Ozil is 4x better than Essien. No manager would be stupid enough to trade the german wonderki. I know believe the saying that fans tend to overrate their own players. Essien has been a great player for Chelsea but come on now.
Jack is not worth more than £10 million max. English players are just overpriced and overrated. little wonder most big clubs around europe would rather look elsewhere when recruiting players.
I don't see anyhting wrong with the new deal. Hilario has been a magnificent back up goalie for us over the years and has stood up to the task against teams like barcelojna, man utd, liverpool et al. a true professional and no complaints here
To build on killamanjaro's point. More than 70% of barcelona's starting 11 represented spain at the world cup and played more games than all the other participating teams/players bar netherlands yet won two major trophy last season. sorry I'm not buying it neither. also bare in mind that all of their starting 11 played at the mundial.
1)End of july 2) guus hiddink 3) never 4) Kevin De bruyne :eyebrows: 5) next week monday 6)Zhirkov 7)kevin, Kakuta, Bruma and Betrand 8) Neymar, Lukaku, Kevin de bruyne, Alexis sanchez
True but this kid is different. He has one attribute that never to flourish at any league or level in footie and that's accurate, accurate and decisive passing. How many players at his age possess such ability?
Excellent post. One thing is for sure, if I was Abramovich, I wouldn't have paid more than £14 million for Torres or even buy him in the first place given his last 18 months performances for both club and country. unfortunately reputation is the name of the game in Abramovich's world
Messi and Ronaldo didn't turn into world class players over night and how does one determine world class potentials from "just decent/good" potentials. mewsflash Eto'o was deemed as not good enough for real madrid, barca failed to recognise the great potential Fabreagas had. it's one thing to have players with great potential, it's another thing to recognise their potential and guide them towards reaching their maximum potential.
What about Anelka. Is he also vastly different to Torres. I will never doubt the lack of creativity in the team but if Anelka could win the golden boot with the same midfield then Torres has no excuse.
Torres has 27 goals in 85 international appearances for Spain playing with the best and most creative midfield in world football (INIESTA,Xavi,Alonso,David silva) what's the explanation for such abysmal record. bearing in mind that his strike partner who joined the national team after him (Villa) has 47 goals in 75 appearances.
Apparently Lack of creativity in the team was also resaponsible for his poor and rigid movement, abysmal ball control/first touch and numerous mishit shots and poor run of form for the spanish national team through out last year
alert I don't get one thing though. why does a £50 million striker NEED a certain type of player in order to score goals. I can't recall strikers like Odewinge, Darren Bent, Llorente requiring assistance from a world class playmaker in order to bang in goals last season and they didn't cost a fortune neither. some people just won't accept the fact that Torres has been shit for the past 2 seasons and past his prime. sometimes in life you just have to accept mistake and cut your losses.
Can you Imagine how Messi, fabregas,Iniesta,Ronaldo would have turned out had they been a Chelsea academy product? Messi would get benched every week for malouda and Ronaldo would be playing second fiddle to Anelka and Kalou while fabregas and Iniesta are sold to Hamburg ensuring their true potential never reaches maximum fulfillment. that's the sad reality at SW6
