Top post. We were going to introduce the youth in the beginning of the season, so now let's trust them rather than demoralizing them by going after guys like Luiz/Torres/Aguero. I'm all for squad players like Pienaar because they will complement both the youth and our established first teamers.

I'm not in the slightest angry with the board for the Luiz saga. Not in the slightest. I'm more worried about the Aguero/Torres rumours because if they true they mean that we're ready to splash wild money just to show other clubs that we're here and ready to spend. Expect more hard ball tactics from selling clubs now on if we show inclination to spend crazy money. And ffs what happened to the whole "give youth a chance" campaign? It's the not the best advertisement for our youth or for our trust in them when you're going after Torres and Luiz with Sturridge and Bruma rotting on the bench!

Lol people really do have it in for Kalou. It clearly says value for money and imo for 9 million, 50 goals and probably as many assists in 4 years while always being played as a winger and mostly as a sub too, he deserves more points. If I were simply rating him, it would be 4/10, but in terms of value for money, 7/10.

Agreed about Carlo's media antics - and it's in the club's interest like you say. But I still remember Ballack saying Carlo wanted him while it was Roman refused to extend his contract. That makes me think that while Carlo has a say in who is brought to the club, his say is not given prime importance. It's like Roman giving Carlo three apples to choose from while Carlo could have had an orange in mind. Dunno if you get what I mean there LOL

This is fast reaching the 'meh' stage.

Transfers, contracts, etc. Roman's buddies on the board are running the club. Arnesen - the sporting side of things, Gourlay - the financial side. I'm aware this could be termed mere speculation on my part, but then it's logical to me where I'm standing from. I do think though that Roman realises this mistake and Carlo will get more of a say in the future.
