  1. He's more than promising, he's as guaranteed a bet as Reece James was in 2019. The only way he should be sold is if he starts behaving in ways that keeping him becomes impossible.
  2. Worth is relative. I'd say for us Enzo was defiently worth the money. Midfielders of his skillset are unbelievably rare and when they come are usually reserved for the Madrids/Barcas of this world, the last one of his type that had any interest in coming here was Modric and even then we eventually got blown out of the water by Madrid entering the fray. Failing to get Enzo would have been a major major blunder. It was hard enough watching him at the world cup (I didn't think we had a snowballs in hells chance of getting him at that point), seeing him at a rival knowing he could have been ours would have stinged, hard.
  3. We have the option of an extra year if he plays a certain amount of games.
  4. Have we not learned from all the "PL proven" players we've signed the last two years?
  5. Playing with your feet is a way to defend. Opponents can't hurt you if they don't have the ball.
  6. Funniest thing most of the ones moaning don't even know Todd resigned from his director role and when it comes to running the football side of things these days he's at best Eghbali's lackey. When I point this out of opposition fans I enjoy watching them trip over themselves after, for me to have to point it out to our own fans is embarrassing.
  7. Or maybe if you critisize Boehly in isolation without trying to gaslight us that things were all roses and rainbows when we got ourselves banned from the transfer market either side of breaking transfer records on Lukaku and Kepa people won't mention how wrong that is. Just a thought!
  8. It's strange how you're dismissing Pochettino for "not winning a one team league" yet in a previous post praise Ten Hag who failed to do the exact same thing.
  9. I'm a bit indifferent towards Cucurella at this point. I don't feel he's been as bad as made out and would be decent under Pochettino but equally I won't lose any sleep if he does go.
  10. We've already signed a number 9.
  11. They pulled the same shit when Willian went to Arsenal and look how that ended.
  12. I'd rather wait and take the short term pain than just buy anyone. Eventually a good fit will fall into our lap. After seeing the end result of Lukaku and Auba I find it incredible how many people seem happy for us to just go for anyone at a certain age with a decent enough goal record.
  13. It will be hilarious if he does a Dele Alli now.
  14. Find me the posts of one poster who said he was shit before and done a total 180 based on this match.
  15. And how do we know the "proven goalscorer" guarantees us top four? But to answer your question I want us to be back challenging for the league again properly, if in hypothetical world missing out again is the cost of building something more sustainable while the alternative is a sticky plaster top four finish ala United season just gone or Tottenham in 21/22 then yes the former.
  16. For all their flaws they hit consistent scoring numbers in the league pre us. You may say City tax for Sterling but Grealish isn't touching his goal figures.
  17. I'd rather we focused on getting a system sorted first rather than just looking at the top line even if it means short term pain. We signed three proven PL goalscorers in the last two summers and the end result was beating an individual players total by the skin of our teeth.
  18. What happened there? He was Inter bound last I heard.
  19. And how many did peak Mendy concede? Genuinely off the top of my head can't recall one. I thought you'd be the one calling for a new keeper the most as you said you expect a title challenge next season. You can argue Kepa for all his flaws we can still make top four with him but the title? No chance.
  20. This is the same guy that put Mount in his all time Chelsea Xl (even as someone who rates his best version highly that's utterly laughable) and keeps crying how we won't sign established/experienced top class players under this ownership despite doing exactly that 10 days ago.
  21. You've literally just proved the point you've been arguing against (about Boehly's decision making influence being severely reduced at best).
  22. That's even worse, they're paid to get things right or atleast not be so lazy.
  23. It's bad enough having to tell opposition fans this.
  24. They'll find and excuse and so will the media. Their PR is genius, one of the biggest title bottle jobs in PL history and they're getting nothing but praise for it.
  25. Was literally reported by Matt Law and the BBC amongst others that he's resigned from his sporting director role. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/01/09/todd-boehly-stands-chelseas-interim-sporting-director/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/articles/cprn52vj28vo.amp And it was well reported in the Mudryk and Enzo deals that Eghbali and the recruitment team took command. At absolute most Todd is a glorified second in command these days.
