I thought so. Wenger MUST spend some money this summer especially if Nasri or Fabregas or both leave. This guy fits the bill:young,talented,hot prospect,played in France...Just what he is looking for.

Now we are going really off topic... 1.I remember Essien or Ramires often being brought on for Mikel at HT.How do you comment that ?I'd say he is slow in transition,doesn't provide the pace that our play desperately requires(check last season). 2.It wasn't always both of them.Ballack-Essien-Lampard was our midfield for many seasons.Mikel was never the first choice because we don't have the possibility to play with holding midfielder since Makelele left.Obi was presented as a new Maka,but never proved it on the pitch. 2.He gets booked for a meaningless faul while Vieira gets a yellow card to prevent the opposition to create a quick counter-attack and score. It all comes down to this: Mikel or Essien ?

Ok.Let's say you're right and I'm wrong.Then,my questions would be: 1.Why does he get substituted almost every match(especially big matches) when we are down at half time ? 2.Why does every single manager at Chelsea play Essien(if fit) over him in those matches ? 3.Why does he get so many bookings in big games(Liverpool home this season,remember the yellow card after just 20 seconds) and make other players nervous ? Just to make things clear,he is a good player and a decent holding midfielder/DMF(already mentioned his good sides in my other post),but in this system he is not my first choice for that position.

Important note: Mikel and big games just don't go together. He can play against Bolton,Stoke,Birmingham etc.In those games we need someone to keep the ball,play some simple passes and to be calm.Ancelotti used him in that position when Essien was injured,but in big games he never performed(this season:Liverpool home,ManU away-matches that i can think of right now).It was always going to be Bison over him.My point is:if it comes down to selling one of them,I'd chose Obi. ___________Essien__________ _____Ramires____Sneijder_____ ___________Essien__________ ____Sneijder____Lamps_______ _____Ramires___McEachran___ _______Sneijder/Lamps_______ We can always rotate Lamps and Wesley in that position to keep everyone fresh.We can even use the two of them together.Frank as a scoring midfielder and Sneijder as a typical playmaker.

Just replace Essien with Kalou,Anelka or Bosingwa and we're ok.

Almost the same story with Torres. Yes,he did the treble in Italy,but Premiership is something totally different and Chelsea is a challenge to everyone + his wage would be pretty big motivation to show us the quality he definitely has. Hamsik and Pastore are good players,but not the ones we need.It's either Sneijder or Modric for me.

Why do we even have the academy ?

Delac said about two months ago that Chelsea is going to send him on loan,but not outside England. He also mentioned he is looking forward to the new club and hopes he'll be able to fight for his place in starting XI. Begovic won't come because he'll never be our first choice and he wants to play every game.Cech is untouchable here.Asmir did state he is honoured to be a target for such a big club like Chelsea,but he also claimed that being a first goalie is more important than money(he'll probably earn a lot more here as a reserve). Don't know about Hahnemann,but we definitely MUST NOT enter the new season with Turnbull and Hilario as back-up.

Yes,he did score lot of goals this season and has been creative,but the problem is that he doesn't fit in the 'new Chelsea' project. It is because we must play quick,fast and furious when we win the ball and Malouda isn't the man for that.Showed it in big matches,last time vs Manure in EPL.He is active only when we are in possesion.No way is he going to track back and help Ash in defence.So,I hope he doesn't get new contract,infact he should leave this summer. I'd rather have Zhirkov next season than Malouda.

Agree about the last part,but I'm not saying play McEachran over Lampard or Sturridge over Drogba.Play them instead of Mikel,Kalou,Ferreira...Just give them a chance they definitely deserve. Arsenal has loads of youngsters and they don't have the necessary balance.We can have that mix of older,more experienced players with new faces from the academy.And this season was the right moment to introduce them. I'm suggesting this because if they are in the team we don't need to spend our money on squad players that are old and have big wages.For example,instead of signing Benayoun last summer we could of given Kakuta a chance. You didn't understand.If I wanted to see youth playing at all the time,I'd be Arse fan.

Why does Arsenal play their youth when they are no better than ours ? I didn't say a manager should play youth consistently and at the same time expect results.That is nonsense. But we could have used this bad season to try some of them,give them more playing time and see who is good enough.
