  1. Well I bought it last week and it's exactly what I expected - a carelessly rushed and souless product. Don't wait for torrents, it's not even worth watching. I have to agree with everything that admin Alex already perfectly put in his excellent review. I didn't expect a special edition of our season with 4-5 discs but frankly the 'coverage' of many games is utterly pathetic. It's like a never ending goals porn just flashing in front of your eyes without getting any sense or feeling for the dynamics and build-up within the games. I understand it was a long season with 70 games and that they can't show extended highlights of every match, fair enough, but at the very least they could have included some bonus material or some fitting tribute to Lamps. I'm sick and tired of Chelsea's season review DVDs. I gave it another try after last season's debacle and yet they never fail to disappoint. Now I'm going for a different approach, I'm going to download every single MOTD version of all our games this season in order to make my own season review. I want a proper document of last season's campaign with line-ups for every game, proper highlights that actually tell the story of every game including chances created by the opposition to actually understand and study some of our weaknesses over the season and how (if at all) we improved in certain areas. Plus post match interviews. The only way to achieve that is to do it on your own. It may take some time but at the end I will have a proper document of our season to watch during holidays. Thank you to whoever is responsible for our season reviews, without you I wouldn't have come up with this idea. Cheers.
  2. Hy carefree88, thank you for sharing your impressions, could you please tell me about how the games are presented? Is it just goals or do they also show some highlights (woodwork, chances created, goal celebrations etc.) from each game as well? Stuff like Frank's shot at the crossbar in the final vs Benfica, Mata's freekick away at West Ham etc. Is that included? Thanks in advance, much appreciated.
  3. Something that's gone a bit unnoticed is that Frank's 2nd goal today was by no means just an easy tap-in. His positional sense to read the situation and to be at the right time at the right place is one thing, but there is more to it. I've watched it from different angles. Mata's shot had a bit side effet and a lot of power in it, plus it bounced off the ground, then Howard blocked it very well and thus further adding even more unpredictable wild rotation to the ball and then it took another bounce which makes it tough to control. When I was playing as a striker in my teenager years I found myself a lot of times in Frank's position with a wildly rotating ball in front of me where I had to react in the blink of an eye and either a) missed the entire ball, or missed the entire goal or c) failed miserably. What looked like an easy tap-in, required very quick reaction, composure, good touch and execution in general in order to put it under the crossbar because Frank only had the split of a second or so to do so, otherwise he would have missed the ball and then Mata behind him would have had even less time to react. My guess is he would have missed it too and one of the Everton players would have cleared it, probably even Distin with his left leg. To be honest I appreciate this kind of goals much more than the usual screamer from 30yards. The former requires real instinct and touch, the latter can be executed by virtually everybody with a bit of luck. Of course not on a consistent basis but you get my idea.
  4. Thank you. That's what I wanted to say. Everybody who is calling Frank a useless waste of a squad place and wants him out should not forget that during their rebuilding phase 2004-2006 many United fans were thinking the same about Scholes and Giggs when they have been absolutely awful without being injured the way Frank has been last season. Look back what happened. The club stuck with them and both have been vital squadplayers of three consecutive premiership titles. For me Scholes was even their best player on the way to the title in 2007 and Giggs was fantastic during their league camapaign of 2008-2009. Then you have people who believe that Frank would not accept such a role in the future. Why is that? Lampard is one of the smartest guys you will ever find out there, always thinking and looking about how to help his team the best possible way and if that means to become a vital squadplayer by abdicating his major midfield role and handing it over to Pastore, Sneijder, Modric or whoever, then I am 100 percent sure he will accept that for the sake of the team's natural development and success. This guy can assess very well his own capability and surely won't deceive or fool himself. Same goes with Didier and Terry one day. If we rest the legs of Frank properly and with foresight in the future we will benefit from it massively the same way United benefited from Scholes and Giggs. Just imagine the final third of upcoming seasons with the benefit of having extremely experienced players like Frank and Didier rested, fresh and motivated waiting for their chances like Scholes and Giggs did the last couple of years. As you correctly said: To use Frank the way United used Scholes and Giggs won't stop or prevent the much needed natural development of a younger squad, it's quite the opposite. Both parties will benefit from each other.
  5. Don't start being sarcastic, mate. You simply didn't get my point. Of course we need a successor for Frank as soon as possible. Someone who can offer creative spark, craft and dynamism that Frank hasn't anymore on the basis of a whole season. If I was AVB from this season on I would use him like Giggs and Scholes. My posting was not referring to guys hoping for Modric, Pastore and Co. to naturally help to develope our midfield. I'm one of them too. My posting was referring to guys calling Frank a useless waste of wages and crying (I didn't use that verb for nothing) for Modric and Pastore. Look at the matchthreads of cfcnet or other forums. Once an 'old' legend makes a mistake, he's a useless loser. It happened to Didier and Frank and very soon it's gonna happen to Terry. I hate people being disrespectful to our legends like Frank. But even if his successors were to to hit the ground running at Chelsea, the guys calling Lampard an old slowpoke would still realise how special he was once they realise that it's almost impossible to repeat Lamps incredible consistency over such a long period of time. Some people appear to forget very quickly.
  6. Once he retires, everybody who is crying now for the Modrics, Pastores and Nasris of this world, will realise how unique a 20 goals/15 assists per season midfielder really is.
