Being in Europa League is worse than being out of Europe for a season. An off year would give the new manager time to adjust himself to the league/cups with right amount of rest inbetween for the players. The bigger question is attracting and keeping hold of quality players. Players' careers are relatively short, managers can afford to spend a year or two on building something. Like I said, getting in the right players while not playing in the CL is the hard part.

In terms of potential and current abilities, he is the only real world class player we have. He is one of the best GKs atm and will become the best in the near future.
-
What's done is done. We should focus on going forward. A little booing of certain players and cheering Mourinho's name will subside. No harm done, just a way for fans to show their opinion on this matter and pay respect to Mourinho as he didn't really get to say good bye in a proper fashion. Glad that atleast Guus took over the reins, he will certainly be the glue that brings both parties together in the end. Though, let's not kid ourselves, Sunderland might have been an easy win after a long time but we did not look as convincing as one can make out of it. A long way of recovery ahead and, in the end, let's not forget we are still in search of a permanent manager and our own identity since the old guard left. Interesting times await.

And seems like he brought Griezmann with him.
-
Man, when you joined you were a great lad and it's great that with time you haven't changed even with the tag under your name. Keep it up mate.
-
Don't bother. His answers are the same every time and he ignores the main points.
-
Going by that logic, I've got a question for you - were you a straight A student in school? Because I'm sure your teachers gave it their all in the class room.

This isn't football manager where the players automatically follow the instructions. Big egos, not so much sportsmanship and teamwork. This was a grudge between the manager and the players, just that the team and the results got in the middle of it. A mistake to let him go but what is done is done. Really curious what will happen next.
-
Perhaps rigtly so. He will be sacked sooner or later. Fans are fickle, memories are short and players are untouchable.
-
And we are back at it... on a search for a new manager yet again. Never ending circle.
-
You are understanding me wrong. I was one of the few that did respect Benitez's work with Chelsea. Though, the same faces that are anti JM atm were against him. It's a pattern I've hinted at in my previous posts. Hypocricy at its best, eh?
-
You liked the vibe back then? Mate, scroll back a bit on this forum and relive the vibe. It isnt what you remember it to be.

I'm saying that this problem we are having runs deeper than just tactics. I dont think it can be solved by just swapping JM with a interim manager. At the moment, he should be kept till end of the season and depending on the end result/atmosphere etc reevalute his position then. We cant do impact signings in January. Both the manager and the players are at fault. Though, as a club, we have always chosen the easy way out and sacked the manager, brought new in and sacked him sooner than he could even stamp his footprint and playing pattern on the squad. That's why every new manager has to sell the players the previous one has brought in so he could have a chance to integrate players of his choice. If there is anyone who can have the time to indure a dire season with Chelsea, it is JM, because let's be honest - any other manager would have been sacked by now. Let's ride it out till the summer, look at the results etc and then reevalute when we have a longer transfer window ahead of us, an EC 2016 for new potential gems etc.

That's exactly what I'm feeling right now. Mourinho has a big mouth and is a provocative egoist but the players are being let too easily when we look at this situation and also situations of the past. Both camps need to reevaluate their approach and there is literally nothing to lose. We wont go down and we better not get Europa League qualification for the next season. So in the light of that, it does not matter if we finish 6th or 17th. The higher the position the better, of course. It can not be purely tactical fopa week in week out, so if we do get a new manager - will he be given enough time to even stamp his authority on the team? Mourinho is the only one with this kind of luxury to fail and hopefully try again next season with a new approach. We wont and cant do miracles in January.

Your fascination with Metsaj's posts is becoming embarrasing. Let people have their opinions, the fact that you disagree doesn't make them false.

Moslty it comes down to having a B team. We have the option to ship our loanees to a lot of teams with a lot of different apporach to football. We cant keep them near the first team, let them experience the atmosphere of having A team star players join in on trainings etc. Barca B is doing exactly what they expect a A team player to do - same footprint and style of football. Plus La Liga is less punisning, you can field a youth player that already knows the club way's inside out, because Barca can practically walk over any team in the world, let alone La Liga.
-
Dont worry mate, there are more supporters for Mourinho outside of this little forum, that is what matters in the end. Second observation I've made is that there are a lot of similar faces who are always for sacking a manager or slating them. Same faces who want Ancelotti in for Mourinho were the same people calling for his head after one trophyless season.
-
We are not getting relegated, that's for sure. The worst outcome would be to qualify for Europa league. I'd ratehr we stay out of europe for one year, get our act together and move on. One lousy year, it happens, we shouldn't overreact. The thing that scares me the most if having yet another manager that does not have the support of the fans/board Jose has and will get sacked sooner rather than later. The team and fans need unity, we need to stick together when it comes to hard times. We are spoilt. Players cant throw fits everytime they feel like primadonnas and same goes for Mourinho - he needs to learn how to handle his emotions (though, he is fooling the media and a lot of you guys with his dodgy interviews and keeping players off the radar), be more flexible. This is a learning curve for us all, we can't go the easy route everytime and spends stacks of money. We do not have the spine of players we used to, there is no authority in the dressing room. Terry's possibly last year, no Drogba to keep Costa working hard etc. I'm willing to go down this bumpy road if we must, but taking the easy route - enough of it.

I'm with you on this one but one of my dreams would be to visit the Bridge. It's a privilege not a necessity of being a fan.
-
That was a correct decision I'm afraid, mate. Hazard was abysmal and at one point I even checked livescores if he was in the lineup at all.
-
Our managerial record is haunting us at the moment. We have players brought in by different managers and in the end of the day it is nor fish nor fowl. Plus it was Mourinho who had retire long timer club servants. Looking from that respective, we currently have no real authorities in the squad. This seasons transfer window was more for our loan army but not for the 1st team.
-
Hazard has no ego, he has this joker image and he is living up to it - he is a joke at the moment. How come Willian shines and he doesn't? No excuses, he should be honest to himself and man up, take responsibility. His mental strength -or lack of it- is keeping him from becoming a top world class player.
-
I sincerely believe that one of the major factors we are in this situation right now boils down to the sheer number of managers we've had over the recent years. Every manager tries to bring in players he likes and sees suitable for his own formations and tactics. So in the end we are left with a team that does not work well together in a long run - neither fish nor fowl.
-
Voted no. If by January we are will realistiacally long way off TOP4, then I'm afraid the fairytale has ended. Though, I think the biggest mistake Mourinho did was not taking a year or two off from the Real Madrid fiasco. He is burnt out, you can see it form his negative attitude.

Level headed arguments. Totally agree with you on this.
