  1. All my days now are basically made up of studying for about 10-12 hours, sleep for 7 hours and lazing around for the rest of the time.
  2. Just the whole 'new Kaka' thing...Kaka and Carlo are very close and Kaka's fluent Italian would have helped massively in that relationship
  3. Tons of our youngsters have twitter accounts.
  4. LMAO love how they put that in as if it was the final deal clincher. Anyone know if the kid speaks Italian?
  5. Annoying idiot...what's his name again? I just call him Chutney. Sample this : On our FA Cup Everton game- Some random reply to another user: Clearly, Wenger's delusion is seeping through the ranks
  6. English teams that have won a major trophy since Arsenal or Liverpool last won one : PortsmouthBirmingham CityTottenham
  7. Emenalo said : Explains why we've seen the narrow 4-4-2, especially on the right. There's obviously not much trust in Essien's defensive abilities. Interesting, very interesting...
  8. How's Lampard made it to the nominees? He's been shite apart from taking the penalties :\ And I want Kalou in the list. Clearly a World POTY in waiting.
  9. Welcome i.am.blue! We.are.blue.too
  10. Just him taking all the penalties would have made it 50. INSANE!
  11. Agree with Blue Heart, Hamsik has a bit of Frank in him. But there's only one Frank Lampard. Absolute timeless, immortal legend who'll be spoken of in the same breath as Osgood and Zola 10 years from now. I'm a bit emotional now.
  12. It's always nice to have a quiet, softspoken guy around in the madness that is Chelsea. He's still a better player than a lot of people give him credit for.
  13. Funny as fuck hahahahaha. Oh wait, whaddaya mean this is not an April Fool's Day joke?
  14. ffs can we wait until Carlo quits/ is sacked till we discuss this?
  15. I blame Ron Gourlay for undermining Carlo's position by saying publicly that the contract may not be renewed. He literally gave an open invitation to the media to come up with fantasy headlines. Idiot.
  16. They missed out on Ronaldo as well ... then United got him.
  17. Why thank you, Arsene! Cech = £7 million? Bargain of the century :cfc:
  18. Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has revealed that Arsenal passed up the chance to sign him in 2002, suggesting the Gunners felt he was not good enough for life in the Premier League. Cech, 28, has become one of the finest keepers in world football during his seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge, but he could have been plying his trade in north rather than west London had things panned out differently. The Czech Republic international was watched by Arsenal's scouts while he was at Sparta Prague but they were put off by him not qualifying for a work permit and he ended up heading to French side Rennes. The work permit may have been a stumbling block, but Cech has suggested Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was informed by his scouting network that the keeper was not good enough. "Before I went to Rennes I was watched by Arsenal but when I couldn't get a work permit the situation was missed," Cech is quoted as saying in The Sun. "And at the last minute I think the person who was the chief scout at Arsenal didn't think I was good enough for the English league. So in the end it didn't happen." Chelsea have put themselves back in the title race with a strong run of form and Cech is looking for the Blues to continue the forward momentum. "We're more secure at the back and we still have the opportunity to catch Manchester United if they start dropping points," he said. "We are still dependent on all the others. But we have to win, win, win, keep the pressure on. "What is essential for a club like Chelsea is to have the stature of a club playing in the Champions League next season. "We have some big games coming up and there are teams around us who are battling for it as well." Soccernet
  19. Thing is though, he didn't have much to do against City, did he? They played a weird 6-2-1-1 formation and apart from the first 5-7 minutes they hardly got into our half. It was the perfect game to showcase his attacking thrust. But then again, you can only play what's put in front of you. :cfc:
  20. Welcome mate, you make truly awesome vids...keep 'em coming!
  21. What a coincidence - I was reading that Barca match thread yesterday! Some guy actually predicted us to score first and then them going through on away goals in extra time. Unreal! I've also read the one of United away last year and the of course the Wigan one. So you're not alone
  22. Let me start off by saying Luiz is the most exciting signing we've made in a long, long time. His arrival has been a breath of fresh air - watching him dribble up the centre of the pitch with the ball tied magnetically to his feet while his gloriously generous hair mops about is a great sight, something we have not quite seen at the Bridge since the early days of Carvalho's time here. And he's been an instant hit as well. 2 goals against the Manchester clubs and 2 MOTM performances in 4 starts have already given him a cult status and made him a fan favourite. All sunshine and rainbows. But it could have been so, so different. 93rd minute of a crucial away game at Fulham, with either side yet to score. Facing the goal, Luiz brings down Dempsey for a penalty. Fortunately Cech spares his blushes and the game ends with the points shared. Second half of the home game against Man United. Luiz - already on a yellow, bodychecks first Hernandez and then Rooney but gets away with it. On another day he could've, should've been dismissed. And he would have gone from hero to zero in a moment. Sports fans are a fickle bunch. To cut to the chase, while he has been refreshing and exciting, he's also acted his young age at times and such lapses in concentration/temperament are more often than not punished severely in such a competitive league. His runs out of position are good on the eye but as teams get used to his style, we could be made to pay for it. It's the kind of thing that makes you look like a genius when it comes off and like an utter monkey's ass when it doesn't. Some teams will be confused whether to track him, how to mark him etc. They'll find him too hot to handle while others will be working on a plan to exploit this facet of his game. He tends to be a bit over enthusiastic in his rush to get to the ball and often sticks dangerously close to his man in an attempt to tackle him. Hard referees will be booking him often when this happens. I'm not knocking the guy at all, just stating my observations from what I've seen of him. I think he's already one of the best young centre halves in the world and obviously has bags of potential which with more exposure, attention and training will see him transform into the best defender on the planet in a few years time. His style of play is tremendously entertaining and his reading of the game and the ability to spot and intercept the opposition's final ball is second to none at this club. It's like watching Carvalho all over again. Maybe we can put down the above mentioned faults to youthful exuberance or the nerves of moving to a much bigger league. Of course he also yet to be tested consistently every week and like every player, will go through a lean patch. It's essential for us fans to back him though, because one thing is clear - we have a real gem on our hands. Thoughts?
