That basically was down to the fact we were devastating when teams attacked us. When teams sat back and we had to find a way ourselves we were utterly clueless unless Pulisic was playing like superman, even against the worst team at home we made a meal out of breaking them down. An example to what i'm saying would be United, season before last they shipped 54 just like we did last season, they decided to prioritize their defense and granted they did concede a lot less, but ultimately they still needed a game changing attacking player in January to even match their points total from the season they conceded 54.
-
Because breaking down parked was even more of a problem last year than defense. Put it this way, last season we don't score three in 45 minutes against a team sitting that deep.
-
We can't have it both ways. Under previous managers we moaned about strong performances not being rewarded now we're moaning that they are?
-
Just to note, this is the second time he's come off the bench with us 3 goals down and helped us to a result.
-
It was widely reported Kepa was Sarri's choice and he wanted to sign him at Napoli (on Reina's recommendation) but for many reasons it was a non starter.
-
For all of Alonso's many faults he atleast has an upside of some substance even if we only see it 1 game in 6. When those games come along he can win us a match as Spurs especially have found out more than once. Emerson may aswell change his name to John Doe, the fact his finest hour came in a 4-0 defeat says it all.
-
I see Emerson has inherited the Begovic/Baba Rahman trait of getting better the less they plays.
-
I hope the former two get called up, they can do with the extra match fitness especially in Ziyech's case who hasn't played competitive football since March.
-
The resemblance to Hilario is uncanny. Put him in for a one off match and he'll do a job, but anything more and his lack of quality comes bursting to the fore. That's why i want us to find a new back up if we can somehow find Kepa a new home.
-
This the same Arteta that got thoroughly outplayed by Moyes on his own patch and fluked a win with their only shot of the second half?
-
Well for a start i imagine he'll play the youth team as they have a league game and Europa game 2 days either side. Secondly Lampard has thoroughly outfought Mourinho everytime they've faced eachother.
-
Notice how a certain newish pair have suddenly stopped talking about him.
-
It's not about defending anyone I'm just bored of these conspiracy's, every time a rival gets a debatable decision for or us against its apparently part of some widespread conspiracy to fuck us over. The state of refering in this country is bad, we will all win points and lose some because of it. And this doesn't just stop with us, all rival fans are just as bad, United fans were unbearable for years over that Drogba offside, Arsenal fans still won't shut up about Jorginho not getting a red at The Emirates.
-
Likewise with United earlier but it didn't stop people going on about how the ref's are in their pocket.
-
Also to add we really got away with one with VAR for that equaliser, so can these conspiracy theories stop now?

This was a better performance than Brighton, West Brom scored 3 almost by accident. The one thing we can bring is we didn't crumble after the setback, after the first we carried on playing well and after that ridiculous couple of minutes we kept going and didn't put our head down, my one big gripe last season and especially under Sarri was that we could play well concede a goal then totally crumble (Bournemouth 4-0 prime example, we were actually brilliant in the first half). Still two points dropped today despite the comeback but I feel a lot better about the season well atleast from an attacking perspective.
-
Seriously? AC has been really good today despite the score.

That will be up for the board to decide if it comes to it. Pochettino's record in the market is hopeless (look at his signings at Spurs, all bar about four flopped), his style basically revolves around pressing players into mistakes (which in fairness his Spurs side at their peak were one of the best ever at doing) and he drops too many points against teams who sit back (which would be fatal when trying to challenge Pe and Klopp) as his team's don't really tend to have the creative edge to break parked buses.
-
Even if Lampard gets sacked, we shouldn't go anywhere near Pochettino.
-
That's what I love about Emerson, the more he doesn't play the better he gets.
-
Wouldn't want Pochettino. He's terrible in the transfer market and his brand of football is overrated.
-
You mean the Arteta who needed an inspired Martinez to seal 8th spot above Burnley?
-
@R2D2 doesn't have any patience he wants it all and wants it now.
-
Hopefully we see a diamond today, suits the team we have out perfectly.
