He wasn't one of the best at all, he was good that was it... he was good. And want to know why people overrate his performance then?, because the likes of Essien was underperforming and Romeu wasn't doing too well when he was coming on. He also wasn't even that good against Barcelona, he was just in the right positions for once, he kept losing the ball and mistiming challenges. In the CL final he was good, but come on, who the fuck wasn't good?, even Bosingwa had a good game and Kalou. And don't forget our midfield was completely dominated, so Mikel wasn't world class or anything, but he did do well in tracking back which was very surprising.
