  1. Sure I read he was very close to agreeing a new contract extension?
  2. I'd love for Cavani to join us, but he will be off to Madrid I reckon, allowing Higuain to leave. Wouldn't be surprised if Torres left the club in the summer and we handed Drogba his extension, meaning we'd have one first class striker, and one experienced backup (which was the plan for this season I assume).
  3. Dont understand why we'd consider swapping one striker playing as a winger for a winger who wants to play as a striker. Ridiculous story.
  4. --------------------Hart----------------- Richards - ??????? - Jones - Cole ------------Parker - Wilshere-------- Sturridge ----------------------Young -----------------Rooney---------------- --------------------Welbeck------------ Need an experienced CB playing with Jones. Not sure who i'd pick though Edit: Not sure on Wilshere's fitness. Could sub in Gerrard/Barry/Lampard/Milner/Cleverley/any other CM.
  5. He was brilliant tonight. Could be a potential bargain at £12m.
  6. Great to see some desire! Feels like this club's been lacking in it recently. Love it.
  7. Courtesy of everybody's favourite Tweeter:
  8. We have one, he's called Daniel Sturridge. He's wasted out on that wing, he's only there frankly because we have nobody better. You can call him 'selfish', but the fact is he's played his whole career as a striker and is naturally looking to finish. I would advocate us signing Cavani, however I think he's a dead cert to sign for Madrid.
  9. If Romeu had been playing consistently leading up to the game, and playing well, then I can understand people asking for his inclusion. But he hasn't played properly for ages (can anyone explain why he's been excluded as of late? Because I certainly can't.)
  10. People can talk about Cole/Cech/Luiz...What about Ivanovic? Fair enough he was marking Lavezzi/Cavani, but he was awful tonight imo. Ramires was poor (although he was playing in a position not suited to him), Meireles was woeful as usual (how about some commitment in a tackle, Raul?). It really is the link between midfield and attack that is hindering us and we still haven't found a consistent pairing/trio to sort it out. I still think we're capable of beating them on a good day, whether we can do it by 2 clear goals however...
  11. Again, can't see how AVB can be entirely blamed. We dominated for a spell before they got their 3rd goal. We're capable of beating this team when the players are playing. Sadly, we seem to self-destruct at the critical moment far too often. Let's not forget that Napoli's front two have been very, very good.
  12. Well yes, but Torres has been poor all season long, hasn't he?
  13. Disagree, there's more than enough goalscoring threat between Studge/Drogba/Mata/Lampard than if Torres/Kalou were on. We're losing it in the midfield too often. Essien gives us a bit of tenacity in the middle of the park.
  14. Think Cech was waiting to clear it from Luiz's pass back which is why he came forward. To be honest it was quite unlucky.
  15. Both teams have been terrible defensively. They're just more efficient with the ball. There will be more chances at both ends. Drogba needs to start coming deeper and linking play with Studge running off him.
  16. Studge's right foot is non-existent, don't blame him for not trying that.
  17. Well if he was 100% he'd have started, if you're forced into making the change, there's not much else AVB can do.
