Like many of you, I've become enamored with the community on this site. From Henrique's jovial, though consistently biased, remarks, to Peace.'s demure outlook on things, it's really been a treat. I've appreciated getting updates on everything Chelsea related, and feel that i'm a better fan because of it. As you all know, the administrators run a great show here but have been looking to move this forum onto bigger and better things. To do this, like in any business, the site needs a reliable revenue stream that they can count on to host the site on the more expensive and reliable servers so that the site doesn't crash on match days. As such, I suggest that if you feel as I feel and have gotten something of value from this site, then you should sign up for what I call the 'Save the bridge brigade' - in essence, you pledge to donate a certain minimum amount each month. If we get enough people signed up and donating regularly, then we'd really have something great going here and the site would be self-sustained. It won't take much at all, if 20 of us pledge to donate 3 pounds a month each, then that's the 60 pounds a month we need to move to the larger server right there. Obviously, the more we collect the better, because it allows us to expand our services, and if we build up a reserve of cash, if donations trickle off one month, we'll have enough saved up to continue right on. Let's start this trend by donating on the new year and on the first of every month hence. So let me be the first to pledge: I, Lampy, pledge on all that is blue on this good earth, to donate 5 pounds a month for as long as I use this forum. I encourage all of you to pledge your support on this thread as well.

I just talked to Torres at the Dorchester hotel this morning, he told me that he will be going to Lille on a one year LOAN (we're not selling him) in exchange for Hazard (we have to pay + 15 mill as well). Wtf ? I just got hired by the daily mail for that story !

Yeah, I understand that and really appreciate it. But what i meant was like on the donation tab at the side you could have a little blurb or something explaining that, i just feel that would encourage a lot more people to donate. And like the goals could by like "50 pounds till the larger server" or whatever. I feel that making it more explicit will get more people to donate. I will donate over the weekend, just thought that would be helpful to motivate more participation. Having that tangible goal (not just a figure of money to be raised) I feel will get a better response. Also, don't know how you could do this, but i know sites that have automatic donations. So if you are a regular member you can just set it so that you automatically donate a specified amount each month like a subscription or something. I think that will make it easier for a lot of people like me who are incredibly lazy / forget to do things like this even though we wouldn't mind at all. That way you have a more regular stream of revenue. Psychologically, I wouldn't donate 50 pounds in one go, but I could def see myself donating 5 pounds a month especially if it was automatic, I probs wouldn't remember / or feel like doing it every month otherwise. You could have one of those placards like you have for "I donated" for people who sign up to support the site by donating every month for a year or whatever like "Subscribers" or "Ken Bates' Men"Save the bridge brigade" or "Abramovich's Jr." or summin lol. Just adds that little extra incentive to donate, and, again, makes your revenue stream more reliable.

Though i really enjoy this site and probably should donate, I have yet to open my wallet. I just feel that if you made the goal of donating more lucid "i.e. getting a bigger server so the site does not crash on match day as it is prone to doing" and you break down exactly how much you need for that to happen etc then I feel I and a lot of people like me would donate and in substantially larger amounts than if its just going to generally supporting the site. It will be more of a community thing and we'll feel like we were responsible in some small way, for supporting the site.

I noticed that the game clock is always wrong. In fact it is 5 hours wrong (it seems that the computer is treating my computer's which is in ET USA time as english time and determining when the match starts based on that. We should make the clock automatically detect where people are and adjust accordingly. This should be fixed as i think the match clock thing is a pretty legit feature.

He is an aristocrat and is already very rich. His grandmom had a huge winery business and he has counts and barons in his family tree. So while it is very unlikely he paid for it himself, it is not outside the realm of possibility.
