  1. I meant it was there first year back in the league, e.g. they were promoted to the Championship in 2007.
  2. Apparently two new banners in the MHU last night? Didn't see them though? Did anyone see what they said? I heard one was "Matthew Harding's Blue and White Army", and the other "Chelsea is our Religion"?
  3. Yup FB, we've sold over 5000 tickets already. Im going, can't wait.
  4. Barnsley Vs Chelsea Chelsea travel to Yorkshire this weekend to face FA Cup giant-killers of the season, Barnsley at Oakwell. Chelsea are set to rest a number of key players. Carlo Cudicini should continue in goal, whilst Ben-Haim, Sidwell and Pizarro could continue, with Shevchenko a possibility to make his first appearance for the Blues since Boxing Day. Brian Howard's injury time winner at Anfield see's Barnsley into the quarter finals, although they have struggled since then with indifferent form. Avram Grant's side are looking for a win that will send them to Wembley for the 4th time in the last twelve months and their third consecutive FA Cup semi final. Match Chat Here
  5. He was class at Fulham Chris. Don't know what has happened to him this season.
  6. Click here Stephen Hunt was a Reading hero at Middlesbrough with the assist for James Harper's winning goal but the Irishman failed to cover himself in glory on the way home. Prescribed eye drops and a nasal spray for a bout of conjuctivitis, Hunt decided to administer the first dose of his treatment during the coach journey. A loud scream, however, soon alerted team-mates to his condition as the winger mistakenly used the nasal spray on his eyes. According to one eyewitness, the pain eased after five minutes but the embarrassment still lingers. Bloody idiot. Hope it f'ing hurt.
  7. Schalke or Fene would be great, although I think we can beat any of the remaining teams. My moneys on Barca on Liverpool though .
  8. Nope Paul. Stream of SkySports2 What are the subs mate?
  9. Official Team News: Chelsea: Carlo Cudicini replaces the injured Petr Cech, who damaged his knee yesterday in training. The only other change from the weekend's win at West Ham see's Didier Drogba replace Nicolas Anelka. 23. Carlo Cudicini 20. Paulo Ferriera 26. John Terry© 6. Ricardo Carvalho 3. Ashley Cole 13. Michael Ballack 4. Claude Makelele 8. Frank Lampard 21. Salomon Kalou 10. Joe Cole 11. Didier Drogba Substitutes: 40. Henrique Hilario, 33. Alex Rodrigo da Costa, 35. Juliano Belletti, 5. Michael Essien, 24. Shaun Wright-Phillips, 15. Florent Malouda, 39. Nicolas Anelka.
  10. Just been told by a fairly reliable source that Cech is injured and wont play tonight. Seriousness of the injury unknown.
  11. Chelsea will be without keeper Petr Cech for tonight's crucial Champions League match with Olympiakos. The Blues star sustained an injury during the final training session at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening. At first it was not thought to be too serious but the Czech international will not be risked against the Greek side. From The Sun website.
  12. Saturday, 08 March 2008 Blackburn 2-0 Fulham, 15:00 Liverpool 2-1 Newcastle, 15:00 Reading 1-2 Man City, 15:00 Sunday, 09 March 2008 Sunderland 0-2 Everton, 15:00 Tottenham 2-1 West Ham, 15:00 Wigan 0-3 Arsenal, 16:00
  13. Aston Villa 3-1 Middlesbrough Chelsea 3-0 Derby Portsmouth 2-0 Birmingham
  14. Gallas' behaviour was disgraceful. A young player (Clichy) giving away a penalty should not result in your CAPTAIN going off on one. What example does that show? I'd be utterly embarrased if JT did such a thing, although to be honest, I couldnt ever see him doing that.
  15. Actually, yeah, stick to the rules, and set the topic to be closed at 12:00 when you create it.
  16. Like all, I'm a bit surprised by that given the Aliadiere red card. I thought they'd stick by it, as Frank kicks out at Boa Morte first slightly.
  17. This is Bristols first year in the league, but Stoke have been in there ages I think.
  18. Welcome back If you, or anyone has any issues, then contact me or Jim (Y)
  19. I say this one time we let Mungii off the hook. Just this once. BL's choice though.
  20. I dont see Lyon as much as you do BL, but i'm told that Ben Arfa hasnt progressed as much as many thought. Benzema and Ben Arfa have been rivals apparently for years, coming through the French youth teams together, and for the majority of that Ben Arfa was the main man, which has changed of late. The two really dont get on, and I believe there were fisty cuffs between the two in the last game? My mate in Marseille went as far as saying Benzema is "800x the player Ben Arfa is". I agree with you though. Lyons main threat will be from Juninho's free kicks.
  21. Yep Paul, i'd continue with Paulo. Fed up of Belletti's consistent lack of defensive abilities. If were struggling and need a goal, stick Essien or Belletti on at RB in the second half.
  22. Got injured whilst getting 'match fit', hes back again training, and I think Chelsea TV said to expect to see him at Barnsley on Saturday.
  23. Why's everyone so determined to see Sheva score? I'd much rather see one of the young lads get a goal that might actually do something good at Chelsea one day. Sheva's off in the summer. No doubt about it.
  24. Agree with the majority you said there BL. I think Utd going through is pretty much routine. Lyon getting the first goal would make things interesting, although I see Utd scoring 3 or 4. I dont think the Inter/Liverpool game is over yet, it depends what Inter and what Liverpool show up, but I'd put my money on Liverpool. I think we'll beat Olympiakos narrowly too. Milan will edge it against Arsenal for me, but again the first goal is so crucial. --- Team wise?? Same as Saturday for me: Cech; Paulo, JT, Riccy, Ash; Maka, Ballack, Frank; Joe, Kalou, Nico. Pretty much the strongest we can go with in my opinion, although it will be a toss up between Didier and Nico, and i'd expect Belletti and perhaps SWP to come back in. I like Kalou on the left though, and with a real run of 7-10 games I think he could improve alot.
