  1. We won't sign Eto'o. I don't believe we will make the mistake of signing big names in their late 20's again. At the same time Bojan and Pato will not be leaving their clubs. Benzema is an option but is a very expensive option.
  2. Are you telling me that you were not saying the exact same thing as Drogba after the game? Drogba reacted the same way we all did, and he should not be punished for that, it's human nature. The bottom line is the ref got a clear view of 4 clear cut pens and either bottled it, or conciously decided not to give them. It is obviously very hard to "fix" a scoreline as a ref, however the ref did absolutely everything he COULD do to stop us getting a second.
  3. It is crazy, especially considering the way Barca reacted after the first leg. And they were around the ref at half time. And lets not forget in 2004/2005 when we knocked Barca out and they absolutely lost it! Similar scenes, accusations of racism from Barca and they trashed the away dressing room....... for some reason i don't remember quite the same reaction! It was so obvious that we was going to be slaughtered in the press, but i was suprised yesterday with the pretty good reaction, but it just turned out it was the calm before the storm. And people wonder why Chelsea fans have the feeling that the world is against them.....
  4. Well it certainly adds to the conspiracy, but i wouldn't think there were anything wrong with it. The whole thing certainly stinks and once again we are the ones who have got shafted and we are the ones who are going to dragged through the mud!
  5. Well we all knew the fall out from this game would be huge straight after the final whistle, but it really has gathered momentum and a crazy pace, with lies and bullshit filling the pages of the press. Initially we were praised for our performance and given sympathy for the poor descisions the ref made in the game. Also on the side of that was a bit of slating of Drogba and the reaction of the team. Then the snowball effect takes place. Sky Sports started the ridiculous OTT reaction by replaying Drogba swearing into the camera after an ad break, when they could have chosen not to play it or edit the swearing out, and THEN apologise for the swearing. Bearing in mind the time, saying fuck is not uncommon at that time on TV. Next we have Graham "w**ker" Poll, who would have absolutely no idea that it happened say that the ref had his hotel changed and was then smuggled out the country. Now the ONLY source of this information is the attention seeking twat Poll! But now it is fact. Next cue a Journo is some s**ty rag who spent all night trawling through Chelsea fan sites and Facebook looking for reactions, and seeing people say things like "i want to kill the ref" and a facebook group of people who want to kill the ref! Next thing you know he is scared for his life after "receiving" death threats. Again the only source of any death threats is a Journo seeing a few angry posts on some CFC chat sites. So here we are 24 hours later and everything has got out of control, Drogba is a rabid dog that needs putting down, Chelsea fans just go around threatening to kill anyone who looks at them funny and Ovrebo is under 24 hour guard. All of this thanks to a few well placed comments and report in the Media...... don't you just love the English media..
  6. I agree entirely, makes no sense to me having "decent" players on the bench when we can have promising young players instead. Di Santo has suffered this season from a major lack of playing time, it has put him back and he will need to get games to rectify that.
  7. lol, don't blame me!!!! The problem is we find it so hard to give the young players a chance in the first team, especially without continuity in the manager.....
  8. lol..... thanks Greg, i've got tea all over my desk now!!!!
  9. So the club and all the players back track, and now we wait for UEFA to punish us and we do nothing.........
  10. Everything depends really on who comes in and also how much Roman is prepared to back them. It is obvious that we need to ship players out and re-shuffle the squad, But that will need investment, and a fairly substantial one as well.
  11. Welcome to TalkChelsea, make sure you share your views in the many discussions going on here.....
  12. Lol, your not wrong. And now, even though everyone thought it was a wrong descision by the ref, Abidal has come out now and said that he did foul Anelka and "took one for the team" by being sent off!!!
  13. Or just a lucky bunch of Spaniards who have to rely on a 93rd minute hit and hope after being on the ropes for the rest of game and resigned to going out.... Barcelona know that they were out-thought over the 2 legs, like i said for a team that praises themselves on being the best attacking force in Europe, over the 2 legs they were made to look decidedly ordinary..
  14. Barcelona are very much like Arsenal, in the fact that because they play supposed "attractive" football they have the right to win every game. When someone sets out to spoil their game plan and come away with a result they don't like it and claim bully boy tactics and everything else they can think of.... Every Barcelona fan will know they got damed lucky yesterday. We restricted the "supposed" best attacking team in the world to 1 shot on target, while at the same time getting a goal ourselves and having some other excellant chances, not to mention being denied other chances illegally which should have resulted in penalties. At the end of the day it has come down to bad luck, and a bad ref.
  15. Shots on Target: Chelsea 4 Barcelona 1 Shots off Target: Chelsea 5 Barcelona 8 Total Shots: Chelsea 9 Barcelona 9 Hmmmm, looks like we attacked as much as them to me. Possesion means jack, it's what you do with the ball that counts.
  16. José Bosingwa has retracted some of his comments made after last night's Champions League draw with Barcelona. In the heat of the moment, the 25-year-old Portuguese full-back made some comments about referee Tom Henning Øvrebø that he has since had time to consider, and said: 'We were all very disappointed and frustrated after the game, but I regret describing the referee as a thief. Having had some time to reflect I would like to withdraw those comments.' Bosingwa, along with his team-mates will now turn his attention to Sunday's visit to Arsenal in the Premier League after two impressive displays against the Catalonian side. You will be able to hear directly from Guus Hiddink live on Chelseafc.com when he gives his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon. Source: Chelsea FC
  17. I think your a little lost, the Barca forum is that way --------------------------->
  18. If only Ballack had stood up to that shot, or if only Essien hadn't sliced his clearance.... the football gods were not kind to us last night on many many counts.... Yes we do miss Joey Cole, he is a quality player without doubts... Your right we do need rebuilding, and i think we will do that and come back stronger next time. 5 Semi's in 6 seasons... we will keep that form up Oh and don't forget, your only keeping Zola and Clarkey long enough for them to earn their training to come to their proper job
  19. The idiot typically glossing over the only aspect he needs to comment on. "Yes the ref was poor, BUT, Chelsea blah blah blah yadda yadda......." The man is a wastrel of the highest order.....
  20. Comming away slightly from the madness and dissapointment of last night a little here. Over the last couple of weeks and also last night in his CTV interview Guus Hiddink has hinted that the squad will see a transformation in the summer. There are clearly a number of players who are under the threat of leaving. It was also interesting him saying that players who are only just starting to perform well now at the end of the season are not necessarily safe as players will do that to earn a new contract or a move away..... Ferreira, Carvalho, Miniero, Belletti, Ballack, Deco, Malouda, Kalou, Anelka, Drogba. All of those i would say are under serious scrutiny at the end of the season. Of those names i would say that Ferreira, Miniero, Belletti and Deco are all almost certain to go. Ballack, Malouda and Anelka have a high probability of going. And Carvalho and Drogba are less likely but still possible. To be perfectly honest, going into a new era with a new manager i think the team could do with the trimming and adding a new flavour to the squad. To go into a new season how would you trim the squad to allow fresh blood in. Forget about who to bring in for now, who should we be looking to get rid of to allow ourselves to move forward from here?
  21. Now THAT would not suprise me, it was just the sort of performance that Media Whore Poll would give against us.....
  22. Already reports of threats. However these "death threats" ammount to posters on the official site and CFCnet saying things like "i wanna kill that b**tard", "i am gonna hunt him down". Also a facebook group about wanting to kill him...... All whipped up by the media to stir things up, and also Graham Poll making up stories he can't possibly know about the ref being moved hotels by the Police and "smuggled" out of the country..... The statement is a little dissapointing, responding to such garbage. I would say that the fact that the club have released THIS statement means that once again we are going to bend over and take any punishment from UEFA and carry on as normal....
  23. Following media reports claiming threats have been made against the referee of last night's game, Chelsea Football Club would like to make clear that it condemns any form of threat against players, officials or supporters. If provided with proper evidence Chelsea will take the strongest action against any season ticket holders or members who have participated in this activity. Everybody connected with Chelsea is very disappointed with the events of last night. However we would stress that we have received no evidence that Chelsea fans are involved in any of the alleged threats reported. As a result of these reports we have also been in contact with the police who likewise had not received any complaints. Source: Chelsea FC
