Yep, that could've been the scenario, but it never happened, and thanks to Cech. However there is only one Didier Drogba, remember that!, we wont get another like him who scores those big goals, no one but him could've done that. And I am not downplaying Cech in any possible way at all here when is say he's not the only keeper in the world who could've saved that penalty. Had it of been up to me to pick the man between the posts in our campaign, i would've picked Cech any day of the week for how good he was, couldn't replace him at all. I think he is, Drogba is unplayable, what don't people understand about that?. Lampard was a great player but it's not fair to say he was our best player, I think Gerrard has been better than Lampard overall if I'm honest. Drogba was quality when he first came in (i don't literally mean his first game), he wasn't a goal machine, but goals came with him. That's not the striker he is, he's always been a team player, and when he was in the team the team scored goals, down to him. You're disrespecting him way too much, he's a Chelsea legend through and through. How many cups has Drogba won us?, the amount of winners and equalises in cup finals he's scored is scary, down to him we've won so many cups.

Give it 10 years and we look back on this list, it will be very weird. I expect Oscar to be number 1, as i think he has a huge future ahead of him, i think he's the type of player we will do well to keep on to. Nice to see Jimmy Floyd up there too. I have to say though, Makalele has to be higher and i don't know how Essien never made the list. You're using stats to get your point across about it?, without Drogba we wouldn't of scored most of the goals we did whilest we had him, I'm not joking, although he might not be on the assist, or goals list, but he had a major part to play in most of them goals. Always making space for other players, or playing a great pass to one player for them to pass it to the other and goes on to be a goal. He's also the man who won us the Champions League, everyone played a huge part in it, but it was Drogba who kept saving our arses, he's the Chelsea god. And for me he has to be our best player. Lampard will always go down as one of the best, but i don't think he will be the very best, i don't think Drogs will either, and I'm talking about the next 10 years here.

Aye i agree, despite his world class performances in Champions League, you cannot forget the amount of faults and bad games he had during the first half of that season. Yes AVB was manager, but really that Arsenal game was pathetic, did he even make one save that match?, any shot from Arsenal just went in, Andre Santos and Theo Walcott wont get any easier goals in there lives. Then there was that time when he cost us a goal 3 times in a row, with Spurs, Fulham and i can't remember the other one.

Cech Azpi-Cahill-Terry-Cole Ramires-Mikel Oscar-Lampard-Hazard Sturridge Swansea are on form it seems, they were very good against City and deserved a point at least, in stats wise they were better. Beat Liverpool 3-1 at anfield yesterday. So it will be a tricky game, just got to really penetrate there defence.
