  1. No, he placed his eggs in the Barry basket.
  2. Who would you say is the better keeper between Jamal and Sam?
  3. Considering that source is likely to be Harry Harris, this is bollocks.
  4. To use a quintessential English term, "Blimey!"
  5. Sigh. 'Fringe players' are as necessary for a squad as the star names. Can't believe someone could say this even after having a look at this season. The lack of such 'fringe players' is exactly the reason why the likes of Drogba and Anelka are being run into the ground. That, and Carlo not trusting the youth enough.
  6. All said and done, I don't think too many will argue when it's said that CB isn't a priority in January. We need a right sided midfileder/winger and a CAM or a CM who likes to go forward.
  7. Hopefully our board will grow a brain sometime in the (near) future, AND STOP RUINING THE CLUB!
  8. As you say, some really good players there. But it's a matter of ifs and buts 8 years on. Though I'm disappointed that Huth, Cole and Forssell didn't go on to make much of their talent.
  9. That's unfair. We already bid for Pienaar. It's not the board's fault he chose Spurs. If rumours are to be believed, we're "in talks" regarding Sanchez as well.
  10. Planet Benfica is a fan club, not related to the club. Much like us at TC. He can't be, United don't play in Manchester.
  11. Good article, but it says what we as Chelsea fans already knew about Terry-Riccy and Terry-Alex/Iva. Luiz seems like a good fit for Terry but that should not be the primary consideration in getting him here. Let's face it - even with so many injury problems, we've still conceded only 7 goals at home all season. I personally feel we're not going to get Luiz in January. Waiting for the club to surprise me though
  12. Let me assure you our squad problems go deeper than this season. Spurs are fools for giving him a 4 year deal. A 3 year deal here wouldn't have hurt considering Benayoun will probably go in the summer or next Jan due to his injury. Another year added on means Lampard, Anelka et al are that much older, and considering Carlo's selection policies this season the likes of Kakuta and Josh won't be getting much time. And he could always have been moved on after 2 years to a smaller club for about half of that 3 million. Well it's all ifs and buts now and no point discussing this further, but we need squad players. Or we need to give more chances to Josh, Kakuta, Sturridge, PvA and Matic or retain Bertrand, Cork, Mancienne - neither of which looks like happening.
  13. Reportedly, he's on 70k a week for 4 years at Spurs. That's 13.5 mil + 3 mil transfer fees so about 17 mil in total.
  14. Pienaar wasn't a smart short term transfer? I like several others have already pointed out a lot of times why this would have been a good deal. And don't tell me you would want to see Kalou warming up on the touchline rather than Pienaar. Having said that though if he was asking for unreasonable wages, I'm happy we didn't give in.
