I hear Wilf Zaha wants to leave Palace. If we can't get Leon Bailey, he's very similar and could easily replace Willian.
-
I really hoped that following the Sarri appointment and Jorginho signing it would trigger more movement in the market and we'd swiftly push through other deals. Appears now we're back to hearing about meetings and "hot days/hours" everyday with no actual signings. Would be nice if every signing we make gets a couple of preseason matches.

Big risk and we will see lots and lots of opposition supporters (and many of our own) saying stuff like "LOL Chelsea have signed a fat, way past it striker," but I do think he will score 20+ in the PL if he settles properly. As a stopgap to help us get into the CL places he's about as good as w're going to do. I'll repeat again that he should not be signed to replace Morata. This will be a grueling season with so many matches. We will need more than two strikers. Higuain, Morata, and Giroud is a very nice strike force. I don't want to see Pedro or one of our attacking mids being forced to play as a false 9 out of desperation again.

I just do not see how we can possibly sell him at this stage in the window unless we get a player in part exchange from Real Madrid. There is simply no time to sell our best player and then turn around ourselves and try to complete a transfer for a top replacement. Especially when any club we approach will know we're absolutely loaded with cash from the sale. We cannot sell him without already having something agreed with replacements first.

Remember that Spuds also look likely to lose Dembele, their best CM. I do forsee Arse being much better under their new manager but as you say, I don't think they've made any seriously impressive signings. They've signed mid-tier players who the top clubs weren't even looking at. United, unless they sign another top class attacker and some fullbacks I can definitely see them in a real fight for 4th. At this point, Liverpool and City have to be obvious and clear favorites.

If the shortlist for our next keeper is indeed Donnarumma, Schmeichael, and Cech then I'd bring in Donnarumma. The other two would be too big of a downgrade in my opinion. Donnarumma is so young that he can only get better with top class coaching. KS and Cech are already 30+ and will only decline. Cech in particular is years past his best. How terrible would it look if Arsenal bin Cech because he's not good enough for them and we then bring him back?

That is so much fucking money. Could we not get Boateng for that sort of cash?
-
Rolled my eyes when I saw this on twitter. This is an impossible transfer. Yet so many of our fans are losing their shit already on Twitter. No chance.
-
I'm reading it's something like a 15-17 hour flight from London to Australia. Fucking hell. Imagine having to make that grueling flight for a silly friendly, and then having to make that same 15-17 hour flight again. Yikes.
-
You'd think they'd at least show Higuain some respect. He did score a lot for them. They speak of him as though he's been a flop.
-
Reading the Juventus forum, the majority of their fans don't seem bothered about losing Rugani for the rumored price. As for Higuain, looks like they'd drive him here themselves. Doesnt exactly excite me much it must be said.
-
He's basically a younger Courtois. Massive, great shot stopper, commands his area well. Same weaknesses, though, by the look of it. Not a ball player. At only 19 with loads of time to develop he's worth a shot but as has been mentioned in the Alisson thread, he's got that cunt of an agent Raiola.
-
Jesus Christ, I thought Kasper was in his early to mid twenties! He's 31!? Having not payed attention to his career at all I figured he was still young. Not sure how I feel about him.
-
Marina must've orgasmed when she heard Sarri say he's not bothered about transfer. Might've been the sexiest thing anyone's ever said.
-
To pay that for a keeper is literally mind boggling. When we were mentioned at least we were basically half funding it with the sale of Courtois. Almost £70m for a keeper. That is unbelievable. That's the sort of money you spend on a star attacker. Desperate at this point to see who we bring in.
-
Stoke were dreadful so it's a bit hard to judge Butland I think. I remember hearing multiple times last season that he was basically the lone standout in their team. As they were being relegated there were rumors straight away that he would be moving to a better club. Would obviously fit into our clubs desire for a young, English, homegrown player. Probably wouldn't be very difficult to pry him away, either.
-
True, good point. He'd probably be angling for a move to Juve or something within 3 years. Really don't have a clue who we can get at this point. Almost has to be Butland.
-
I wonder if Donnaruma is finally possible with Milan having terrible financial issues. I remember him being completely off limits last year.
-
Donawhatshisname I wouldn't mind. Alisson looks done, unfortunately.
-
So in the span of an hour we've got one report saying there have been no talks and now Fabrizio says talks are advanced. 🤔
-
Hopefully the statement we release when we sell him is even shorter and more dismissive than the Conte one was. We sell our legendary keeper to fucking Arsenal to hand the keys to Courtois and this is how it's going to end. You just know that in his first press conference in Madrid he's going to say something offensive about us like "I'm finally at a big club."
-
This is reminding me of the Jorginho saga just last week. One set of journalists basically saying its a nearly done deal for Liverpool, others saying its still up in the air. One thing seems certain at this point, though. Courtois is off.
-
Yeahhhhh. We all love Big Pete but he's nowhere near the Cech we knew and loved these days.
-
Willian soon to return to Chelsea in an ambulance?
-
Forster? Hasn't he been woeful and got benched last season?
