  1. Mark Hughes for me would do the trick. He's a Chelsea fan to start with, played with passion and pride for us during his playing career, which face it he was coming to the end of when he signed for us, and he has the credentials to make the step up to managing a big team. My only question would be, could Sparky manage the ego's of the big name players like Ballack and Shevchenko? Also as i've said before i think Sparky would bring David Bentley to the Bridge with him and that in itself would be a nice bonus. And as for Jose coming back, come on guys get over it
  2. Man City would be mad to replace Sven with Avram
  3. Sparky would be the one i'd want off the list, he's an ex-Chelsea favourite which will obviously go down well with the majority of the fans, he knows the Premier League and he knows Chelsea... i think he has the credentials to do the job
  4. so that's who the telephone bidder that outbid me was !
  5. This game takes on a massive amount of importance in the history of the club and in building the future of the club to the next level. I think when you look at it from a one game perspective, the rewards on the night, without looking at the long-term repercussion's this game could have, (for example when we beat Liverpool on the last day of the season in 2003, we didn't know at the time we'd sealed the interest of a certain Mr Abramovich) then it's certainly up there as one of our biggest games ever. But is this the biggest game in the clubs history? I'll save my answer for Thursday afternoon
  6. I don't think Scott Sinclair is anywhere near being good enough quality to play for Chelsea on a regular basis anytime in the near future, so i think we do have to bring somebody new in... i personally think Downing would be a good acquisition because i had a bad opinion of him before seeing him play on numerous occassions this season and my opinion has changed
  7. Both side's have former Chelsea lads in their line-ups and for me as much as i'd like to see Cardiff lift the cup for Jimmy, i'd rather see an English Cup competition won by an English side rather than a Welsh side so fingers crossed for Pompey tomorrow
  8. We all know there are going to be exits over the summer, and i fully expect Avram Grant to rebuild the squad and turn it from Jose Mourinho's team into his own team... I think SWP, Belletti, Sidwell, Ben-Haim, Shevchenko, Pizarro, Drogba and Malouda could all be on their way out in the coming months, obviously not all of those players will leave, but for the majority of this season 7 of the 8 players mentioned have struggled to get a regular game under Grant and for players of their talent they're wasted sitting in the stands listening to their iPods every week. Players like Carvalho are the ones we should be striving to keep
  9. Nah, i've been to watch Middlesbrough a couple of times this season with a mate from University and he's impressed me every time i've seen him... like i said he gets a lot of stick but he scores, and creates goals and he's far better than Malouda
  10. Me on the left.. ready for the Derby Uni Mayball
  11. I think a left sided midfielder is a must... he gets a lot of stick but personally i'd love to see Stewart Downing at the Bridge.. he's a quality little player
  12. i'm surprised at the lack of welsh city names
  13. I think the fact that past players and management are on it was a contributing factor to it being taken down
  14. I met Michael Duberry shopping for football boots in Stoke, he was pleasant enough and his missus is a bit of a looker
  15. Ten Coats might have the power to persuade him, but unless Drogba goes we don't need him unless we sell Shevchenko and/or Pizarro instead
  16. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_3116396,00.html Torres says he's fit
  17. I remember when Dmitri Kharine first signed for us, he used to send food parcels and money back to his family in Russia because they were too poor, i haven't read the article but i imagine there's a good reason Essien has ignored helping his so called father
  18. Arsenal are still to have their "blip" this season and i think ManUre are more than capable of dropping points at times... at the moment i can't look past Arsenal winning the Premiership but i can't and won't rule us out of the race until its mathematically impossible for us, it's not over until its over, just look at Real Madrid last season
  19. A player like Van der Vaart or Luka Modric would be a better option than Gerrard for me, and probably cheaper options too... leave Gerrard swimming in all the history past players have made at Liverpool, whilst our players build their own at the Bridge
  20. Drogba has the fact that the African Awards Panel chose him as the player of the year, he doesn't need the award and the official title to know he's the best in my opinion
  21. would this be Liverpool targeting the same Joe " i want to stay at Chelsea for life " Cole that i'm thinking of?!? they can bollocks!!
  22. I think England shirts should have at least some signifigance to the George Cross on them, i'm not sure about this one at the moment though
  23. Good luck to the kid in all honesty, i don't expect him to play at all this season if i'm honest but if he gets a game it most likely will be against Huddersfield in the FA Cup, from what i've read and heard about this kid though he's probably more similar to Pizarro than he is any of our other strikers
  24. I imagine it will be, we can't let the scousers take our home record away from us, that would be unthinkable
  25. Mini-Maka was absolutely outstanding throughout, if only he'd produced performances like that in a Chelsea shirt more often then we'd never have sold him, if it wasn't for him i reckon we'd have won comfortably
