The problem is Wigan's formation. 3 CBs vs Drogba. He needs better support.

We don't need any more strikers on the bench when we only play one anyway. Torres/Drogba are both better and can be rotated. Lukaku is only 18, it's not like his career is over. Yes, he should have gone on loan, but the problem was that he was not allowed to.

Just shows how much we rely on Mata as the only creative outlet.

Benfica are capable of some excellent football. The passing is brilliant at times. But the diving and constant complaining is a joke.

Would've preferred Sturridge to Kalou, but otherwise the team picks itself. Bet you won't be saying that once Adrian Chiles starts to speak...

That's a very attack-minded team. Think we might miss Ramires, although I can understand he needs a rest. Hopefully Mata can come off early as well. Why? He deserves a game for his performance vs Benfica.

They do the one-touch passing game well. Decent movement. Oh, and diving/complaining, they do that very fucking well indeed.

Luiz was outstanding, so impressed with him recently. Massively improved. Shame I can't choose 3 MOTM, as Ramires/Kalou were also excellent. Torres showing glimpses, all he needs now is to remember to wear his shooting boots. For me, Benfica were very underwhelming, considering the players they have. Some nice passing moves, nothing much more. Bring on the second leg.

He was injured for a little while, he then contracted a virus, which I think he has recovered from. Not too sure why he isn't anywhere to be seen recently to be honest. I hope this team proves me wrong, because I'm not full of confidence at this moment in time.
