This is just an horrible decision. One of the things i dislike in Mourinho is how he loves adding more and more fuel to the fire, and he just did it again.
Why both Kenedy and Traore? Porque Jose? we have 3 wingers (Pedro, Willian, Hazard) who are way above those two in our hierarchy. No way that both Kenedy and Traore going to get significant amount of minutes.
In central defense however we have serious issues. Right now we dont have a clear CB pair, Jose wanted a CB for a reason.
So first it says he dont know Papy which we already knew, but Jose wanted a CB and the club gave him one, so ffs give the player a chance before you lower his status to "non-relevant", before he kicked a ball!
if it was Stones or Abdennour, you think Traore would have made the CL squad? no way. Im sure the club dont like it, Jose is just starting wars in the most horrible moments.

Im thinking a lot about this transfer window, my conclusion on it is that the board, the club, does have a view, they look into the future and they're trying to stay on a very specific road. Its the academy and also the transfers. The question is if Mourinho is in the same mind as the board, and if he's the right manager to lead us in this road.
The primary targets we had this summer - Stones, Pogba, Baba - shows that the club want to be based on the young players who will become top players. Rob Beasley (who is an annoying bastard but he was right about everything he said this summer),
said it like one-two months ago - the club wants more of the Hazard, Oscar and Courtois signings. And i think the club is very specific about those type of targets, which makes the market so limited for us. The club doesnt want to spend too much on stop-gap signings, and until now it happend only when we were in some kind of pressure - (1) we wanted to win the title, didnt find a young player for an important role and had a special opportunity (Fabregas. And i think the main target for this position was Koke), (2) we were in a situation that we dont have any depth in the middle of a season (Cuadrado), and (3) when we started the season badly and Mourinho was no longer happy (Pedro, Djilobodji who was supposed to be Abdennour. Although he didnt chose to bring a stop-gap CM).
Mourinho said this summer "When i came back to Chelsea, Abramovich told me you have to compete for trophis, he didnt say i have to win them". The fact he chose to say that means something about the club imo. I think the club is not as obsessed to win trophies as we may think, its just that we have a manager who is obsessed to win at all cost. This quote above is not the only one, Jose talked a lot this summer about the board and 'what we want to do as a club', and from those quotes you can easily understand its not a usual approach for him to work under, and its not easy for him. But, he says he's happy with this approach. Now we'll see, according to the way he picks his line-ups, according to the way of playing, if he really can and should lead this project. For example, there is no excuses for not giving RLC a lot of playing time (if he's really that talented, i dont know) when he competes with Mikel and Ramires, and there is no excuses to keep Ivanovic on the field when we have Baba.

Bizzare from the club to even try that. PSG wouldnt have sold him in May, July or 1st of September. Although i think the bids came in couple of days ago, french media reported about it. Sky are just late i think.
-
We have made a bid for Marquinhos
Was already reported in France in the last two days.

If anything, it's Marina. Signings have gone downhill since she's been given a major role. Emenalo has made some very good signings for the club.
We cant really know who's to blame. Could be Mourinho, could be the board... anyway i dont think the fault is with Marina, as far as i know she only negotiate to close the deals, our real problem this summer was not having alternatives for CM and CB.
Marina is not in charge of naming transfer targets, its Mourinho. So the questions are if he did it and how, and what did the board say about those names.
We signed Cesc, Costa and Matic with Marina so i dont know how bad she was in closing deals...

Axel Witsel: "Zenit told me I couldn't leave. Even not for β¬70m. It's a pity as I hoped to leave, but I understand their decision."

In the end of last season i wanted 3 new players: RW (starter), CB (starter/squad player), CM (starter/squad).
RW - Pedro happend very late, probably after the board panicked from the awful start, but im happy about the signing, think he's going to be very important for us. The negative part is the age, and the excuse is the limited market for top wingers. 8/10
CB - Dont know those two random CBs, the chance of them succsiding is better than nothing but its a pure guess by the club. The board acted strangly here, we chased Stones for a long time like he's the only CB we want (and if not him then no one), then it looks like the start of the season made them realise we HAVE to get a fast CB, so they throw all those late naive bids for 3-6 players reportedlely. Strange things can happen, and one of our new CBs can be the new Varane, but thats not good enough. 2/10
CM - Seems like we only pushed for Pogba, while i believe we're one of few clubs who asked about Koke and got turned down by him. Dont know what happend behind the scenes, who decided what, but the bottom line is that you got to have alternatives.
A CM was a must. Ramires and Mikel are not good enough, and Matic-Cesc partnership is far from the real deal. We needed a box-to-box CM who can play next to Matic-Cesc in the big games or every game, we needed depth, we didnt got it. 0/10
(The scores based only on my point of view of 'what we need', i dont know what the club really intended to do this summer)
To conclude we have to hope that our CBs and CMs/CAMs will contribute more than expected. But i have to say that the bigger hope is that Mourinho will start working with this squad, try new things and do some changes. Because our current form has nothing to do with new players coming or not. Its because of very poor handling by Mourinho since January IMO. I was ok with playing ugly from January to May just to win the league, dont mind that too much because i only wanted us to win the title, but i expected Mourinho to lift the squad immediately in the start of a new season, maybe do couple of things differently.
* Of course there are also Begovic (seems like a great 2nd GK to have), Falcao (no big difference from Drogba probably) and Baba (I'll wait on him, wanted Luis to stay but Baba looks like a talent so lets see),

lol just watching Sky...
Reporter 1: "I honestly dont think Stones wanted to move to Chelsea"
Reporter 2 : "But he did hand in a transfer request..."
Reporter 1: "No, i dont care about that, i have no interest in that"

Who is this guy and is he reliable ?
Avram Grant's agent.
-
On JPLUS1, a show about football on Canal+ tonight, it's like skysports in UK, there is an agent who said,
They ask him about this deal because everybody is surprised in France.
"I spoke with Luis Campos (Director of Monaco and good friend of JosΓ© and Jorge Mendes), he told me, JosΓ© got owned on this deal"
Got owned by...?

He says we had a plane waiting to pick him up and take him to London but he preferred Valencia's offer.

Sounds like a typical 'Chelsea Hijack' at the last minute, until it didnt work.
In general, i think Mourinho went to this summer wanting only Varane, and if not him so Stones, as the "Ultimate Future CB". Then the season started and he saw his defense is shambolic, in present.
IMO thats the reason to those late tries for Abdennour, Marqinuos, maybe Garay.
-
We also need a no.10. The guy in your avatar has been occupying that role lately. Done fuck all.
If pogba would have come he'll play instead of Willian/Oscar.
-
We need more than Pogba at this moment in time. Shambles all over the pitch.
We need a manager, we dont have one right now.
Pogba would make ZERO difference as long as the team playing like that.

It went like this with Gundogan this summer:
1. A statment that he leaves Dortmund.
2. Rumors about United, Bayern and Barcelona.
3. No one closed the deal.
4. Rumors in Spain about him asking for ridiculous wages / Suggestions that he was just failing medicals.
5. New contract in Dortmund.
-
Would need a serious u-turn by him and Dortmund right now... he looks settled in the team again.
-
It means really nothing because in the second picture there's Coman for whom Juventus are rumoured to be close to reach a deal with Bayern.
Not true. Juventus rejected the second offer from Bayern.
-
Seriously, who really cares about this deal?
I just cant get excited about it. For me Stones can turn into a world class CB and can also turn into a huge flop.
If Mourinho wants another CB in the squad he will get one this week, and maybe a better CB than Stones right now. If its just the chance to get Stones, big deal, so we'll find a different "Future Terry replacement" next summer.

The biggest difference between us and City financially is that they have an almost limitless amount of wealth, we don't. We rely on only one guy for our transfer budget. They have an entire conglomerate backing them. They're about to spend 150 mil pounds in this transfer window like it's nothing and can do so every season if they choose with the relaxing of FFP. We can't do this.
If we want to sign Pogba it means we can spend around the same numbers of City this summer.
-
We should bid the release clause for Koke. Creativity, assists, setpieces, laliga experience and hardwork mixed in one.
He said multiple times he wants to stay in Atletico and end his career there, he rejected Barca last summer and im sure he rejected more clubs (including us) this summer.
If it was a possible move Koke wouldnt be in Atletico right now.
-
Thats from earlier today... havent seen someone posted it.
According to L'Equipe 21 journalist, Michael Lefebvre, Chelsea have joined the race for Aymen Abdennour. (via @MIKL06)

Yet Chelsea can't buy Pogba.
Pogba was City's number one target this summer. Also Barcelona's.
Pogba is a much, much complicated issue and a much more desired player in Europe. City didnt really had any competition for KDB.

Why would they sell him for 6.5m euros? He was an interest for many clubs. Obviously those rumors you read weren't correct.

You're making the assumption that im one of those "people" that you're talking about here.
1) I didnt moan about signing an unknown CB. I know that an "unknown" CB can be considered to be "World Class" in one year, it happnes every season.
2) I dont care as much as others here about integrate youth players, especially when they just came from Brazil or they're not even from Chelsea's academy. I dont see a difference between them and Papy
