mata off the bench has never worked for us. we lose matches and drop points (as a certainity) when he does not start. plus spain hardly play, so mata will end up getting a 2 week rest, hopefully. so i ll go with mata over moses.

tottenham have progressed barely in both their last rounds. i wont be suprised if they are knocked out by benfica or lazio. the point is we can deal better with "big games" at the end of the season rather than now. right now we need to concentrate on league, open up a big gap between us and arsenal (which can be quite possible considering we are already 5 points ahead, and i realistically expect us to be 7-8 points ahead by the end of this week). also getting tottenham in this round would be the worst thing. we will have to play southampton, united and tottenham (in that order) in 6 days and every1 can guess that we will end up playing a weak side against southampton and losing points there and play our strongest team against united and spurs.

the forward line and the mid that started the last match against bucuresti is our strongest in my opinion. they would probably be exhausted by last night (or atleast fatigued), i would still start the same line up (ofcourse except torres). cech iva cahill JT cole rambo mikel mata oscar hazard ba. win this match at any cost and with arsenal playing away to swansea and still reeling from the exit, we should open up a 7-8 point gap. come on chelsea...

rubin kazan/fene. not basel. i have seen some of their european matches and those guys can dig their heels meaning we will probably end up not scoring at their home and with their speedy wingers and good counter attacks, i see them being a big problem for us.

this probably one of the very few times that i have been on the "mikel thread"... but reading the last 15-20 pages i would like to pat my self for avoiding this thread so far because all i can say people probably miss kalou. as he is longer here, there is no one to scapegoat and that is where mikel enters.

totally get you dude. this team is nothing but a pathetic excuse for a footballing team. we have no gameplan, no plays, no passion, no heart. its nothing short of DISGUSTING to watch this team play twice a week. believe me i have tried to stop watching but unfortunately end up doing the thing that now i have come to dread the most, watching this chelsea play. all through this season, whenever anythin shitty happened i would always say to my friends, my brother or myself that "we are the european champions and i would take all this shit in a heartbeat at the same time last year if it meant winning the cl". but no longer because simply put watching this team play HURTS. i dont expect chelsea to win every match infact i dont care if we win every match, but the performances that we have put are indeed embarrasing and downright shameful.

the only way this pathetic excuse of a footballing team can win this match is if and only if united want to lose it.
