  1. So what you're saying is Mourinho doesn't really coach; he just assembles a good group of players and tells them to go out there and cope with whatever happens. That explains why we look so disorganised and clueless a lot of the time to be honest.
  2. Costa scored 8 goals in 9 Champions League games last season.
  3. Fabregas reminded me so much of Mata last night: slow, weak and completely pointless. We may as well have had another runner or defender in his place; that would almost certainly have benefitted us more than whatever Fabregas was offering.
  4. Apparently 2 shots on goal is a perfectly balanced display away from home and 1-1 is the absolute best we could have managed. Win away against a top team? Don't be daft. That's impossible. Jose told me so.
  5. I was always under the impression that parking the bus meant you were solid defensively. That was always the one redeeming feature and we don't even get that now ffs. Embarrassing.
  6. Yeah, because PSG started committing more bodies forward and pushing. Once they did that we broke down as usual i.e. Ivanovic out of position, players isolated, Cahill missing headers etc. Contrary to popular belief we're not very good at defending. Any 'control' we had was because PSG didn't put pressure on us, in my opinion. Once they did all that was left was for Courtois to make save after save.
  7. I found this approach waaaaaaaaaay more entertaining when we had shitter players than we do now.
  8. See, now that's illogical. You're speaking as if we scored an own-goal. PSG had 4 players in the box when Cavani scored, they were pushing for the goal. It was an inch-perfect cross and an excellent header. Terry/Cahill didn't pick the ball up and throw it into our goal.
  9. PSG were very tentative and weary of the counter attack initially; once they needed to press and actually push for a goal we caved in like we have done repeatedly this season. You call it control but to me PSG were afraid of being undone on the counter attack; their initial approach suited us perfectly. Once they went for it there was no resistance. Any hint of pressure from the opposition and we completely fall away whilst offering nothing in return.
  10. Trust me, I'm not making any excuses for him. He makes some basic mistakes at times which is very frustrating but then again I'm sure he's equally frustrated playing in a team that completely abandons the attacking side of the game against every half-decent team they play against.
  11. PSG created many decent chances over the course of the game - many of which came after they scored the equaliser. Relative in that it was 1-0 until we eventually conceded. They were pulling us all over the field. What's been happening a lot this season is we park the bus but don't actually do any defending. We just concede space, offer nothing on the counter and just try to see the game out. We did not have any control whatsoever in the second half.
  12. He's being tightly marked by one player and there is always another one covering nearby. Close control has never been his forte and the tactics we play expose his deficiencies and highlight none of his actual quality. We essentially reduced one of the best strikers in the world to playing as a DM; we created nothing for him, left him isolated a lot and then complain about his lack of close control.
  13. I think our tactics in big games make it very difficult for our attacking players. I can't and I won't blame Costa when we are so fucking negative.
  14. Or maybe he just needs to be part of a more pro-active team who actually create chances for him?
  15. PSG 14 shots Chelsea 2 shots (1 on target) PSG 7corners Chelsea 1 corner Loving this new Chelsea.
  16. By cheap goal do you mean PSG scoring from one of their many well worked moves? Most of which resulted in Courtois making a save?
  17. That is what makes 2012 even more bizarre. Our shit tactics finally worked in Europe.
  18. Meet the new Chelsea, same as the old Chelsea.
  19. Positives: Courtois is very good at making saves. That's something that will be very important as it's very easy to create chances against us. Hazard has REALLY improved at playing left-wing back; that's something that will be very important if we make the latter stages of the Champions League. Negatives: Fabregas is useless in these kind of games. The second half was awful to watch. Jose's subs are completely pointless at this point. Scoring first means we switch off completely and don't even bother the pretence of offering something on the counter-attack.
  20. Our goalkeeper is MOTM. The Man Utd of the Champions League.
  21. I think this is Hazard's best ever performance at left-wing back. He's really improved at it.
  22. Fabregas' legs have been gone for about 30 mins. Completely killing any semblance of a pressing game.
  23. Get Fabregas off. There's no point of him playing in this kind of game. Get somebody who can run and cover ground. Mata would have been crucified for this kind of performance.
