotti make to tilt the balance of the game in Chelsea's favour? What type of manager loses to his bitter rivals 3 times in a row in the space of three weeks and doesn't learn his lessons?
  4. I know the situation of the club pre Roman as I have supported the club my whole life so relax on the assumption MR CHELSEA FC. btw I see no relationship between your assertion and the issue being discussed.lack of better insight to contribute I suppose.
  5. I'm getting tired of repeating myself. once again injury to key players over the course of a season is inevitable in footie. no team can escape that. A sensible manager then must anticipate the worst and HAVE A MITIGATION PLAN in place to ensure this circumstances do not affect the team when it inevitably happens . that's common sense and i would expect even my 7 year old nephew to know these things let alone a 52 year old man with plenty of european experience. Lack of plan B is a sure road to failure Injury to Ferdinand,Valencia and Rooney's dressing room unrest didn't prevent man utd from clinching their 19th epl title and reaching the ucl final
  6. Chelsea has had its worst "bad spell" in years under carlotti with series of terrible/unforgivable performances to boot. if that's not a major cause for concern then I don't know what is
  7. Let me guess, he's average because he plays for Wigan?
  8. When will people realise that this is not necessarily about result but the way we have achieved these unfavorable results Ancelotti would be 50 times more popular on here if our performance this season has reflected the quality of our squad and the club's ambition. if you play well, with gut, desire and determination and lose a match, only a cold blooded arsehole would criticize the manager after such a display as that demonstrates the ability to motivate and get the players firing on all cylinders. But when your team plays extremely badly and lose/draw, those two combination cannot be healthy for the fans. majority of our performance this season falls under the latter category which is totally unacceptable for a club like Chelsea.
  9. Off topic. I strongly recommend Maxi moralez of velez sarsfield as an exceptional value buy to address the lack of creativity in our midfield. he shouldn't costy more than £16 million although if he was playing in europe and famous, would be worth around £35 million. I know he isn't proven in europe and yada yada but this dude is technically ten light years ahead of kaka and younger. These are the type of unknown gem we should be targeting (ala chicharito).and kick the overrated and overpriced players like sheva, veron, kaka, torres to the curb. Small risk, potential high reward is the way forward
  10. If Abramovich could fork out £30 and £50 million for washed up Sheva and Torres respectively then don't put it past him to pay real madrid the asking price for kaka In the ideal world. kaka isn't worth more than £13 million. fuck that form is temporary and class is permanent bullshit, kaka is past his prime and real madrid are merely looking for mugs to rip off. Abramovich is that you?
  11. Let me drive this point home once again. It's a manager's responsibility to anticipate this type of unforeseen circumstances and plan ahead. Every sensible manager goes into a new season expecting injuries to key personnel and fluctuations in player's form along the way. how you are able to deal with these challenges is what separates the men from the boys. That's a weak excuse to defend the manager, I'm afraid.
  12. But Ancelotti has never demonstrated the qualities required to manage this club long term Can you highlight one example of carlotti's tactical genius. . . how he managed to change a game with his superior technical or tactical intelligence. quite simply put, has he ever done anything before or during a game, be it team selection, tactics, subs etc, to impress even the most critical pundits since he became manager?
  13. I'm beginning to suspect the "in carlotti we trust camp" are just pulling our legs and know deep down inside that the manager is incapable of inspiring this team/club to greater heights. how would anyone support a man who only managed 1 league title in 10 years with the great Milan side, loses a 3 nil lead in a UCL final and substitute a defender for another defender when his team is trailing with 10 mins left on the clock. I just can't convince my self to support a man that makes fundamental errors which only requires common sense on a consistent basis.
  14. You basically summarized the point I was trying to stress to laylabelle. You are a legend my man :tophat:
  15. I want stability just as much as you do but with the right manager The problem with your logc is that Ancelotti has never been a master tactician and has never demonstrated the ability to disprove that criticism. Is this not the same manager that lost a 3 nil lead to liverpool in the UCL final? His defeciences were apparent last season especially against the big teams but were masked by the superior squad depth and key players retaining their form and staying largely injury free. When he couldn't enjoy the same luxury anymore, his abysmal tactical nous was exposed clearly for the whole world to see. Fergie for example has demonstrated his skills over and over again to earn him the immunity he has enjoyed over the years. Ancelotti on the other hand has never shown such ability. my case his simple, when chelsea recruits a proven manager who has demonstrated his quality beyond any reasonable doubt, I will show 100% confidence in him even if we go 3 years without a trophy
  16. :goodpost: If it ain't broke, why fix it? I'm with you on that we should never accept mediocrity for the sake of stability or fuckever. when did standards drop so low amongst Chelsea fans?
  17. You left out osama bin laden's death, the rise of unemployment, inflation, financial bubble and the price of pasta in Italy On a serious note. a great manager must be able to make the best use of his resources no matter how limited and as the saying goes, a bad workman blames his tools look at fergie, many pundit argued that this is the weakest man utd team since the pl started in 92 and yet he is able to INSPIRE them to 19th epl title and UCL final. a skill that's not synonymous with carlo Injuries to key players are part and parcel of footie. it's always inevitable and therefore the manager holds the responsibility to anticipate this and many more unforeseen circumstances (in other word, expect the worse) and have a mitigation plan in place. Yet again he failed in that regard and should be held accountable. To your point about lack of depth and aging players, which again correlates with the point I made above.. If I may ask, whose responsibility is it to ensure the squad is in a shape to compete for the title before the season unfolds?
  18. Telling from the look on Roman's face after the game. it would be an absolute miracle if carlo remains in charge next season I just hope roman exercises the right judgment by sacking him.
  19. Ancelotti has proven over the course of the season that he 1) Cannot motivate his team 2) Lacks tactical awareness and the ability to read his opponent/game and devise a strategy accordingly 3) Ability to change a game when it's heading towards a draw or defeat 4) Over reliant on age and experience even at the detriment of the teams performance and result Yet some people want him to stay all in the name of stability. unbelievable
  20. Torres, Bale and kaka in that order
  21. Based on the last 6 months. 70% of epl strikers > fernandon't scorres
  22. Arjen Robben, Hulk and messi .,to an extent, are selfish but ridiculously effective at the same time. so what's your point? I would rather have a selfish but effective player than an unselfish and useless player in my team
  23. People keep rambling on about Taarabt being unproven but what has our so called proven players done this season How poorly can, arguably championship's best player, perform in the pl? Andy carroll and many other newly promoted players have proven that line of reasoning wrong season after season. quality >>>>>> prestige for me.
