  1. If Ancelotti is a Chelsea legend, numerous people are Chelsea Legend... terms like "Legend" and "World class" are overused.
  2. Like Kostas, I can't understand the point to buy a new CB... On the matter about the striker, I could easily understand why André would want a new center forward, I was even agree with him. But there, I am very skeptical... We already have three top class center back, and we also have Ivanovic who could play there if necessary. On the other side, i'd rather us buy - or promote from our academy - a Right Back who could fill up the spot if Ivanovic was to play in the center. Maybe he doesn't want to work with one of our CB... But, there are other areas where it is more important to rebuild.
  3. At the start of the season, our squad will look like this (their age) : 35 : Hillario 33 : Lampard - Drogba 32 : Ferreira - Anelka 31 : Malouda - Benayoun 30 : Cole - Terry 29 : Cech - Alex - Bosingwa 28 : Essien - Zhirkov 27 : Ivanovic - Torres 26 : Turnball - Kalou 24 : Mikel - Ramires - Luiz 22 : Sturridge - Bertrand 21 : van Aaholt 20 : Kakuta 18 : McEachran NB : Essien will have 29 in december, and Terry and Cole 31. That means : • 8 players are under 25 years-old. • 12 players are above 29. • 9 players are above 30. • the age avergae of our team is 27,3 • the median age is something around 29 (I counted Essien as if he was already 29). The latter stat is the more relevant, to my eyes. I do not think to have as many players above 29 as under 29 is a good sign. That means our team is composed by too many old legs. I neither do not like the fact to have 9 players above their 30. Hence, I think a vampirism of the team is really necessary. I hope we get ride of at least three of those deadwood and replace them with young men (either from the academy/reserve or bought). I also hope we get ride of some not-enough-good players (aged between 25 and 30).
  4. Because at the contrary of Torres, Villa was good ! I'd even say very good. Plus the fact that Pep Guardoila continued to play him proved he was still good and brought something to Barça. The same thing can't be said about Torres.
  5. Should we change our password, like the last time ?
  6. I hope it isn't us. I've only seen him via some youtube video, but I don't understand all the hype around him. Yes he is a decent player but £50m ??!! I wouldn't give more than £20m to be honest...
  7. Thanks for the good job you've made Jim and BL
  8. Didn't Marca say some days ago that he had already signed a contracted with Madrid ? I don't really believe them.
  9. ^ Yep. True. But the thing really annoying to my mind, is that when in 'transfert talk' people just post a link without a name or whatsoever. So if you want to know what the link is talking about, you are forced to click on it... And when you end up on 'Cheryl regrets to have divorced".......
  10. Agree ! Though I won't be too harsh concerning to english level, since I don't think I'm above critism in this matter. But I gotta admit what's going on in the transfer forum (in particulary) become annoying.
  11. Benzema on the wing ? Are you serious people ?
  12. Perhaps André Villas-Boas is an anti-ganjah
  13. That's another reason why he won't suceed there. They will put on him too much pressure on his back. They are way too much obsessed with Messi and what does Barça.
  14. I think he meant he won't be as free on the field as he could be at Santos. Mourinho will force him to come back to defend, to do work rate, etc...
  15. Maybe what I'm gonna said is a bit bias, but for him the better choice is Chelsea. He dreams to be the best player of the world, isn't he ? So, if he goes to Barça, he will be forever overshadowed by Messi, and not sure he can get a starting place with Pedro and Villa. If he goes to Madrid, I don't believe he will get many chance with the likes of Ronaldo and Ozil, plus he won't flourish 'cause Mourinho doesn't give much liberty on the field to his players (bare Ronaldo). The Russian club, he will play in a poor league, so to get the Ballon d'Or he will be a hard task. And city.... That leaves us, with a young and hungry coach and an entire team to rebuilt, so if he comes here he will have more chance than anywhere to have a spot in the starting eleven since the start. By the way, I still hope we can sign him, whatsoever the price I'd say. We really need a whimsical player like him.
  16. Why the hell did you post that here ? We're in 'Transfert Talk', not 'Gossip Talk' lol
  17. Indeed. But he breaks down all the dynamic of the game.
  18. Whew !! We've finally been linked with some RBs, and especially with him. I was afraid journos were sick XD When Dani Alves' turn ?
  19. Hm, now I want him and I think we need him !! Why ? Let's put it this way : If you analyse every teams who has won something during the past seasons, you will notice they have almost all something similar : a striker on fire. Let's do a brief analysis of the matter : Barcelona 2008 - 2009 : Samuel Eto'o, 36 goals. Back then Eto'o was on fire. Messi may has won the Ballon d'Or, but Samuel was the genuine Barça's best player, to my eyes. I saw a stat on him, and if I recall it correctly that was more or less "50% of Barça's first goals were from Eto'o". Which is impressive and proves his importance.Inter 2009 - 2010 : Diego Milito, 30 goals. You just gotta see what happened in the final -> Milito was somehow untouchable back then and he scored a load of important goals.Chelsea 2009 - 2010 : Didier Drogba, 37 goals. Everybody here know the story.Manchester Utd 2010 - 2011 : Hernandez, 20 goals. He didn't score as many goals as my other examples, but he scored vital goals both in Champions League and Premier League.Barcelona 2010 - 2011 : Lionel Messi, 53 goals. Do I need to say stuff ? And I think myself that a striker in a good form is something really needed for teams who seek success. Of course you also need creativity in the midfield to feed the striker in good balls, and good wingers as well. But, if you haven't someone to convert those good balls and someone to make goals out of something, then you can have all the best passers in the world it won't work. At the moment, we have three strikers. Didier Drogba, he is 33 and will be 34 next year. I don't think we can really rely on him, due to his age. Of course he could play an important role within our team, but just as a part-time player, not as our main striker and as the regular starter. Torres, he is the shadow of the player he was once, for more or less 18 months. For me, his best days belong to the past and even if he hits a good form one day he will never be the same, to my honest opinion. So, realistically, it is a bit mad to set our hopes on him. Daniel Sturridge, very good talent. I predict him a bright futur. I really like this player, I think he will be an important player for us in the futur (If we don't sell him before that), and I thinl he is a player on who we can rely on. That leaves us with just one good 'omen'... I do think to add Radamel Falcao to our striker set wouldn't be a luxury considering what I did say in my last paragraph, plus he is a different type of player than Sturridge... Of course, that's just my view.
  20. Very true. Back in the midst of may, there's someone who has made a good post which analysed every 'caviars' Torres has been given - If I remind it correctly, that was Blue Heart. Okay, there were not many of those 'caviars', but he has been given some. And, on each one of them he has been pathetic. The problem isn't even that he didn't scored from them, but he hasn't even done something decent out of them.
  21. Dear God. Salomon Kalou > Lukaku.
  22. Yes and no. If Udinese has endorsed Chelsea to have talks with the player, that's not a tapping up ; if Udinese didn't do so, then that's tapping up. Considering that Udinese is willing to sell him, I guess some clubs have been given the right to talk to the player.
