Welcome to the forum. I think BlueLion said everything that needed to be said. Other than that just enjoy yourself here and don't be afraid to share your input.

Well that certainly isn't going to happen, and with Lamps back in the 11 the team basically picks itself: ........................................Cech................................... Paulo...........Ivanovic................Terry...............Cole .........................................Mikel................................... .....................Essien....................Lampard............... ...Anelka........................Drogba..................Malouda

Well on his way to recovery i understand. Although don't expect him to be making any inroads at Chelsea, once he is training the goal will be to find him a club to move on to in the summer.

Chelsea to play FC Copenhagen in UCL
EskWeston replied to magic weeds's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
This is a huge bonus to not have to play a big team yet, it just makes it that little bit more easy for us and at the moment we needed a bit of a break. -
All pointless mind games by fergie, although as i have mentioned before before there is too big an age gap between our youngsters and our established players....
-
Fairly likely i would think, Chelsea are showing no signs that they think he will be worth keeping around long term. Personally i think he can offer something to us, but it doesn't look like happening.
-
The club will try, if possible, to get him a loan at a club higher up in the food chain, of that is not possible then they will probably let him stay there while he is getting games.
-
For the majority of the season we should be making teams worry about our midfield and not concern ourselves with stopping other teams, ideally i would love to see us play with Essien Holding, Lampard playing his usualy role and a creative playmaker making up the 3 for me that would be the strongest midfeild we could play. However as we are lacking that creative player at the club at the moment our best midfield is Mikel holding with Essien and Lamps.

Chelsea to play FC Copenhagen in UCL
EskWeston replied to magic weeds's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Excellent draw for us, could not have asked for better! Have to laugh at Arsenal though...... -
Firstly, yes we need to look at bringing a striker to the club. However not just a striker we are crying out for talented attacking creative players. I know most people are looking at the CB position and saying that is where we need to most urgently recruit from but i disagree, i think we need a a centre forward, a winger and a creative attacking midfielder. This will not happen in January though. Going back to the striker though, we do not necesarily need a player in the Drogba mould, yes Drogba is perfect for playing the 4-3-3, but what we really need is someone who can take up the right positions for a lead striker in a 4-3-3. Nico tends to go walkabouts playing there which makes it more obvious what Drogba does when he is out. But lets go back a few years and look at forwards who HAVE worked as a lead striker in a 4-3-3, Gudjohnson and Crespo for starters are not exactly Drogba like players, we are not the sort of team who want to lump the ball up to a big forward, what we need is a player who can hold the ball up and bring the wingers and attacking midfielder into the game and obviously bang in the goals. Take a look at Borini, not the biggest or the strongest but he leads the line in a 4-3-3 perfectly. Basically what i am saying is that we do not need to look for a Drogba like player. Although saying that i would like to see us sign Lukaku. Personally i think an attacking midfielder should be number 1 on our priority list, where we are badly falling down without Lamps.

Official - Mancienne loaned to Wolves
EskWeston replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Mancienne is not the solution to any problem we have! Bruma is a better CB for sure, and we are not exactly struggling for holding midfielders, would be pretty pointless to bring Mancienne back if you ask me. -
Aparently he wants to stay, but is only being offered a 1 year deal. I hope we do not lose him because he is a quality goalscorer, only time will tell though. We are not helping ourselves though, we are not signing big name players so we can bring through the youngsters but then we are not getting our best youngsters to sign into new deals either.

Arnesen to join Hamburg as sporting director
EskWeston replied to chrismada9's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Where is all this going to end? After a season winning the double it is beyond belief that so many changes are taking place.... Lets just hope we don't lose Carlo in all this.. -
It was very important for Woods to go out on loan, yes his chances of making it with Chelsea are virtually gone but we have to remember that 95% of these boys that play in our academy are going to move onto other clubs...
-
These types of deals are very important, the main goal of this from Chelsea's perspective is to bring over to us the most talented players from their academy. For their part they get the chance to gain some knowledge from the coaches and the set up at Chelsea.

Sturridge is playing well when he is given a chance, he really has so much potential and he is stil so young, again though the only way he is going to improve is to give him more games. He should be given a lot more oppertunities for sure and i hope they will come, it's no good waiting for the forward line to become too old before giving him the chances because he needs to be settled before then. Given the fact we are short of goals lately it can't hurt to give him more games,
-
Yes things are not brilliant at the moment. But a couple of decent results will put all this in the past! Ian Wright is not exactly our biggest fan, and a lot of what he says is guess work based on opinion - not a lot of fact in there. Loved Jose but look at his record, does anyone truly think he would have stuck around long enough to create a dynasty?
-
Sturridge should start this game for sure. The question is does he start any other young players other than Bruma and McEachran? There must be a temptation to rest Ashley Cole as well...

At the end of the day i can take losing, especially a game like yesterday. It was one of those freak games, they had 1 bloody shot and scored from it. We played well, i was pleased with the performance the lads gave yesterday. What i get annoyed about is when we play like we are not up for it like Sunderland, Liverpool and Man City. This defeat i can take on the chin, the other 3 frustrated the life out of me. Sometimes you have toput things into perspective, if yesterdays game was an indication of our improvement in form then i am happy.
-
Ramires is doing fine considering he has only just moved to the club and country. Ramires is not the problem in our midfield, we are missing that natuarally forward minded player to link the play up like Lampard or Benayoun, obviously they think Josh is too young to start so are making do with Zhirkov and now Malouda.

The trouble is there is nothing to have faith in. He is not a coach, his only coaching experience is with an American girls team, he is there purely as the boards eyes and ears. This is in no way good for the club, this was not a choice made with the footballing side of the club in mind. Where is the logic of appointing someone who has minimal coaching experience to the Premiership champions - it's bonkers
-
This appointment is not good news in my opinion. It shows where the choice to give Wilkins the boot came from and a sign that the Chelsea top brass wanted one of "their" men involved in the first team coaching staff. This is by no means the best move for the team on any footballing level whatsoever. If we was planning to bring in someone better than Ray then fine but this takes the biscuit.
-
At the end of thday no-one has a clue what he is being offered. However signing up one of our most talented youngsters would be a LOT cheaper than spending out on some average squad player journeyman who will offer us very little. Over the next few years Kakuta can turn into a big big star.
-
Whilst things looked good at the start of the season with the youngsters being involved things have quickly begun to not look so good. We are struggling to keep hold of Borini and Kakuta (for whatever reason that may be) and we are using a player out of position rather than give the youngsters a chance when needed.
