They were "fixed" defensively when Rafa was there and had better players going forward but 08/09 aside never looked like winning the league.
-
Henry was already quality had a rough time in Turin, Nasri was already amazing at Marseille, Van Persie ill give, Clichy is a donkey and Song is good but nowhere near world class.

So we wont pay a extra few million, when did Arsene Wenger find his way into our boardroom?
-
David Luiz came out of nowhere in the evening, maybe that will happen with Neymar this season?

Why the hell do we loan players to fucking Vittese? A loan for a young player should either be to a English club where they get to grips with the English game or to a top foreign club were they get a feel for a winning mentality, at Vittese they are going to get neither.

Looks like a quiet day for us so far, nothing about us on the bcc page

Beat Randalls 4-1, not bad that, Alex ive challenged you, Zashko you the week after

Imagine after trying to flog them all summer the irony if Malouda, Kalou (Arsenal are apparently considering interest again) and Yossi all go Goonies on dealine day

Right im going to try and get one thing clear, Merieiles may not be the household addition, but one thing we miss without Essien that seems to go un-noticed due to the obsession with width and creativity is a midfielder that could take a big game by the bull of the horns. Mikel im not sure he can do that, Ramires while he will be great for us im still not sure he could dominate in a big match just yet and Romeu will be 50/50. Merieles has been there and done it, we lack a hardman in the middle with Essien out and Ballack gone and that is the one element that worries me for the big games, with Raul Mereilies in that will be sorted. I do not honestly think Merieles is a "plan b" for Modric, i think AVB is planning on bringing them both in. Yes i know my spelling of Merieiles is shit and inconsistent but this is a football forum not a spelling competition (just incase anyone picks up on it).

a season long suspension would be pretty funny but i wouldn't wish a injury on anyone.

Remember when they signed Squallaci last summer and every one was saying oh shit Wenger has brought in some expierence, Arsenal are going to be a force and what happens? From what ive seen of Mertesacker in euro 2008 i was not impressed, him and Metzelder in the middle was like watching a episode of the chuckle brothers go wrong.

I didn't even need to think it has got to be Conor Clifford, im sure he will make it he is a born leader and big game player. I know its only league one but he turned Plymouth's fortunes around last season on his own, had he stayed longer they would have stayed up no doubt. What we need to remember about Ivanovic is he is 27 himself, by the time JT retires or has his role lessened Ivanovic will be in his 30's with not that long left himself.

I need to rewind a bit, Alex, Yossi, Malouda and Kalou are all wanted by Wenger apparently (wonder if its true) imagine if the players we have been trying to offload (Alex aside) end up getting signed by Wenger on deadline day. EDIT: Arsenal aint interested in Kalou at-all.

Silly thing is he could have probally done a job for us this season.

After ive played Randall ill invite just bluelion's Fake Madrid instead of the whole league and Zashko ill play you the week after if you like?
-
To be fair that was one of the most toothless performances ive ever seen from us, apart from David Luiz not one of our players had a good game.
-
Jenny thinks he can get Sturridge as part of a deal when he is 10 times the player they wasted i mean spent £35m on, fuck off Queen Cashback. I would not mind it happening purely because id love to see the scouse humour when they tell us he was never that good and they have always beilieved Henderson was superior
-
For the love of god if we send him on loan let it be a decent team and not Vittese, they are a shite dutch club battling relegation, we need our players to pick up a winning mentality how the fuck is he going to do that there? Although on a more positive note im getting more and more positive about this signing the more i hear about him.

Morning all, does any one remember last summer when Drogba and Ash were supposedly wanted by Real Madrid and Manchester City respectively for £20m and £29m respectively, not sure about the truth with the Drogba one but the interest in Cole by Jose was without doubt genuine. Ill start with Cole, he was outstanding in the double winning season and came back from injury in the final 3 games to help us steamroller our way to the double, but the opening couple of months aside he was pretty average last season and i sadly believe the only way is down for him now. I remember saying at the time of Madrids interest to my mate, while Cole is the best LB in the world but £29m for a left back approaching 30, we should have took the money and ran, made Yuri our left back and spent that money on a creative midfielder or someone we need. Looking back it would have hardly been a disaster had we done it now. Drogba was the same in my book, 2009/2010 was his best season yet, 37 goals without being the first choice penalty taker and being away at the ACON for a month says it all, but the chances of him repeating that again were unlikely and at the time he was 32 and a £20m offer for him at that age should have been accepted and that money would have gone some way to helping us fund for a young and hungry forward. While Didier is and always will be a Chelsea legend sometimes you just need to realise when the right time to let players go is. Although the unfortunate malaria incident hardly helped his course he looked a shadow of the player from 2009/2010 even before he was worringly sticken by the illness. I think the stumbling block to those happening was Carlo and even me as a massive Carlo fan would admit he does over rely on expierence, has we had Andre at that moment i personally believe it would have been goodbye, thanks for everything and good luck. £49m we could have had and now we will be lucky to get £20m. So question to my fellow blue fan's, do you aswell as me believe we missed a trick not moving these two lads on last summer? had we did they would always be remembered as the players that helped us storm to the double no matter what, a bit like Ballack, bar the end of 07/08 and the end of the double season he never really shown top form for us but its the way he helped us to the double is how we remember him today, the same would have been the case for Drogba and Ash. As ive said Drogba will always be a legend for us and Ash will always be remembered for the way he helped us to the double, but Manchester United are the kings of letting players go at the right time and i personally believe we really missed a trick not moving these guys on when we got these offers (if in City and Drogba's case). what's your view?
-
Does that mean the top teams wont play in the premierleague or will they play in both?
-
well if i got it wrong i got it wrong but what am i suppose to think when you say this "It's not like Barcelona of years ago, when Liverpool and Chelsea where able to beat them." Looks like we both got to the conclusion there currently the best but not unbeatable so best leave it here because i cannot be bothered to go on all night.
-
Barca had one penalty that should have been at the Camp Nou we have about 5 chalked off at SW6. Im not full of hate for Barca personally i accept their the best team CURRENTLY, i just hate the best team ever nonsense and their unbeatable shite, they can be beaten and there is every chance a team will do it in the CL and i personally believe Jose will pip them to the title aswell in a similar way he stalled the Arsenal "invincibles" against the odds.
-
So basically your saying there unbeatable? there not and the sooner Madrid pip the title off them and another Hercules come to the Nou Camp to prove it the better. TBH if Bendtner had better ball control we would not even be having this discussion.
-
One final they should not have been in because we royally battered them in the semis and got robbed by the ref. Its pretty worrying that fans of rival teams to Barca and loving them, when Arsenal went unbeaten did you see rival fans bigging them up all the time? no because however great those teams were they are still rivals, same as far as im concerned goes for Barca.
-
Wouldnt it make more sense just to keep De Brune instead of loaning him out and splashing out of someone else
