Santos star Neymar: There is nothing about Real Madrid The striker grew irritated after a journalist kept pushing him on a potential move away from South America after the Brazilian insisted he is focused on helping his club Santos striker Neymar, who is a target for Real Madrid and Chelsea among others, has insisted that he is fully focused on his current club. The Brazilian international did not take kindly to the line of questioning pursued by one journalist, who pushed him on the subject of his future. "I do not care about playing in order to impress other teams who are here to watch me," he said following a training session on Saturday. I have a match for Santos and I want to help them." When the journalist in question refused to accept Neymar's initial response, the 19-year-old hit back: "I already explained that I have nothing to say about other teams. "There is nothing about Real Madrid. I am a Santos player and I am playing in the Copa Libertadores final for Santos. That is what I care about." Neymar, who is preparing for Wednesday's second leg of the Copa Libertadores final against Penarol, has been pursued with such vigour that Santos are threatening to report to Fifa any interested suitors who talk directly to the player and his agent without first approaching the club.

Chelsea face fight with Real Madrid over Brazilian sensation Neymar as Spanish club prepare bid Chelsea will find out next week whether they can sign the exciting Brazilian striker Neymar without triggering a €45 million buy-out clause. The agent, Pini Zahavi, is due to fly to Brazil for talks with Neymar's club, Santos, and to try and head off a move by Real Madrid. Chelsea had hoped to sign Neymar for around €30 million but there are indications that Real might offer close to €40 million for the 19 year-old, who is a favourite of Roman Abramovich. At the same time Chelsea are set to bow out of the bidding to secure Alexis Sanchez, having grown weary of the efforts of his club, Udinese, to ramp up the transfer fee for the Chilean winger. Although Manchester City have made it clear they will beat any bid made for Sanchez it's believed the player would prefer a move to either Barcelona or Manchester United who have also register an interest. Representatives from United and Udinese were in Barcelona yesterday for a series of talks over Sanchez's future after public statements from the Italian club's president that City had lodged the highest bid. Chelsea had earmarked Sanchez, Neymar and Luka Modric as their main summer targets but there is a fear that they might miss out on all three players. Abramovich is particularly keen on Neymar and may become involved in the talks although he is extremely reluctant to pay the buy-out fee although he may have to if Real make an official bid. It had been thought that Neymar might remain at Santos for one more year having failed to agree a deal to move to Chelsea last summer. Tottenham Hotspur are adamant that Modric is not for sale but Chelsea are preparing to test that resolve by offering £35 million for the-year-old Croatian play-maker who is also wanted by United, although they have turned their attention to Arsenal's Samir Nasri. Chelsea, who are close to securing deals for Anderlecht's Romelu Lukaku and the Genk winger Kevin De Bruyne, are not interested in signing Nasri. On Tuesday the club's chief executive Ron Gourlay said that "two or three key players that we'd like to bring into the team" had been identified. He added: "But of course we'll probably have to wait until the new coach is in place." That, it's understood, is not necessarily the case although Gourlay suggested that Chelsea expect to announce the new manager within the next two weeks and before the players report for pre-season training in July 4. He refused to be drawn on Guus Hiddink, who is set to be offered a 12-month contract by Abramovich with the option for a further year as manager once he has secured his release as Turkey's coach, which moved a step closer on Tuesday with the announcement by the president of the country's football federation that he would not be standing for re-election. Mahmut Ozgener's decision to stand down, because he lacked support, removes a key ally for Hiddink and also gives the 64-year-old an excuse to negotiate himself out of the final year of his contract. However Chelsea are reluctant to pay the €4 million compensation being demanded by the Turks to release Hiddink and Abramovich is still mulling over his options having considered moves for Jose Mourinho and, even, Mark Hughes. Gourlay, who was in Hong Kong to promote a Chelsea club initiative, and ahead of the club's summer tour to the Far East, said: "It's a big season for us coming up. "Things didn't go as well as we hoped last season and plans are very much in place for next season to be back winning trophies. "As far as the manager is concerned, the process is going well but now is not the time for me to comment on who the next manager is going to be. Hopefully in the next week or two, we'll be in a position to announce who our new coach will be."

^ That is possible.. it's all up to him.. before the game of course he will say he is staying.. it's the most important game of his career... but if he wants to leave then he will leave.. simple. So never say never. One minute you say it's impossible he will leave another minute you say "Unless" which means there is some possibility.

"That could only be good for Neymar as a final complement to his transformation," Menezes said. "The style in England will give him stronger physical strength and he would develop to escape the strong marking. If he did that he would be a more complete player. Well the Telegraph is VERY reliable... if it was The Sun, etc I would have said it's Bullshit but yeah.. lol... I just hope He joins.. I've been so depressed today hearing all the news of him and Madrid.. even though Santos, Neymar, etc all denied it... I guess we aren't going to reach the release clause as well as they don't want to sell and he is very happy...

..Er...? Didn't the National coach want him to play in the Premier Leauge about 2-3 months back? Neymar advised to accept move to Premier League club by Brazil coach Mano Menezes Neymar's star has been rising for a while, with Chelsea having one rejected bid to their name already, and the Santos star backed up his growing reputation by scoring both goals in Brazil's 2-0 friendly win over Scotland at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium on Sunday. The 19-year-old only made his full Brazil debut in August but he already has three goals in three international appearances and Menezes admits a move to England would add another dimension to Neymar's game as he would have to learn how to cope with a more physical style of play. "That could only be good for Neymar as a final complement to his transformation," Menezes said. "The style in England will give him stronger physical strength and he would develop to escape the strong marking. If he did that he would be a more complete player. "I don't see any problem if he moved, although it is never good for the supporters in Brazil to see the best players leave. "I understand the personal motivations and financial ones that decide these things."

Blues undecided over Neymar bid ESPNsoccernet understands that Chelsea are undecided over whether to pursue their bid for Santos attacker Neymar. Chelsea attempted to sign Brazil star Neymar, 19, last summer but Santos made clear at that time that they had no wish to sell. The player then signed a new contract with Santos on significantly improved terms and, though the Blues have now improved on last year's £25 million offer, they have been warned their recent £30 million bid is still well short of Santos' valuation. Neymar has a €45 million (£39.6 million) buy-out clause in his contract, and Santos are refusing to accept anything less. The deal would therefore make him by some distance the most expensive teenager in the game. Roman Abramovich sanctioned £50 million for Fernando Torres in January and there is a belief at the club that Neymar could be the man to inject the creativity required to kickstart the Spaniard's career but, even so, the Chelsea owner would be loath to pay such a high fee for a player who remains untested in Europe. "It is not clear whether a move to Chelsea will go ahead," ESPNsoccernet's source said. "It might be that the price on the player's head is too rich even for Chelsea, but the player is just 19 and has years ahead of him, so it might not be that costly when looking at it from that point of view." Real Madrid have also been linked with the forward, and iG in Brazil claims Neymar is now talking to the former Madrid striker Ronaldo to seek advice over a potential move to the Bernabeu. It is claimed Madrid would prefer to sign Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Aguero, but are prepared to consider a move for Neymar should they fail
