  1. Chicharito has been doing that since he got to the league and started. At least he's been consistent in that. Not like he just started doing it. At least he didn't get on the scoring sheet today.
  2. That made me laugh out loud. The only article on the game I've read is Henry Winter from the Telegraph who wrote it up pretty decently with all the highs and lows. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/premier-league/8765453/Manchester-United-3-Chelsea-1-match-report.html
  3. Another positive today: dirty scousers got spanked.
  4. I get it. Even though it's "just the Carling Cup", the competition, Fulham, won't be easy. Does AVB play the youngsters or go for it with the big boys because it's Fulham and they tied City today?
  5. Anybody have AVB quotes after the game? I admit I'm too lazy to look.
  6. Can't embed the link from his website but I posted the link above.
  7. Here's the link from his website. http://fernando9torres.com/index.php?s=multimedia&t=videos&c=10
  8. I like Mata a lot but last couple of games he's looked tired at the end which makes sense considering his movement. Welcome to the pace of the PL today. Thought Meireles didn't have a great game. Not awful, not great. Ramires is the energizer bunny out there. He and Torres need to say after and have a finishing session or two. Was surprised to see Anelka come on for Frank at half. Anelka has good movement and an eye for the final ball. Good job Anelka and AVB for making the decision. Defense is a little off kilter at the moment. The scoreline looks bad and the media will focus on Torres' miss. I'm choosing to focus on the improvement and speed of play the team has shown since week 1 and AVB's willingness to make changes to the squad. I posted in the wrong thread. Should be in the match thread.
  9. He can be brilliant one minute and then sh*t a few seconds later but I still love him. A friend said another reason he's getting better beside the quicker play and through balls (Anelka, Ramires) is his hair is getting lighter. Whatever it takes.
  10. I say the boys give him some stick at the next training session, laugh about it and move on. That's all you can do is laugh. And had two complete games.
  11. I'm a Torres homer. That said the first goal was quality. The miss. Words escape me. The only thing I can possibly think is he rushed it. Even so... wow.
  12. Pretty much spot on. Doesn't matter. All I'm concerned about is what AVB focuses on publicly (back the team) and privately (work on what needs to be worked on).
  13. Torres sublime goal to score and sublime miss. That's him to a T. Fantastic one second and wtf! (and not in a good way) the next. At least he scored one goal and hopefully there will be more. After his Spanish benching, Sunderland game, 2 assists during the week and a goal (should have been more) today. At least he's getting better.
  14. Maybe that early goal and the Shrek miss will give us a little extra something.
  15. For whatever reason Torres and Anelka click. Anelka seems to understand Torres movements. Good for both of them.
  16. Good thing Torres wasn't subbed at halftime.
  17. I didn't realize the season was won or lost in mid-September. There's a lot of football left. Remember how well Chelsea started last season?
  18. Why is AVB ruthless and drops Frank and JT where Fergie is resting players? Stupid media.
  19. I know it's not England but I'm a firm believer in the 1st Amendment. I respect everybody's right to say what they think. I don't have to agree or respect what they say though.
  20. The internal Chesea/Torres/they're old and slow investigation is over according to the media.
  21. What happened to Torres' hand? He's had it wrapped since he was with Spain. Glad to hear the investigation is over. Now I can rest comfortably.
  22. A week ago the media were all over Frank, his days were numbered with the English squad because he was too old, too slow (sound familiar?). Then the next day it was Torres' turn with Spain. Then they come back to Cobham to train, game time Frank starts and Torres doesn't. All is forgotten about Frank in the media and his demise earlier in the week and now it's all Torres. Torres didn't have a good 15-20 minutes on Saturday but the noise level seems like he played 90+ minutes and missed chance after chance. According to some AVB was a God because he had the balls to drop Torres. He's dropped Drogba, he's dropped Anelka, Kalou, Malouda, Torres. I say he's a God when he has the balls to drop Frank but that's just me. Resume normal broadcasting, ie Torres bashing.
  23. I have watched Torres for over a decade and this stretch he's going through is even starting to worry me. He's so off (form, mental) that it's not even funny. On the other hand, in 10+ years of watching, I've never seen him play with some players who seem so unable and unwilling to play with him. If the choice is to play Torres and Malouda together, I'd rather see Torres sit on the bench because those two together are completely incompatible.
