  1. hmmm not at all comfortable with that we were outplayed for a good 2/3s of it. Hopefully Ballack can make an impact and surely Grant will be kicking himself for not playing Joe Cole instead of Wright-Phillips? Joe needs to come on asap.
  2. and the team is: Cech Belletti Bridge Carvalho Terry Essien Mikel Lampard Wright-Phillips Drogba Anelka
  3. It looks like Lampard and Terry are definitely starting according to Sky Sports.
  4. Good to see he's sounding positive! He must bring his A game on Sunday!
  5. I totally agree and whilst Cudicini is a quality goalkeeper he is obviously low on confidence and is not world class like Cech is.
  6. ffs who the hell are the wankers that have done this!? I wish they would keep their pathetic politics out of football! Grant is a football boss not any religious or political figure!
  7. Anti-Semitic death threats have been sent to Chelsea football boss Avram Grant in a package containing a mysterious powder, police said. The football club's training ground at Cobham, Surrey, was sealed off after a member of staff opened the package. A note addressed to 52-year-old Grant contained anti-Jewish insults and claimed the powder was lethal. A police source said it used the words: "When you open this letter you will die a very slow and painful death." The letter also included threats to the manager's wife Tzofit, a well-know personality in Israel. A spokesman for Surrey Police said: "We were called to Chelsea's training ground at Cobham at 12.15pm yesterday after they received a suspicious package." The white powder was analysed by specialists from Surrey Fire Service and found to be harmless, police said. Detectives are continuing their investigations to identify the source of the package. Chelsea Football Club has so far made no comment.
  8. Boring match, Kalou should have nicked it at the end. Shame we didn't get an away goal but I am confident we will win at SB.
  9. Not the best of matches so far they have probably had the slighly better chances. Drogba seems very frustrated at the moment. Most of the play is coming through Malouda. On another note how the hell was Materazzi sent off? Torres dived on at least one if not both the occasions!
  10. I'm happy with the team I don't know about the bench yet.
  11. Good I'm not worried by that. Barnsley have a tidy ground and pitch as well so it won't be a lottery like it could have been at Bristol Rovers or Cardiff.
  12. For Olympiacos I'd go 4-3-3 with... Cech; Belletti, Terry, Carvalho, A Cole; Essien, Ballack, Lampard; J Cole, Drogba, Anelka Bench (assuming 7): Cudicini, Alex, Bridge, Mikel, Makelele, Shevchenko, Kalou For Tottenham I'd go 4-4-2 with... Cech; Belletti, Terry, Carvalho, A Cole; Lampard, Ballack, Wright-Phillips, J Cole, Drogba, Shevchenko Bench (assuming 5): Cudicini, Alex, Bridge, Essien, Anelka Harsh on Mikel, Malouda and Wright-Phillips mind. Benches assuming we have 7: Cudicini, Alex, Bridge, Mikel,
  13. hahaha I love that! Soccer Saturday was great yesterday
  14. I think we should be looking to keep Ash, Bridge and Malouda as they are all quality players.
  15. Is it just me or are you all struggling to choose a team for this match? I don't envy Avram one bit on this! I think we must play our strongest possible lineup for both this and at Wembley. I'm thinking 4-3-3 here and then 4-4-2 at Wembley?
  16. Chelsea's young Israeli striker Ben Sahar is ready to sign for struggling Sheffield Wednesday on loan for the rest of the season. Owls boss Brian Laws has made an approach for the powerful forward who will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge to gain first-team experience. Sahar is back in the reserves at Chelsea after a loan spell at QPR ended with injury problems - but he is keen for a second shot at the Championship.
  17. KEVIN KEEGAN’S £50million summer spending plans are on hold until Newcastle have secured Premier League safety, writes STEVE BRENNER. Toon are in freefall, without a league win in two months, to leave them six points above the drop zone. Keegan, who still has not won in five matches since returning to the club, said: “We have to get the players we have here to ensure our safety. "We just need a win, then the confidence will come flowing back.” Keegan has drawn up a wish-list including Manchester United’s Wes Brown, Chelsea defender Wayne Bridge and West Ham striker Dean Ashton to spark a Toon revolution.
  18. Lampard set up Kalou who mean 2 men to score! 3-1
  19. Sinclair goal disallowed for offside. Great initial build up by Pizarro.
